Ecig.com being shifty with shipping during sales?

Anyone else notice this? I noticed it this past week during the black friday/cyber monday sale they had going on and realized the same thing happened when they had a sale a while back.

Normally, when you buy something you get an option of what shipping choice you want at various price points, but the 2 or 3 times I bought stuff from them that was heavily on sale or during one of their big sales, you no longer have an option for shipping and you are forced to pay near $13 for Priority 2 Day shipping. Not totally unreasonable in itself, but then they ship the package regular Priority (which is definitely cheaper). So now the package I was forced to pay $13 for 2 day shipping for is not here an entire week later.

So I dunno. Are they doin this during sales to offset their costs? Charging for 2 day, then shipping regular and pocketing the difference? Who knows, just an interesting observation

I can't say I've ordered from them during a big sale, but I know I remember seeing stuff like that last year around this same time. Can't remember what vendor, or anything. I got something from them a long time ago, maybe my VTC mini and didn't have that as the only ship option.

As somebody that ships shit thru USPS, I can say there is only Priority, and 2-3 days depending on zip, or Priority Express, next day. There is no regular Priority. But yes, they are making a buck or 8, depending on what pack they are sending it in. They are probably only making a couple bucks over cost on the item, and making up a little more on the shipping, by enticing you on the super lower initial price. They also probably buy a crap ton of a popular item to get it at a lower cost.

I placed 3 orders with them during BF and only paid about $3 for first class on each order. Maybe you were over the weight limit for cheaper shipping?

Tried to order a charger, was 15 bucks higher due to 2 day option only.
When I asked why I got a shrug and said it is the only option when required.
Order canceled will not return.

I've received stuff from friends shipped priority, that got here slower, than when I shipped to them first class. That's why I just stick to first class.

Had the same thing happen to me I ordered a mod and some coils and they wanted $12.00 shipping. Canceled the order and got the stuff from MVS along with two icare kits for $5.50 shipping.

I ordered on Black Friday. Paid $8.70. Had my items in my hand on Monday. Must be some factor at play here that doesn't apply to everybody's order. Vape Royalty on the other hand has lost my business. Ordered on Friday early morning. Showed everything in stock. Get an email on Tuesday, said that they had stocked some other items in the wrong locations and were really out of stock on my items. No offer to replenish stock and ship at later date only to refund order. Hard to believe on multiple items. Also took 3 days to issue refund.

I noticed the same thing on BF from ecig.com. I have placed many orders with ecig.com in the past and have always been able to choose shipping. I went to place a $20.00 order on BF for a tank and there was only the 2nd day ship option at $8.50, so no way did I place that order. Most order shipping for me has been under $5.00 in the past from ecig.com. I tried every way to get the lower mail price, but the 2nd day was the only choice.
Oh well, they lost a sale from me, but they probably had hundreds more customers that would pay that high shipping fee.

Glad its not just me then.

I only bought a single mod and a single rda, so its not like I had so much stuff going out that it would be super heavy or need two packages. Hell, itll probably show up in an envelope.

It depends on the vendor, some offer only one or two types of shipping which are usually above $9-12. The key is "Shipping and Handling" versus shipping alone. I rebuild vintage Triumph Motorcycles as a hobby. One vendor in Washington state wanted to charge me $35 Shipping and handling for a $21 part. They lost my business on the spot. Next Day Air would have been cheaper.

I've noticed this as well. I've gotten email alerts about a great offer from them only to find shipping prices in my cart that negate any savings I would have gotten.
I have always backed out when it's happened, but I'm a cheap bastard. :p

Here are my thoughts, for what they are worth....

The companies in China are trying any way they can to dig you for more money. Mostly in hopes you are stupid or something. I pretty much stick to ordering from GearBest, FastTech(very little) and AliExpress. It seems all those other vendors are just scammers and shit heads. I'm still careful to pay attention to shipping costs, no matter who I order from.

I tried BangGood recently, as I have gotten into quad copters. Ordered some LiPo batteries for one of my quads. Took like 6 weeks to get them, and when they arrived, they had caught fire and burned up in shipping. After contacting them three times to get the refund and settle the problem, I had to turn to PayPal for my money. Still took a couple of weeks to get a refund through them.

IF this had been one of the three I mentioned before, I don't think I would have nearly as much hassle.

There is a slew of vendors over there that are eager to sell to us. Some of them are eager to screw us over too, if we let them.

ecig.com isnt a chinese vendor tho (not as far as I know). For chinese stuff I always hit 3fvape, they have good prices and great choice of clones, mostly high quality.
I got one order from them, in the past. Got here quicker than FT or GB. BUT, I've never had issues with those 2, either. FT can be a bit slower, for ME, but usually 4 weeks. GB has always been 3 weeks to my door. I'd order from them again. Plus - free shipping! :bliss:

Oh, I thought they were another China vendor. There are so damn many, it's hard to keep track.

Still, I don't buy much vape stuff from America or it's vendors. If I do, it's usually ebay I go to.

I think most of us thought the same when they first came to the scene. They've had great prices from time to time, so I see why, LOL.

OK just did not want to do an edit.

The price for the 6 bay luc at the time was 8-16 bucks cheaper than most sites. With the shipping it took it past what other places were selling it.. why I was price shopping in the first place.
I went elsewhere and only paid a few bucks more with an atty included and gladly ate the 3 dollar difference.
My 3 bucks it cost me, but it cost them a returning customer.
