Such nice work guys, always impressed. Now I'm sure it's been asked before many times but is there any real difference on flavor between fused claptons and aliens?

Yes, to a point, compared to a normal 2 core fused claptons aliens will ramp faster and burn hotter, have more surface area, and have more crevices for juice to vaporize in...

So I bought an underground tube mod and this is the first time I made an alien coil using 26g cores. A whole lot easier than 30g.

Pardon me for the wrong post placement. This is the first time I used posts like that. Fixed it after taking the shot and realizing it should be left lead to the middle hole.

Coil placement is a preference thing...dont worry yourself about it if you have it working well. There is no right or wrong when installing them, some of religious beliefs on wicking and coil strength due to how they install it but it really doesnt matter as long as one leads goes into one side and the other into the other side.

I had a hard time getting it cottoned up properly until I realized that the left leg was sort of blocking the way.

Thanks raymo2u!

Nah, i wish I could wrap with those gauges. This is 3x26gn80/38gn80.

Going to rebuild for my series box in a bit. Hopefully I get the interlocking aliens or triple core staggered fused clapton down.

This is a #FailedBuild but Ill post it anyways...
CSSFC Variant
Using some .2mm x .2mm Suare wire fused for the center I though it would be cool to use it to "split" some corrugated Ribbon and then frame it with more Ribbon.

SPECS: 2 x .2x.2 Square Wire Fused in 48N80/ 10 x .4R/28g 316L/40g 316L/44KD

Why is it failed?

That build i did was a bugger to squeeze into the limitless post holes, took me a while but managed without deforming the wire inside the posts, any thicker and i'd of had no chance

The last wrap is kind of wonky..when I inserted it into the post and clamped down it was too wide and the post made the center collapse which made the corrugated ribbon jump to the center...Its not a perfect build because its too wide and it caused it to warp in the posts.

I find them spitty and a bit airy unfortunate but they are fun to make...I really dont vape alot of the builds I post, they are built for fun and IG ;) I just like building.
I am however LOVING this build below....Its a .05 but its not explosively hot like most other coils in that range but it does ramp up instantly...the heat itself is just where I like it though!

Its not very difficult to make (well 50g can be irratating) but try it with 40g or 42g for the outer wrap.

You will need:
(10) 12" Strips of .4 Ribbon (Its easier to work with then .3 Ribbon and less resistance then .5 Ribbon)
4-5 Pieces of Ribbon 2"-3" Long
2ft of 28g (I like 28g 316L)
Spool of 38g-50g (Better to try with 38g-42g first)

Making a Ribbon Slider:
Get your wire together on the drill and hold it with your hand. With your other hand slide the end under a finger holding the wire. The loop the ribbon loosely around the wires and then pinch it with nylon pliers. It should hold your wire together securely and be able to slide as needed.

For starters take a length (roughly 2 feet) of 28g, loop it through your swivels and then into your drill. Then make a opening through the wire by putting your finger between the wires and slide it end to end, it should bow out the ends and make a space between the wire. Next get your ribbon strips together and cut flush on both ends, clip a few small pieces of ribbon about 2 inches long after wards and have them handy. Try and get the ribbon between the wire on the drill and then use the 2" pieces of ribbon and make "Ribbon Sliders" with them. As you make each slider slide it further and further down the wire until there is one almost ever 2-4 inches on the wire.

Now you can start your wrapping! Go slow and try and make it as tightly wound as you can, follow the wrap for the cleanest results (dont follow to far behind with the spool or it will wrap backwards and you will have to fix it). Slide your Ribbon Sliders inch by inch until its all wrapped up to go.

Once your finished get what you will wrap it on. .4 Ribbon likes to be pulled outwards hard and wrapped, use pliers to bend the leads so the leads come out from the center of one direction.

So my Cthulhu III RTAs came in today. I tried some framed staples with 50 gauge like @raymo_2_u and they came out crappy. Gonna wick em up anyway and see how thry vape. They're 6 stacks of .4x.1 ribbons with 28 frames. 0.16 ohms.

They look gorgeous ;):inlove:
Trust me bud when I say those weren't my first or first time with working with 50g...I think somewhere in pages 30-40 of this thread is when I was really into 50g-54g and I made a bunch of builds...only a couple of them were posted as 90% of them failed worst then the one you posted..its been a process learning on how to manipulate it without it breaking....you may want to take some breathing exercises..not for stress but it helps you to learn to control your breathing, which will help holding the spool steady. If you think 50g is bad you try some 54g....Ive only made one successful build with it so far.

This was before I bought a decent Macro lens but I dont think it would of made any difference. This was the only succesful build I made with 54g below:
The center "wire" is actually 2 wires fused in 54g, it just looks like a chrome wire...

Thanks Ray. This RTA is a bitch to wick. But the flavor of the frizzy staple is outstanding!

Looks very similar to the Billow V3, cut the wicks to the decks edge and tuck what you can in the holes...no pack it, cut it into a "V" shape if your getting dryhits.

Ive got the Cthulhu V2...Im not sure If Id BUY the Cthulhu V3 after using it for a while..The Boreas, Tornado Nano and Mage RTA have become my new favorites..just about every other RTA out there so far Ive left on the shelf due to issues or inconsistencies with each of them..

I have the Boreas abd the Nano. But I really like the Limitless Pluss that I got from Chef's website. It's still my favorite. The Cthuhlu doesn't hold as big a coils as I thought it would.

Cthulhu RTA's are 2.5mm ID Coils usually...they are very similar in chamber size to the Alleria RTA. They are great for flavor with simple coils, not cloud/large coil rigs.

I didnt have much time today, Im trying to make a bulk order for AVS and I have been doing 10 hours a day at the drill and have about 3 more days of doing it until its filled..but I under-stretched one of the claptons for a length but then decided I would just keep it...Im going to make another and use them for a Series Box but for now here it is.

Finally got my wires! So here's my first successful framed staple coil. 2x28gka1 5x.4ka1 38gn80 single coil at .41 ohms. Sitting on my mcm underground series.

Holy shit stacking the ribbon wire is very challenging.

Would you believe that besides the pics you see of the wire I kept I made all this in 10 hours? Thats just over 100 PAIRS of Aliens...in 10 Hours....Just imagine how tomorrow is going to be when I start using a 3000rpm drill...should half the time at least for claptoning and decoring.

OhmBoyJosh is having a build-off called "CoilWars"..I thought I'd compete in it, this was the build I was going to enter today...it went amazingly until I coiled it and almost 3 and a half hours of making that build I had it collapse...heres what it was comprised of and before it was coiled up:

Single Ply of .4 Ribbon Claptoned with 46KD:

20160809_103616.jpg 20160809_103717.jpg 20160809_110611.jpg 20160809_114037.jpg 20160809_120237.jpg 20160809_120247.jpg

This is my actual entry into the contest...made this directly after and I really wish I had more then a hour to work with as I would of claptoned all the Ribbon in it first like the previous coil..

The pics don't catch the colors, I didn't feel like getting the light box out, but they were pretty cool.
Ive been taking pictures Outside...it does a ton more for colors and details then my lightbox does....give it a try, just dont do it in direct sunlight...

I was not impressed with the Cthulhu, but loved the flavor of the framed staple coils. So I made a new set for the Limitless, only used 46 gauge instead of 50 for the wrap this time. Came out much better.
