I binged this entire thread! Great pics! I LOOOOVE cats! To me they have more more personality that dogs ever will! I have a few pics of my fur babies with a little back story.

We had an outside cat that was a sweety! It would sit on my lap when I would go outside and smoke. She had a couple of kittens under our back steps then she got eaten by our neighbors dog about a week later. We could only find two of the kittens, so we brought them inside (they weren't even old enough to open their eyes yet) and bottle-raised them. They are now our kids! The orange tabby is "Azrael" and the Tortie is "Lilith"!

This was the day we brought them in.

Their bond with us is weirdly strong! I think they sincerely think we are their "parents"! For instance, Azrael will sit on top of my chair and "clean" my hair everyday! When I pick him up and hold him he'll clean my arms! He's my baby! LOL!

AWWWW :inlove::inlove:

I love how beautiful they are and love the names you picked for them. I'm so sorry you lost the mama, but you did a great job raising them. :inlove::inlove:

Aww. Sweet kittehs. I have a soft spot for torties (as I'm the fur-parent of two).

Meow? Our new little kitty! Named...... Isabelle..... (I didn't pick it) I wanted Astrid named after Walter's assistant on Fringe but the wife didn't go for it :( Well tempered except in the middle of the night when she jumps on my head when I'm trying to get some z's

Cut her nails for the first time today, watching her trying to climb up on our bed was mildly amusing, eventually put a step stool beside it ^__^

Yes her eyes do shoot fireballs!

I love my two feminine felines, but one was almost feral when I got her as a kitten seven years ago. Last night I had to catch her (and she hates being picked up). She went running and hiding, so I couldn't throw a towel over her to wrap her up like a burrito.

Manual catch resulted in screaming (her) and bleeding (me). Deep puncture wounds as she was biting as hard as she could.

Now my hand is swollen and red. Probable Pasteurella multocida infection, so off to the Dr. I go.....

Well that is truly bizarre. When we moved, we kept the kitten that had shown up on our carport a month before, as we had already more or less adopted her. But, a kitten which we think was her sibling showed up just a few days before the move, and we decided to take it to the animal shelter; with my allergy, 1 cat is pushing it, 2 would definitely be overkill. While trying to capture this feral feline, it bit my husband quite badly. He never went to the doc, never did anything but bandage it and apply neosporin; the bandage was mainly to keep from bleeding all over everything while we moved. Never infected, never a single problem with that bite.

I might give that a try next time I go to my mom's. I do know that Benedryl does absolutely nothing for me so maybe that'll work.:)

Really? I have days where the Zyrtec isn't quite enough, and have to take an additional Benadryl. My only complaint of Benadryl is that you have to take it every 4 hrs; Zyrtec is 24 hrs, more or less.

Never tried Claritin; I did once try Allegra, and it might as well have been a sugar pill, for all the good it did.

Yeah, my mom, though, buys the CVS brand claritin knockoff and that stuff rocks. But it is still too expensive for me, hell its expensive even for her.

Definitely try the generic Zyrtec; the pkgs I get are made/marketed by a company called "Assured", who seem to be the pill-pushers for Dollar Tree. :D They work very well, and I really don't notice any side effects (not as much sleepiness/fogginess or dry mouth/throat as I get from Benadryl).

I no longer have a webhost, so the hilarious kitty GIF I posted early in the thread will no longer display; since I now have a Tumblr acct, and it's been a while since I first posted it anyway, I thought I'd re-post this. It's one of the funniest cat GIFs I've seen, so definitely worthy of a re-post. :)

That's fucking hilarious!!! About 9 years ago a little cat showed up at our welding shop, about to have kittens and since they grew up feral we couldn't adopt them out. So we did what any animals lovers would and kept them all this is what happens to me at work everyday when I am working on paper work. But it gives me a reason to quit working and just keep putting the pen or paper clip w/e they're interested in back on the desk and laughing as they knock it off.

Well as I've said, I'm very new to kitty love, and I find the little beasts entertaining as all hell. :D Infuriating sometimes, absolutely (when you call a cat, it may or may not come to you or even acknowledge you.... it may have important licking to do! Or important staring-at-invisible-shit!)... but also sometimes very sweet, funny, and absolutely individual. I still love dogs, but cats are just cool. :D

I'm a dog person too but only because I absolutely despise cleaning litter boxes, so I have the next best thing to owning one. Work cats!!

Does nothing for me for cats but fall allergies around here it's a miracle worker!

My only remaining "hay fever" type allergy is to grass, in the summer -- June is the worst. But my cat allergy is by far my worst one -- well, maybe the penicillin allergy is worse, since it causes hives, but it's real easy to avoid that stuff! Avoiding cats is something I've wanted to be rid of, my entire life, and now finally, with Zyrtec, I am *almost* allergy-free with cats. I don't push it, I can't put my face on her, or kiss her, but otherwise, I'm a pretty normal cat owner now. :D But my husband handles the litter box detail. :D
