I have an 80 watt eleaf totally stock using the 0.5 stainless coil. Have it set at 70 Watts, stainless steel setting, 220 degrees Celsius. I haul on it for a second and a half for a good hit and good cloud. Does this sound right?

If you are satisfied with the quality of the vape then it is good. If you don't like it, adjust it up or most likely, down.

Look for thickness and flavor of cloud..... Wattage and air should be paired to temperature and power...... Simple formula...... Power + Coil Ohm divided by afc + Juice = Satisfaction

I had it set at 40 Watts with the temperature at 180 or 190 and I was getting temperature protection constantly
180 to 190 it's not enough temperature for a Vape.....it's setting your temp protection on 40 watts..... 40 watts you should be around 300 to 320degrees

NC at 180ºC isn't bad, but SS, yeah, your 70W, 220ºC is about where I am. Note that the TC cuts off the wattage once the desired temp is achieved, so leaving it on 80W will likely get you the same experience. You're probably only using/siting at around 30-40W before TC kicks in.
