Hi, Ive changed the coils on the Aspire Atlantis Mega Tank from 1 Ohms to 0.3 Ohms.

The reading I get on the Sigelei 213 is :

Ohms: 0.3
Volts: 4.5
Amps: 15 amps
Watts: 70 Watts

Im on 70 watts because the coil came with instructions stating Best between 70w -80w.

I wanted to know if this is considered safe for vaping or should I lower the wattage? Im using the LG HG2 18650 (Brown Colour) Batteries.

You're good to go.

using the LG HG 2 batteries with a regulated mod you are safe at any wattage. The mod won't let you do anything crazy.

That's safe enough, although a drastic change in vaping style from using 1 Ohm coils!

What Wattage were you using with the 1 Ohm coils?

The manufacturer's 'recommended' power ratings on the heads are often overstated, as all the manufacturers are in the middle of a 'numbers war' at the moment, thinking that the ones with the highest, ridiculous wattages are the 'best'.

It's often wise to first 'prime' your wick by dropping juice on it until it's soaked in and saturated, and then start vaping at a Wattage that's, say, 50% of the lower limit printed on the coil, and then gradually work up the power until you've reached your 'sweet spot'.

I agree, it is a drastic change in ohms. As long as it works for you. Vape on

it wasn't a deliberate decision to switch from the 1 Ohm coil to the 0.3 Ohm ...had to cuz the 1Ohm coil burnt out and I started getting burnt hits. I had to get out the spare coil that came with the Aspire tank which was a 0.3 Ohm coil. The spares I have now are of 0.5Ohms.

And how are you finding the vape with your new coils? Quite different, I imagine.

The vaping experience using the 0.3 Ohm coils are simply amazing.
The vapor production and the ejuice taste is just too good when compared to the 1 ohm coils I was using.
I wonder why it is that way. I will be trying out the 0.5 Ohm coils next to see which of the 3 ranges suits me best.
So far the 0.3 Ohm coils hits the sweet spot for me at 70 Watts.

It sounds like you might be a DTL SubOhm vaper, by the sounds of it - are you inhaling directly to lung, I take it, at those wattages and resistances?

The 1 Ohm head would have been suited more to MTL-syle vaping.

Yeah - I thought so. :) I've rediscovered my love of SupraOhm, MTL, flavour-chasing tanks like the Taifun GT2v2 and the Flash-e-Vape v3 - I went off the 'Big Air', SubOhm stuff - I now wish I hadn't bothered buying my SXK Wine and my Bellus, although the Bellus vapes OK for me in single-coil mode with all but 2 of the 32 air holes closed of. ;)

The mod will only do things to prevent damage to the mod. While this may also protect you..... Your protection is NOT the goal. You can still do crazy and even stupid things as long as those crazy things fall between the safety/technical limits of the mod. There a reason the mod says to use a minimum level amp battery.. And its not that it needz that battery to produce the outputs...... It needs the high amp battery to produce the outputs without melting down.

exactly, by using good batteries plus the built in protections of the mod, he is safe
