RX200S amp reading/limit

Can anyone tell me if the RX200S limits the amps drawn from the coil the way the Cuboid does? I.e., the Cuboid has a coil amp readout on screen and won't fire if the amp draw is greater than 25A. This is stupid, since it's not how regulated mods work. But what are you going to do.

Does the RX200S limit, or simply display?

TIA

Can anyone tell me on my rx200s when i fire the device the amp reading is 11.8 so basically 12.

Its that 12 amps I'm pulling from the battery's? Or is that 12 amps my atty is pulling from the mod.

I'm totally confused. Can't find any info on it anywhere.

I have 3 HE4's in device. 20A continuous. Yellows.

I have been looking for the same answer! Did you ever find one? :)

That's the current from the regulator being displayed, not the current from the batteries. Here's a bit more info about calculating current from the batteries...

Great article! Exactly what i was looking for! You even used realux as one of the examples in the piece. Ty ty ty for the link
Thanks so much for the reply! So what's being shown on the display is not what it's drawing from the battery? Just to be clear.

I vape at about 50 watts in my RX200S, that should come out to 5.5A at 3.0v batteries, the display shows about 9A, this isn't from the batteries correct?

An explanation made simple.
What the mods display is the amp draw on the chip not the battery and is calculated based on ohm's law.

This is how how you calculate the amp draw on the batteries:
(Used wattage/single battery V cutoff/number of batteties)/mod efficiency %

Nicely said. Just to be crystal clear, that would be the most amps you would draw. With freshly charged batteries the chip would draw less amps.

Thanks! Much appreciated! So let's say if I were to run 150W from 20A batteries in my RX200S, it would be drawing 16.6A and would be safe regardless of what the display says?

EDIT: I don't vape that high, this is just a theoretical.

Assuming your 3 batteries are drained to 3 volts that would be correct if the chip were 100% efficient. A 7-10% pad would be a good rule of thumb but that would still be within the 20A battery rating. And remember that is the most amps you would draw. With fully charged batteries at 4.2 volts the amps drop to the 12-13A range.
