Hey all. Well, while I was out of town for a few days, my extra freezer that I was keeping my reserve nic in died :( It wasn't a huge loss, just 3/120 mls. What's the best/safest way to get rid of it?

You should be able to find a hazardous waste disposal place in your city, or nearby. Or use it in your garden , if you have one, as a pesticide. Search online for proper use, or maybe someone here has tried a mixture.

It wouldn't have "died" it would have just continued its normal rate of oxidization minus sunlight. It should still be good to go. Many of us not stockpile would have a bottle in room temperature out of sunlight for months and still have effective nicotine.

It shouldn't go bad in a few days. Regardless, nic obviously degrades and would do so pretty quick if diluted in lots of water.

I would dump it down the sink.

Ants nest....
Then again, if any survives and multiply you'd have an absolutely devastating strain of ants.

As others have mentioned, I wouldn't automatically assume your nic is bad. I left some out for far longer than yours was and other than a little oxidation, it was fine for my purposes. If your taste buds are really sensitive then it might not be okay for you but I would at least test it first.

As Time mentioned, dilution is the key to disposing of old or unwanted nicotine.

No need to dump it, for one thing, your freezer will stay cold for quite some time even without power.
And when you consider the shipping time when ordering it, should be a non issue.

Send it to me for proper disposal.

BTW unless it took on a rotten food/meat taste then it was not sealed correctly if at all and is bad.

I read once where liquids derived from tobacco can transmit a tobacco mosaic virus to some plants like tomatoes. I don't know if this applies to concentrated nic or not.

3x120mls won't go 'bad' in a few days if your freezer went out. In fact, at most it oxidizes to a dark brown and may even lose some strength - but again, not in a few days.

You don't say what strength it is? I'm assuming 100mg/ml or less?

Lol you nic is fine you can leave in a cabinet for a month and it is still good. People started putting it in the freezer if they wanted to store it for like a year or two.
