Aspire Cleito and weird juice flavors

Hey all,

New to the forum and have a quick question.

I have a Wismec Reuleaux RX2/3 along with a Aspire Cleito.

I have another setup that I use primarily and when I started vaping a custard juice (6mg) 70vg/30pg, I absolutely loved the flavor running .3 ohm coil and 40W.

I recently switched that custard juice to the Cleito and when I had the .4 ohm coil running at 40W I dunno, it just seems to be hit and miss.

I thought the Cleito coil was bad so I put in the .2 coil and run at 60 to 65 W and I get the same experience.

I've tried long slow lung hits, short quick lung hits etc. I've noticed that if I do a quick lung hit, I miss the flavor etc, but sometimes on a long lung hit, the juice just seems (not burnt bad, but just off tasting bad.)

The other setup I have which runs the Melo III mini seems to perform flawlessly at .3 ohm and 40W but I mainly use this one for fruits/sweets.

Has anyone had any bad experiences with the cleito. I notice the cotton is a lot taller and if the juice drops down below the top of the cotton, it does start to affect the performance.

Also, one quick question about lung hits - I usually do a long slower vape and right near the end of the vape, I start to really get a sweeter taste hitting my throat/tongue. I don't mind it as much, but just curious if its just the sugars in the juice that really are starting to come out at the hotter temps.

Sorry, not really new to vaping so much as I am to sub-ohming.

Did you prime the coil? I've notice that priming the coil with the Cleito is a must although I prime all coils. Plus try vaping a little higher wattage 50 watts. This is only an opinion.

Yeah I primed the coils and I still get this weird flavor happening. I dunno, I'm trying the same juice in my melo iii and I'm not getting any of those weird flavors coming through so I don't know if its just the clapton coils or what.

BTW, do you know what I mean about the sweeter taste at the end of a longer vape? Are there sugars in e-juice?

I have the same issue with the clieto I bought it for the flavor as I've heard it's top notch but thus far I'm not a fan.

I run the cletio .4 coils at 40 to 45 watts daily. Always prime...drip down inside til I see it on side holes and then wet the sides and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes before I use it...only get a few cotton hits.
The only time I got a weird taste was when I was sent the .4 ss coils by mistake.

When I had my clieto I used to do the presoak and baby it through the first tank full slowly upping the wattage. But the first tank always had a off taste to me

I'm not a fan of the SS .4 coils either nor the .2. Now the .4 that came with it, it's been the best flavor and tank hands down for me and the juices I like.
