what nic level do you choose?

I want to get my dad a joytech ego AIO for fathers day so he can quit smoking because I have been cigarette free for two months since vaping. When I first started i got my Nic level to high and had an unpleasant experience I don't want to turn him off such a great thing like vaping by getting to high of a Nic and making him feel sick. My dad smokes Marlboro reds and he smokes around 4- 6 cigarettes a day what level of Nic should I buy him? Also he didn't like flavors he wants a juice to taste as close to his cigarettes as possible any suggestions?

I started using 6mg but found that to be too much so I cut it down to 3mg and all is well now. I also cut down the power. I was smoking around a half pack a day.

I would say try 6mg; MB Reds are pretty strong, but he doesn't smoke many daily, so 6mg might be about right. I smoked around a pk a day but they were ultra-lights; 6mg worked well for me -- I also had terrible nausea from 18mg and 12mg, but at 6mg, I was able to start vaping regularly.

However that mod may not be the best choice, since I don't think it has wattage regulation -- you can't adjust it. New folks often need lower power so they don't cough so much, and may want higher power towards the end of the day, to get more TH.

4 to 6 cigs a day? yeah, I'd start with a low mg, too. 3 to 6. I couldn't put down cigs til I found other flavors. I was never satisfied with the ones I tried. BUT, I do hear good things about Smug Juice tobaccos.

Someone just gave me another suggestion of RYW4 from Maddcatt Vapors. He said that Smug Juice was really good, but it's better in a dripper than it is a tank, because the wick would need to be changed pretty frequently. That could be a real hassle if not using a dripper.... sorry about that.

Ya your probably right on the wattage thing but I know at first if he gets anything with adjustable wattage and anything more then just a fire button he will think its to complicated.

Maybe true. My first thing was an eRoll, extremely uncomplicated, and it still took me a while to get the hang of things. If I'd had regulated power right from the get-go, god only knows how confused I might have been. And it taught me that an unregulated vape isn't really that great, since it keeps getting less intense with each puff you take -- a valuable piece of info!

And of course, if he really likes it, he'll be contracting the shinyitis bug like most of the rest of us.

First nic level is dependent on 2 things the power levels you will be vaping at and you level of addiction. In General the higher the wattage the lower the nic number, the more cigarettes you smoke the higher the level.

I was a PAD smoker and started with 20-24mg/ml juices at Vaping at less than 10 watts using 1.5-2.5 ohm coils In Protanks. Today with todays mods, Assuming sub ohm coil. I'd probably start with 2 bottles of each flavor 1 at ZERO nic and 1 at 12-15. I'd would try the full strength juice out. If too much nic, then I use the Zero bottle to dilute the nic down to a tolerable level.
This is basically what I do today. I still vape unregulated. I make all my juices at 12mg and 50/50 pg/vg. Then before vaping I mix in some PG, VG or nic base to adust to the prefered nic and PG/VG ratios for the device I plan to vape the juice in. This is because Some of my atties work best in the 1-1.5ohm range other I use down to the .5ohm range. I the higher ohm (low power) atties I use 10-15 mg/ml and the Sub 1ohm atties 10mg/ml or less. If I vape at .5ohm or less I cut the nic down to less than 5mg/ml.

It sounds like the eGO AIO might just be the right entry level for him to try to see if he likes it. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna pick a couple up myself as backups to my Dovpo Vapeberri 40w mod. If he really does like the vaping experience and it helps him quit the stinkies, he can always upgrade his devices in the future as he gets more into the whole thing.

Yeah I got it it for him and he has not smoked a cigarette since. He's still getting the hang of it, but it is a nice little device for a beginner for sure. Very tight draw like an actual cigarette good mouth to lung.

You'll like it its cool and nice and small. You can change the l.e.d colors of the light to pretty sweet.

3 mg is okay, i am also a newbies, the 6 mg is too high for me, and as to the flavours , if he don't like other taste, you can buy tobacco flavour for her, it is more close to cigarette, hope my words are helpful with you,

I smoked a pack a day for many years. I got the eleaf ijust2 I am using 3.0. I plan on trying the most popular kits out now including the Kanger subvod and the aio. Cost is about two cartons of tobacco cigs. A sub 3.0 is very good for me.

Most people that just quit use the higher nic levels, with drippers doing the lower nic levels (or people weening off). So from what I've seen, the absolute minimum would be a 6mg, some go much higher, especially if using a pen.

Mods get you much, much bigger hits, so you don't need as high a nic level, but a pen is a really small hit, so you need higher nic to get the same effect. Especially when coming right from smoking, you want to be sure it's got enough to it so that he's not turned off from vaping thinking that it's all too weak. Personally I'd go to your local shop and see if they'll sell you smaller sizes (like 10 or 15 ml) and I'd get a 6 a 12 and an 18 if they can mix it there. Then let him see what he likes.

Since it's after the eighth, you'll have to buy the samples, they can be sold, but they can't be given away anymore.

Thinking the same, but usually lower than 3 is zero and if I was at zero for a time (a week?) I wonder if I would keep vaping. They say that mechanical addiction is a real thing. Or whatever it's called.

Now that I've started DIYing, I can make it whatever I want. Even at 0, I'll probably still vape. It's not even addiction at this point, I just like it.
