Etiquette, juices and mailing list

Hi there, I'm new here and I've just started vaping. 13 years of smoking and hoping to quit. I have some questions that I hope to get answers to.

Firstly, I'm not sure how it works in other countries but I usually go into a shop and i try some juices. Even if I don't like anything I feel obligated to purchase one. A friend one mine said it wouldn't be cool for someone to try so many juices and leave empty handed. I was just wondering what was the consensus on that.

Adding on the first question, I haven't found a juice that I really like. I think I've narrowed it down to creamy and disliking fruity and chocolaty stuff. Most stuff have a very synthetic flavor that feels very fake. I like just a hint of flavor with more smoke. The ones I've picked up so far tend to have rather strong flavoring though. Can I get some suggestions on where to look in terms of flavor?

I've accidentally signed up for the mailing list thinking it was the sign up, d'oh. How do I turn it off?

Oh lastly, I'm not versed on the jargon yet but I'm running a IJUST2 mod with an Aromamizer RDTA tank. Given the thin frame, it's a little fragile standing up especially when I'm out having food with friends. Laying it flat made it leak a pool of juice. Is there any way for me to lay it flat without leaking? I'm using a single coil if that helps.

That's all for now, thanks for reading. Hope to make this my go to for vaping information.

For the alerts/E-mail, go into your settings in your profile here and un click the e-mail notifications box.
For the juice flavors, you may have to try a few before you find one you like.
For the leaking re-check the orings and airflow, and also look for some threads here that talk about that particular tank for tips
Lastly, welcome to VU, enjoy the forum:)

Finding flavors you like is certainly an elimination process. When you find the right flavor/brand combo you'll know its the one for you.
The iJust2 was designed with a sealed tank. It was never meant to have a RDTA on it. Only thing I can suggest here is to close the airflow before you lay it down... but know that drippers, in general, are not meant to be laid down.
I'm the same when it comes to sampling/purchasing. The last shop I went to I sampled prolly 10-15 juices and felt obliged to make a purchase from the shop. But I don't think it has to be juice... you could always pick up a tank, rda, wire, cotton... I think any purchase they'd be happy with.

Thank you! That's very helpful. I'll try closing the airflow. Good idea on the purchase, I don't know how to coil yet but my friend is planning on teaching me. Next time I'm at a shop and pick those stuff instead. Are there any creamy flavors you can recommend I check out that are generally liked?

As far as the etiquette, you're not obligated to buy anything Simply because you sampled juices, but it is a good idea to at least be in the mindset of wanting to buy something before you go in. The only time I'll go to a shop without intent of buying is if it's somewhere I haven't been and Simply want to see what they have, but if I do take a trip to a shop (that I've been to before), it's always to buy something, usually coils.

If I like the shop I'll buy an accessory or soldering like coils or cotton or tank stands. A show of good faith.
But most sales people can recognize when a buyer genuinely didn't like anything as opposed to coming in for a free vape session.

I really don't sample juices when I go into a shop but I still feel compelled to buy something and almost always do.

@Aesthete18 welcome :)
Your flavor profile sounds similar to mine, I love creamy and custards.. Nothing overpowering and I don't like really fruity flavors.
I love Charlie noble vanilla custard, and vape wilds presteeped on cloud custard is pretty good.
The ONLY fruit flavors I like are from Orleans vapor company. They have a strawberry shortcake that is out of this world, in my opinion it's a very lightly flavored juice, so it doesn't fake or perfumey. I also like to mix their almond milk and Ponchatoula strawberry together, same with those flavors the strawberry is there but it's really light so you just get a hint of strawberry without that fakeness.
I also like rusty nails by Rasta vapors, it's a butterscotch, marshmallow vanilla pudding
And I like big Willy's custard which is a vanilla custard with a hint of butterscotch.

But if you like your flavor a little on the lighter side check out Orleans vapor company, really good prices and definitely good for all day vapes

@Aesthete18 (and @mandikay),

If you have not already, check out "Moo e-liquid".
They have 4 flavors; banana milk, vanilla almond milk, strawberry milk and neopolitan (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and milk) The flavors are well done and they are fairly light. They are kinda pricy but well worth it IMO. I've had all the flavors except the Neapolitan and really enjoy them. The two best are the almond and banana milk, definitely worth a try.

Just a thought but you might try diluting some of your E-liquid with straight VG if you prefer lighter flavors. That will also increase the clouds (by increasing the proportion of VG) but it will decrease the nicotine level.

Let's say you want 3mg/ml eliquid. Buy some 6mg/ml eliquid and add an equal amount of VG. You'll end up with 3mg/ml eliquid with lighter flavor and more clouds. And you will save money.

Also, most custard flavors taste better after they've steeped a bit.
