Hey guys I want to build a dual .5 ohm claptons with 316l ss, can anyone tell me what build would give me that. Just to clarify, I want .5 ohms on dual coils not single. Thanks

use steam-engine.org to help as a guideline

If you did a 26guage core wrapped in 32 gauge. You could do a dual at 10 wraps, 4mmID and it'll come out to about .5ohm

Any reason you are using SS316 and shooting for that resistance? SS has a lower resistance then kenthal so building higher resistance with it takes a lot of wraps

I have ss wire
I should probably get kenthal
SS is fine. I prefer it to kenthal myself. Works in watt mode and most devices TC mode. It just has a naturally lower resistance so hitting .5 is harder. Thats why i asked.

4 mm is to large for my rta
Which RTA? whats the max?

With a 3MM ID it would be 12 wraps, 2.5MM 13 wraps, 2mm ID would be 15 wraps.
Alternatively, you could just build it as a single coil instead and get .5 with 6 wraps around a 3MM ID which is more reasonable

What's a good single coil rta
Even though it doesn't say it, I see no reason why you can't do a single coil. Just plug the opposite side wick holes with cotton. I'd also personally buy kenthal wire over a new tank if it was me

Shooting lower than 0.5 will be fine for 40-50W with 26G SS.

I use my Griffin with 26G SS 316L at 34-38W, 240-250C. Don't worry about 0.5- what matters is the surface area you are heating, and also that the mod is capable of firing to your desired wattage-below 0.5 will allow your mod to do this with ease.

Use steamengine!!!!!!! What kind of vape do you want from the coil? Do you want to run them at 30 Watts or less, try some 28 wrapped with 38 or 40 awg. You want more wattage try 26 or 24 wrapped with 32 or 30. You want alot of watt say 100 or more try some 22or 20 in the core or double-up on the cores with the smaller wires.
All can be done at .5ohms with claptons. Of course it get harder to do the thicker the wire(s) get. Why do you think you are limited to .5ohms????? You could probably do as well with more or less ohms.. I would be targeting vape quality, surface area, heat flux and heat capacity..... Let the ohms and watts fall where they may, to provide the others.

I'm a flavor junky. Now I'm doing basic spaced coils. I got claptons .5 single and put them on my rda so dual gave me .25 I don't like it as I do with dual spaced at .5 that's why I want to try claptons at .5 dual
