Does anybody have any ideas for FA Monsoon?

I think I made it standalone @ 3% & it was way sweet. I will try it at 2% to see if it's toned down some.

Any ideas for use in a recipe? I also got it in 30ml & don't know what to do with it.
I would check out the Stormy Smurf recipe in the VU recipe section. I haven't tried it myself but only because I done have all the ingredients yet. I really want to though. It sounds really good.
good question, only thing i can think of to do with mine is pour it down the drain!! lol.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

It's strong and sweet, for sure! I like 2% standalone, and it's definitely one that changes with age, so be sure to give it time if fresh is not for you. It is hard to mix with, very prominent in recipes. I think of it as a standalone flavor. Maybe that's a cop-out since I've never made a recipe with it.

 You don't like FA Monsoon?! Why? Too sweet?

na its not the sweetness, just dont like the flavor i guess.. i tried the recipe posted above, prob should of let it steep more, may give it another go a see what happens!!

HIC, could you give me some simple advice here? Lemon Sicily (FA) seems to be giving me problems. Not sure it is a bad batch or if the flavor itself doesn't work for me. What do you think would be a comparable ratio to use Lemon Sicily (CAP) instead?

Ok @HeadInClouds you got me lol! Just got Hic's German Peach Gummies & figured I would just whip it up... NOT lol! I figured since it was a "simple recipe" I would have all the flavorings, I mean I had everything for Hic's Prickly Peach, darn, have to place an order 1st.:tantrum:

aww, it's unintentional; on the bright side, all those flavors are great ones for mixing & in other recipes, so you'll get good use from them.

Several people have told me CAP Lemon Sicily works fine for them as a sub for FA Lemon Sicily - straight-up swap, no percentage change.
When CAP first released that flavor I tried it & made a note that it was closer to FA Lemon Sicily in flavor than any other lemon I'd tasted; it seemed not quite as strong as FA to me.
short answer: try the same amount first, but be willing to add more.

New today at HIC's Mixes: Japanese Fruit Mix

p Japanese Fruit Mix.jpg
"Inspired by fresh Asian pears and a popular Japanese brand of kiwi and lychee fruit candies. If you like FA Fuji flavor and fruit blends with sweet and tart notes, this is one for you. This recipe requires only diketone-free FlavourArt flavorings, including Pear. TFA Pomegranate is an optional addition."

Omg, a "new" recipe! :bunny:
Got it!
And I have all the flavors!
HIC going to mix it now, should I use the optional ingredient now or try it first without?

I think @Countrypami has these, they're pretty awesome, and stylish too!
I'd need five or six of them for flavors........ lol!
Omg! That's a lot of flavoring! My before HIC collection of Capella's & TFA are in the fridge in the garage. Don't know when I'll ever use them now, only rarely HIC will use flavoring other than FA.

Got it on Amazon, $33.99 it's pretty sturdy. It's wide enough so you can put 2 bottles back to back along the shelf.

Looks nice. I had to go to mason jars. The combined smell of the flavors was too much.
Yep. I'm find with my plastic bins for that very reason, plus I have them categorized in trays, so super easy to find. With that said, the ease of use of the shelving is excellent!

Same solution here for the smell, though I use shallower hardware bins with bottles on their sides so I can see the labels easily. This is an old pic and these two are pretty full now. Will have to add another.

This is from almost a year ago, there are five more bins full that have spread over to my desk, but it seems to work for me. The little snack size zip lock bags are like little "folders" that hold the flavors in alphabetical order. I have a book that lists what's in each bag, then another book that lists by vendor. The freezer, however, is a complete, unorganized mess...lol!

Curious to know @HeadInClouds what you replaced the Carribean Cooler with? In the original thread you say "outdated and replaced".

That one predates VU, back when ecf was the place to be, and people still used cartomizers. One flavor swap made a basic pina colada, then with some adjustments tastes much better: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-pina-colada.18824/. (These days I would say to double those percents for most people, like those notes mention.)

Meanwhile I have one in progress based on a cocktail called Green Eyes, which has a pina-colada-like base. That has also evolved to something different than planned; we'll see if something great comes of it or not. Pineapple-coconut is a great pairing to build on.

I agree about pineapple but my fa is too acidic for me. At least it seems acidic and I can't use it and don't vape any pineapple recipes.

Thank you for the explanation, much appreciated. For me, so far, I had no need to double up any of your recipes. They are perfect as is for my taste buds. Thanks for the link - off to there post haste.

Actual fresh pineapple is acidic & in my opinion FA is that flavor. TFA Pineapple is sweeter and some prefer it as more of a canned juice flavor. Both brands are strong, fairly equal strength, so I consider them completely interchangeable. Then again, some people just can't vape pineapple flavor, no matter the brand. Have you tried TFA's, or just no interest in pineapple?

I use those snack-sized zip locks bags, too. Mine then go into plastic Sterlite tubs.
I know you have lots more than you're showing there, @Teresa P :)

Oh my dear Lord, yes.....lol! That's a near year-old pic, there are at least five more of those little racks, as well as the small 5.5 cubic foot freezer we bought just for vape stuff. I actually got the idea for the zip locks from you, just don't remember which thread I read it in, but I don't have the office space for sterilite tubs, hence the drawer organizers. (The Dollar Tree is your friend....lol!)

I haven't tried tfa. I like eating pineapple and eat a can at a time sometimes. Don't know if I want to venture in to pineapple.

I've used the TFA anytime I see FA being used, and at the same percentages. It needs a little time to calm down, but I like it. I used to use FA, but somewhere along the lines my taste buds decided they didn't like it anymore. My taste buds have done some very strange things since I quit smoking. Stuff I used to vape all the time is no longer tasty to me, stuff I used to not like at all I can't do without. Very weird stuff.

Will add to my next order. Made an orange pineapple ice cream with fa pineapple. Boy the acid. Bad thing is the flavor was good. Dumped that recipe.

You might get that with TFA, as HIC mentioned, some just don't do well with Pineapple. Capella is another option, though, personally, I find it a bit more candy-like.

New today at HIC's Mixes : Iguana Colada

p iguana colada.jpg
"A very creamy blend of sweet tropical fruits. An Iguana Colada cocktail is a Piña Colada with sweet Midori melon liqueur. This takes it one step further by adding creamy papaya. The result is a luxurious vape - sweet, fruity, and creamy all through the inhale and exhale. This recipe requires only diketone-free FlavourArt flavorings, including Melon Cantaloupe, Papaya, and Jamaican Rum."

(nerd note: yes, I know a real Iguana Colada is green from the Midori; I chose to show it this color to better represent the cantaloupe-papaya flavor)
