Hello!!!

it is good to know that I am not alone on this . :)

It is my first day without smoke any cigarette. I am using Cool Fire IV with tank Aspire. (flavour Heisenberg). I have been smoking 1 pq of cigarette per day over 10 years , maybe more.

I feel ok today , it is just my first day but I miss my cigarette already. I dont know why. I am using 18 mg . I think is more an psychological issue more than anything else.

I will try to carry on with my electronic cigarette, but it is being a bit hard. I would like to know if the first week it was hard for you too or if this is normal the first week.

Thank you :)

You may need a tad higher nic mg juice to get you through the first stages of quitting, I know some gas stations still sell, 20 or 24mg, maybe pick up a small bottle of that and see if that takes the cravings away. Good luck and welcome to VU:wave:

Hi alba4a and welcome

It took me 3 weeks to put down cigarettes, after smoking for 30 years. I do believe part of it mental, sure. You spent 10 years with a cigarette within reach to get you through the bad times, to celebrate the good times and just because you could! I was the same way, so Yes, I do think it's normal.

Not only did we smoke because we could, but we got addicted to all the chemicals that are in cigarettes. If you have one, try not to be too hard on yourself, but to keep at vaping. Each time you pick up the vape, the further you can distance yourself from smoking. It was new to each of us at some point. Some had no trouble quitting immediately, some struggled a bit more.

Stay hydrated, try hard to vape through the "wanting", but don't beat yourself up, if you do smoke. You might even feel bad for a few days, or so, but water will help to flush it all out of your system.

Good luck to you!

As stated above it is not a cardinal sin to have a smoke when transitioning to vaping. As stated above using a higher nicotine liquid helps more, I when I tried starting to vape full time and had put down my last smoke I carried 2 tanks with me, 1 a 36mg, the other a 24mg. The 36mg was for when stress was high, right after waking up, right after eating, basically for when the urge was really high, and the 24mg was for the rest of the day, month later these became 24mg and 18mg. Best advice though, when you get urges, try using the vape first, if it goes on for more than 5 minutes, step out and have 1/3 to 1/2 a smoke, and return to vaping, this helps get just enough of what is in the smokes you are craving to subside.
This period can last a couple of weeks up to a couple months so don't beat yourself up over it, not every smoke you have is a loss, every smoke you do not have to have is a win, have to retrain the brain. Stay thoroughly hydrated, water, juices, also diluted teas and green teas to signal the body into flush mode (cranberry juice and green tea together can cause the body into a flush mode) to flush the other toxins out of your system faster, basically increase your fluids intake, especially water. Find a straw, cut it to lengths of a smoke to keep your hands busy, or to hold in your mouth to chew on to retrain that aspect of smoke addiction, after a month replace this fully with your vape if you can.

Good luck, and welcome to a better tobacco free healty life style =)

I was a pack and a half a day smoker. Started with 12 mg and until I could Vape on higher temp. Then went down to 6mg I believe it took me 1-2 weeks to kick cigs for good. Don't give up you have to find the right set up for your self . Between the nicotine and the temperature, once you find that you'll never go back to cigs. We all been there (Vape on)

it's going to be tough for a little while. i went back and forth between cigs and vaping for several weeks before finally kicking the habit. that was 2 1/2 yrs ago. the important thing is don't give up!
good luck

Lol, I was a dual user for about a year slowly going from a pack a day to a couple smokes a day before I fully gave up smokes.

If you are dying for a smoke, have one but if you can refrain, more power to you... don't grab a smoke.

After I quit completely (granted, I cheated for about a year) I would say the first 2 weeks was rough even though I was down to only 1 or 2 smokes. After a month I could hang out with people that were smoking and had no craving.

I wish there was good tobacco flavord juice when I got off smokes but they all sucked. Doodlebug's ejuice and many other places (including Vash on this forum) make juice by soaking tobacco leaves in juice for a long time. They call it NET, Naturally Extracted Tobacco.

I still vape NET's at least a couple times a week when I have a craving for a smoke... usually when I'm having a few cerveza's

For the most part I like the bakery flavors but a higher nic level than usual NET takes care of that occasional I want a smoke craving.

