Half Century

Next week I will be celebrating my 50th Birthday. This week I will be celebrating 60 days smoke free. Who would of thunk it? It took me almost half a century to find something that I could do to finally get me off those darn cigarettes.

Just wondering how long it took you before you gave them up and if it was as long for you as it was for me. I went through gum, patches, pills, blues, almost everything and nothing was working and finally told my doctor I was about to give up when he told me to hit the Vape Shop. Really?

It took me 2 weeks of passing the place before I finally made the left into the parking lot. Now, 2 months later and over $700.00 into it, I am smoke free. I would have never guessed I would be "Vaping" let alone not smoking. All I can say is WOW!

Congratulations! Yes, I smoked for 40 years - tried all the various quit methods, longest quit was 4 months of agonizing misery. Picked up a throwaway ecig one day and haven't had a cigarette since - best of all I haven't even wanted one! And congratulations on your 50th too :)

Wow. Your story sounds a lot like mine!

Took me 2 weeks as well.

What kind of gear are you using?

I started out with the usual "Starter Kit" A eGo type 650 mAh battery with a disposable tank and a free bottle of juice. Now I have a choice of a Vamo V5, a MVP 2 or one of four eGo style batteries. My go to device is the Vamo or MVP 2 with the Aspire Nautilus or the Mini Protank 3. I like the adjustable Air Flow on these and have gotten quite spoiled with them.

Just passed my 90 days of being Smoke Free. I thought when I would have made it this long, I would feel like a kid again with all this energy and stamina and finding out that this is not the case. Guess the age is making itself known to me more and more.

Congrats on 90 days free, yeah 50 sucks hoping 60 is better. After 40 yrs smoking ( 3 packs a day). I have cleared 20 mos. without a stinky. Never wanted to be the guy that bitches about smokers, but now I can't stand the smell. Love the Vamo's , sport 2 every day to work plus a Cana box. Fought off rebuilding for a long time, then got a KFL+ wow, took vaping to a new level. Now I rebuild exclusivly, seems to be the natural progression, fight the good fight-screw big tobacco.

Yea I have a Vamo and a MVP 2 and love them both. I find myself thinking about RDA's & Dripping more often then I would like but I am still getting over the initial cost of getting set up with what I like in devices and juices. I think I am settling down in that regard but am not ready to rush into something that will eventually cost me more money right now. Christmas is right around the corner and the spousal unit informs me that I need to set my "Priorities".

Thank you Jovial for the Wishes
