What is the main gauge of wire you use?

Pretty much just 24 for plain old coils. 2-2.5mm on tanks and 3mm on RDA's. I don't use it as much as I did at first though. Now I use mainly Claptons on RDA's and twisted 28g on tanks.

I don't have a main gauge, but I've been enjoying twisted 28g lately. Normally I'll use 26g for dual coils and 24 for single coils.

I reach for 24 AGW nichrome or titanium when I make a build. It's usually paired with a very thin gauge nichrome such as 36 or 38.

only knew it was from UD
nichrome & 26 gauge type

was taught to build 5wraps on 2mm diameter since started until today i found a thread here about "pancake wig build"!
now using 6 wraps on 3mm diameter
*great for bigger VG liquid with pancake wig
*pic showed this setup still kicking even after 14hours of heavy vaping (using VG90 juice)

I build with SS so the gauge is not comparable to Kanthal. I primarily use 26G and 28G for builds, simple coil or Clapton. A 28G 1 ohm SS316L coil would require ~9 wraps, while Kanthal would be 4 wraps. So off the top of my head, my 26G and 28G SS, would compare out to ~24G or 26G with Kanthal.

26g kanthal mainly for me. I do have 22 to 30 and everything in between, but 26 is my go to.

I really like twisted 30 kanthal too though. 2 strands of 30 twisted in a drill. Great stuff.

I've been using ss exclusively since it works in both temp and power mode. 26ga, 316L, 8-10 wraps, 2.5 - 3.5 id depending on the atty.

I have 2 coils I use pretty consistently on my tanks and RDAs now. Lightning Vapes carries Fused Clapton wire with 2 26 gauge Nichrome wires on the inside and a 36 gauge Kanthal Wrap. This Fused Clapton wire is the most common that I use in my RDA's and my RDTA's. For my RTA's I use wire I get from 101vape.com which is called "Alien" Clapton wire. It is not really Alien clapton wire but Ribbon Wire clapton. They sell 10 packs of wire in like 6 inch strips for $3.99. This wire works excellent in my Billow V3 Plus. ( Here is a video of me building the V3 Plus )

26g ss316 for me. Anything thicker is a chore to work with imo. And i like ss316, its flexible for both power and temp control.

28 awg Kanthal A1 round Have some 30 awg Kanthal as well, not really using it. Recently, got some 26/32 Clapton wire to try Clapton. I don't use any dual battery mods ergo only use single coil Clapton builds. Not greatly impressed by Clapton. I tried some 26 gauge 316 Stainless, liked it better than the Clapton. Overall though, I'd say I'm spoiled on plain old 28 awg Kanthal. :)

For simple builds I almost always grab 24g, either SS316L, or KA1. Mostly SS these days as its perfect for regulated, and mechs. I have everything from 22g all the way up to 40, but I find anything outside of 24 to be a pain to work with. Thinner wire tends to give me issues due to it being a little more flimsy, and 22g is just a pain since its so thick. 24 is my happy medium of easy to work with, easy to manipulate when installing, and the most durable