Good luck... you will feel better, smell a hell of a lot better, your room won't stink from the clothes in the laundry basket, your teeth will stay white after you whitening them... you will have more money left for cerveza's

Smoked about a pack to a pack and a half per day for 26 years.
I slowly transitioned over a few months.
For a while I "rewarded" myself for making it certain time frames (a day, 2 days, a week, a month) by having a cigarette.
When the "reward" seemed more of a punishment, I knew I was done with cigarettes.

Yeah I switched over gradually, over about a month. I could never have done it all at once, feeling deprived and resentful. So at first, I tried to substitute vaping for smoking all that I could, but if I really truly wanted an actual cigarette, I'd go have one. The incidence of really truly wanting one kept going down and down, and finally I lit one one day, it tasted like burnt shit and nothing much, no throat hit, just burnt ick... and I asked myself why I was still bothering with the stupid things, put it out, and went indoors to my vape. I didn't light too many more after that before I just stopped bothering with them; they didn't give me anything I couldn't get from my vape, except a lot of stink and poison.

Not a problem, that is another aspect of vaping, veterans giving their experience and a support group to help with the transition, we've all been there and know of most of the road bumps you'll encounter. It may feel worse but in the end once over the major road bumps it smooths out and gets better ;)

Welcome to VAPING UNDERGROUND
not sure if this will help you but here it goes:
35 years of smoking, 15 years of 3 packs of Malboro a day, last October tried vaping with one smoke left in my pack, after two days i looked at the last smoke in the pack and decided to smoke it after all i did pay for the darn thing might as well smoke it , after about 8 puffs i started chocking and the smell bothered me too much and that was my last stinky, ever since i have not looked for or desired to smoke a stinky.
if you smoked unfiltered cigarettes than perhaps you may want to up your nic but do be careful because you may get nic overdose ( google for symptoms of nic overdose)
here is a video review of Cool Fire IV :
Wish you all the best and just have few more vape-puffs every time you think of smoking.

Here's a suggestion... Think of your favorite fruit or dessert and go to the vape shop and ask if they have anything that sounds yummy. The sooner you get away from the taste of tobacco and closer to wanting a "lil" snack the better the chances of becoming a non smoker.
I can't stand the smell of cigarettes anymore.
Good luck and keep on juicin

Well I am lucky that I dont really like cervezas hahaha. I hate the smell and the taste of the cerveza... I am living in England,,, it semms like everybody here drinks Cidra, right? :D..Well, i think everybody here drink too much haha

It's not an everything or nothing game either. I was on 20-30 a day and it took a little time until I found the right device and flavours that would get rid of those cravings.
Smoked regular cigs sometimes until I just though "right, I'm gonna do this properly", researched all the mods etc and found myself the right set up to fully kick the habit. The K3 aspire was by initial life saver, but now that seems ages ago, and I wouldnt touch a cig again.
One of the problems with the e-cig market is that it all seems really alien and complicated at first, but do your homework and speak to your guys at the stores. They've all been there and most will talk you through the options. Good luck!

You will find a couple of favorites and then be able to add to your staple favorites. I read alot of reviews when I see a vendor I'm interested in trying. It seems like every company has the same flavors but some are better than others. I have recently tried out budget juices and finding them to be really good. Check out Vape Craft and Mad Cow.

Smoked 40 years, at the end 2 1/2 packs a day and dipped snuff at the same time. When I quit, 4 cigs a day for three days, then 2 a day for five days. Then done. Most have been here and made it. You can too ! Best of luck to ya and a prayer for your success.

Which part of Spain are you in? Finnvape in Fuengirola deals online and can do express deivery if you are not near them..again if you are near Torremolinos there is an excellent vape shop run by a very knowledgeable Spanish lady on the road opposite the top of the Called San Miguel. I have used both shops and can seriously recommend them.

Congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking - try to remember - every hour and every day you don't smoke is a major victory but don't beat yourself up if you have the odd smoke in the early stages.
