.5 coil (pre-made) wire limit the watts

hello

I have rx2/3 with 2lg hg2 batteries with tfv8 tank, I built a.5 ohm coil, tested it but it was reading .43, the issue is when i connect this coil, the rx2/3 max voltage degraded to 87, when i put back the stock .16 coil the full voltage of 200 came back normaly, what could cause this issue?

Regards

Hi I'm not a pro but from what I know you shouldn't Vape a 0.5 coil on higher then 80w

You really need to learn your terminology, as you're using volts in where watts should be. When you change to a different ohm coil, the wattage will change to match your settings of the new ohm level. Also, when you build a higher ohm on a regulated mod, it can restrict the watts if you hit the max amperage discharge threshold of the mod, for safety.

I never vaped more than 60 on stock coils, My concern is, is this normal for the device to lower the watt? I am concerned about safety and i was afraid that there is somthing wrong with my built and will explode in my face lol

So I understand that it is normal for the mod to lower the wattage for safety, correct, and i can use the coil in the correct wattage which is 30-40 watt?

Thanks again

Yes. I think it limits your wattage based on the coil you put in. But get to know your mod better. Do more research on it

Use this site to see what you change by changing ohms or watts: http://www.steam-engine.org/ohm.asp
When you changed the coil to the .43, it would require the mod to use 9.3V to fire it at 200w, vs the 5.66V on the .16 coil, beyond the capability of the mod. So, it lowered watts to its max it could possibly do safely. Look at all the display readings, and it will point out the issue, if you understand what you are looking at, and know the max limits of the mod and batteries.

A mod is limited by amps and volts.
With a low resistance coil you are going to hit the amp limit at high wattage and with a high resistance coil the volt limit at high wattage.
You should read your mod specs to see what those limitations are.
I suppose that in 3 batttery configuration the voltage limit will be higher.
In your case if you want to go higher in watts you'll have to build lower.
If you don't want to use high wattage and are just worried that something is wrong, then nothing is wrong.

The amp limit is a safety feature, the voltage limit is just the maximum the circuit can supply with the provided batteries.

This is the coil, as i told you i am new
I know it is ugly lol
Should i use it?

Is it dual .5 coils or each one is .5 ohms?

I used the attached prebuilt wire, it should read 2.5 ohm as i understand, but it is reading .35!

Yep it is a max output voltage issue with the mod in 2 battery mode.
Some 2 battery 200w mods will just lie to ya and say they are giving you 200 watts when they really are not. At least the RX2/3 is honest :)

Each coil is .5 +- so 2 coils =.25ohm+-

The coil on the right looks awfully close to the edge, make sure that the mod shows the same resistance without and with the top on

Not sure what your resistance target is
