New and Clueless, Help!

I want to start vaping, i want to get into cloud chasing and tricks. I know nothing about anything when its comes to vapes and mods. Im pretty good mechanically though so i should be able to catch on somewhat quick. Anyone have a good starter set in mind for what i want? nothing too expensive or too cheap though (dont want to have to replace parts right away) Let me know thanks!

Sigelei 213.. and for a good rda check out a goon from 528 customs..

while it's a good watt mod, it's still "only" 155 watts and the TC doesn't work at all and sigelei hans't doen anything to fix it and it's not firmware upgrade-able so not a mod I'd recommend

a smok alien kit is a great choice right now. well built plenty of power good tank to start with will give you plenty of flavor and clouds.

Best box mod for overall IMO right now is the Hohmwrecker G2. other options are the Smok Alien, P4U IPV5

good tanks would be the TFV8

Good RTAs would be the Boreas, Supreme, Griffin 25 plus, OBS engine

Good RDTA would be the avacdo 24mm or Azeroth

Good RDA would be the tsunami 24, or a velocity v2 clone

all these items are very reasonably priced

Ok so i researched all of your guys suggestions... so i got the Sigelei 213, and the TFV8. Now other than changing the watts settings on the segelei, what else do i need to change or should change? i dont want burn the coils and like i said i dont have much of an idea what im doing quite yet so i dont wanna ruin anything right away while learning.

All you need to do is adjust watts. The tfv8 has the recommended wattage printed on the coil. Start at the lowest amount and work your way up until you find the one you like for your vape. Also make sure you are using good batteries like samsung or lg and charge outside of the mod

I've had really good luck with the Oct coils, been using the same two for almost a month now. Not maxing the wattage out makes a huge difference in longevity. Been using both at 80 watts, which has plenty of flavor and vapor to suit my needs, nice cool flavorful vape.

On the Sigelei 213 with the v8t8 at .15 at 120w-180w im pulling more than the 25amps, i was told it was a regulated device i wouldnt allow it to vape beyond the safe points... is it safe to vape at 120-180w at .15 with 25amp continuous batteries and or 20amp batteries as well

yes it's safe. that mod only does like 155 watts anyway ( i know it's listed as 213 but it doesn't do it. Proof
)

I would suggest a RX200S rather than the Sigelei 213. The reason is because with the RX200S you get 250w and 3 cell which means battery life will be better and the wattage is true.

For a tank I would definitely suggest the TFV8. It can blow some massive clouds which is exactly what you want and paired with the rx200s, you'll be having an excellent setup. With the TFV8 you'll be able to rebuild the coil should you wish to. You could use premade coils for now and once you feel confident enough you can try building your own coils.

i wouldn't suggest either. RX has poor wiring and a poor 510 pin. too many issues. using it over 100 watts is typically a bad idea in most situations. lots of failures. moreso then any mod i've seen followed by the cubiod. I'd suggest the Smok Alien over the RX by far or if willing to spend a little more, the hohmwrecker G2.

I do agree about the TFV8 though

Nothing compared to the hohm wrecker g2 That mod is a beast.

I've been using so far 2 RX's and haven't had any problems with either so far. I hear you about the mods faults, I did see some people having connection problems but I guess I was lucky enough to get good stock

what batteries are you guys using cause if ran in series amps dont stack (if i remember correctly), but in order to reach 200+watts with a .1-.2 ohm setup would require a huge amount of amps? for instance 9V with .1 wouldnt the require a huge amount of amps?

using a regulated mod you don't' have to worry about it. Most of us (myself included) use samsung 30q or LGHG2 batteries. Most dual battery mods are made to be used with 20amp batteries

Oh not to be annoying haha, but can u explain why in a regulated mod you dont need to worry... sorry but it will help me get a better understanding.

i did go on steam engine and seen that dual batteries on a regulated mod can go up to 37 amps at 7.5 volts at 273watts.. but it doesnt say why it can. does anyone know why regulated you can but unregulated you cant?

there are protections built in. I couldn't give you the exact the reason as I'm not sure why myself and every board is different but they all have protections so they won't draw more from the battery then it could handle. unless i was to get schematics on a specific device, I wouldn't be able to pinpoint the exact reason

so is it safe to say that if i get any regulated mod, i can use it on whatever wattage setting it allows me to go up to safely with any 20amp batteries? no matter what resistance im firing with?

yes but the mod might limit your wattage or fire lower then stated for safety. I fired a .14 ohm on my alien with 2 LG HG2 batteries at 220 watts and it was fine.

Regulated mod does all the calculations and adjusts volts, amps, watts, etc so you never need to worry about how many amps your coil is using, the IC does all that. Basically.. it allows you to use higher watts, but does not require a huge power surge to get there. The ohms law calculator will help demonstrate this a bit. Like say your battery is 25 amp sustained.. and you want to vape at 40watts.. well you don't need 25 amps to use 40 watts.. the mod regulates that.

Correct. BUT only use Samsung, LG or Sony. Get used to using only these brands. That way, if you get into more advanced mods later, you wont be tempted to use rebranded factory 2nds. They might be like.. $2 more.. but if those people in the stories you hear about getting burned because the battery exploded had been using them, they wouldn't have gotten hurt or at least not as badly. (provided their mod has vent holes, which nearly all do)
For example.. a samsung 25R will vent all the way down to 0 volts. Where as other cheaper batteries just explode.

Word of advice.. if you are using high wattage builds, spend a couple $$ on a heat sink to go between your tank and the 510pin It keeps the chips from cooking.

I like Tsunami, TwistedMesses and MutationX V4 RDAs for clouds. I have a Kennedy coming for kissing coil builds. There is a cloud chasers forum on here as well. With a few builds and videos. Oh, and if you are dubious about a build, don't use it until you ask about it. :) With regulated mods, it is mostly about the number or wraps on your coil and surface area. For example.. on a regulated mod, 8 wraps of kanthal on a 3.0mm core will give better clouds than 6 wraps. I try not to go more than 8 wraps, because at higher wattage the wick tends to burn out in the middle of the coil.
