Yea they are a bit slow on getting them out....Mine didnt ship for almost 2 weeks for the first one, the second and third I bought from shops that had them in stock...You ordered the Ti Goon right? If you want to let one go I may have to make a sweet deal...

I bought two TI and one SS. If they ever arrive, perhaps we could trade for some coils.

I would trade a bit more then coils for a Ti Goon bud...Maybe a Twisted Messes Squared Loaded and a slew of coils?

I haven't checked all the coils I already have you sent, if I'm not mistaken, you sent most in the .40-.45 range, correct?

I dont remember to be honest...if they were for series then yes they would be in that range

Were they the SS Claptons? If they were I think those were in the .2-.3 Range but you could mount the coils and then put it on a Mod to check the resistance to be sure.

You said yes, but I just didn't need any at the time. Hopefully when the Goons show up I'll order some.

The twisted messes and the twisted messes 2 are a builders dream. 3mm post holes, deep juice wells, shit they are awesome. I have 4 or 5 of them. They are my favorite attys and I have over 40 different ones. Check them out. They're damn nice!!

Some stuff I made last night/tonight..

50g Framed Staple....I cried about 3 times in intervals before wrapping the coils....I didnt want it to explode like last time I tried it...
8 x .3R/28N80/50N80

In the backround is my Pinky's fingerprint....to show the detail of how small this damn wire is!!

Im not done posting about this one yet so I dont have a "full bodied pic" of the coil up yet...

In the Midst of reviewing the Tornado Nano RTA I decided my first build would be some SS Aliens....this thing has as much room as the Boreas to build on but is slightly taller then the Goblin Mini and has the Looks of the Mage RTA....I love it so far!

That sucks about your drill dying. I can't believe nowhere had cordless drills. I'm in the midwest so maybe they're more common here? Not sure about auto parts stores but usually hardware stores have them. Especially the big box hardware stores like menards, lowes, home depot. I think lowes is where I picked up my makita set a few years ago, was like $179 or $199 - it was on sale for a decent price, came with 2 li-ion batteries, cordless drill, cordless impact and quick charger. Father's day sales are great for stuff like that.

I suppose the impact would spin some coils, though it would have to be paired with a chuck of some sort besides the standard quick release it uses for driver bits. The 2sp drill runs up to 1500rpm like yours, the driver runs up to 2300rpm. Although the 1420 in/lbs of torque may be a little overkill lmao.

The 3/3/3 Staggerton Variant kinda looks like a fret board or maybe a keyboard.

Me, I'm quite happy with my fused Claptons. I've made 2x26k/38N80, 2x26SS/38N80, 2x28k/38N80, and 2x30k/38N80. I made the 28 and 30 gauge Kanthal for my BF atties on my REOs. I didn't want to go too low on those. The 30 was for a BF Derringer as it has a small center post hole.

I just don't have the time or patience to practice making those works of art you and the other coil porn artists come up with. I'll just sit here and drool...

Today's Build...Staggered Staple Something Fused with Staged Heating...

Ive been trying my hand at editing the pictures but not trying to exaggerate or make it disproportional...bare with me! My phones camera is severly scratched up so all my pics are over exposed even with the exposure turned down, I use editing to fix that and make things more vibrant like how they are when seen with your eyes rather then looking through a fuzzy lens.

SPECS: 8 x .5R/3 x .4R/38KA1/40KD + 24g 316L SS

A Fused Staggered Staple/Clapton Variant.
This build was a pain in the ass to say the least...This is basically 2 Staggered Fused claptons with a Staple in the Center but its all Fused as one...the hard part was to get the fuse in right without and magnification.

Specs: 10 x .4R/26N80/38NKD/44KD (Single Coil - 4 Wraps/3.5mm ID @ .07 Ohms)

Just be prepared to have them in a long time. I'm already over 3 months on mine with no sign of wear. Just dry burn them when you rewick and they last a long time. Best coils I ever had.

You mean prepare to have them last a long time lol Most orders arrive within 2-3 days!

Indeed...I'm still using the same set of coils I bought from Ray three months ago too...and have about 15 more pairs of kanthal-nichrome I haven't used yet.

I can tell a difference in taste between the kanthal and SS, the SS being MUCH better.

Those last coils are crazy wide....each wrap is larger then most coils Ive made for people

Each wrap is almost as wide as: a centerpost on a 4 post RDA, a 5 Wraps 28g/38g Alien coil, or a tri-parallel 28g coil...just to gain you some perspective

Ive been looking at the Norris RDA

Its basically a 30mm Goon that can also go postless with many options for airflow and more

That may be the RDA coils start going into when they dont fit the Goon!

Jack...this ain't my first rodeo with Raymo...I still have a bunch of kanthal-nichrome coils I haven't used up yet....not sure if I ever will use them all. I've been using one set of coils for months, burn, wash, re-wick....still just like new, even using a strong magnifying glass I don't see a bit of deterioration whatsoever.

High Gauge Half Corrugated SSFC

I wanted to try something like this out a while ago and it just fell on the back burner until today. I love thin staggering and fusing on these types of builds but without magnification it can be quite difficult to get it done and done right....but I went slow and made sure the strands lined up by using the light from leds and the reflection of that light on the strands, this is how I basically checked every wrap as the drill turned.
I made a second length but used a thicker fused to see how it would turn out, one is 44g fused and one is 42g fused.

SPECS:
16 x .4R/28N80/40KD/44KD (4 Wraps/3mm ID @ .06 Dual Coils/ .12 Single Coil)
