RY4 From FlavourArt

I hope someone can help me.

I have a Flavour from Flavour Art RY4 Tobacco. I really dont know how many percentage i should mix it with. Some people says 5 to 10% will be fine. But those guys use 50/50 VPG or more PG.

Since i am allergic to PG i will use it in a 100% VG.

So should i put 15% in or more or less ??

Whats your guys recommendation since i use VG.

FlavourArt is very concentrated, you really don't need much for their flavorings. The most I've ever used for any of them was 4%, but this particular flavor I could taste it fine @2%. Some are so strong I use them as low as 0.25%

WOW....only 3% in 100% VG ? The guy in the store told me 15% since i use VG only.

The PG/VG matters little compared to the actual strength of FlavorArt concentrates.

There are a few others I'm not familiar with... but compared to The Flavor Apprentice (The Perfumer's Apprentice is an in-house sister company), Capellas, Flavor West etc., FlavorArt's are about three times the strength. :D

As Huck spells out above, some (especially accent notes) are more than "there" well below 1% and it's a rare main flavor that needs more than a couple of percent in a recipe.

Standalones are pretty "in your face" at three or four percent and IMO... that definitely goes for their RY4 ( I use it a lot myself and ~3% or less is fine).

YMMV... but even near 10% FA would take my head off. Potent stuff. :p

I have to agree with the others here. I have rarely used anything FA more than 3.5%, and most way less (>25-.5%). I would say anything much more would be overkill.

I'd love a chart or even just a simple write-up of the comparative strengths of our various brands of flavorings.

Not subjective opinions of the flavors but just something simple like the heat index of chili peppers (Scoville?).

I don't require recipes, and I damn sure don't need a juice calculator... I can freehand to my preferences if I know in advance the strength of the brand. I just haven't bought enough different brands yet to make that substitution calculation (so many flavors... so little time :) ).

Even if it's (likely) only three or four major strength levels. Which brands are which?

Teresa could tell us. :p

I believe that FlavourArt uses pg base, might want to check that out if you're allergic to pg.

VG base flavorings are specialty items.
There're damn few flavors and you have to shop for them specifically.

Wanting/needing max-VG is another reason to use FA or the other higher strength flavors (???)... barring finding what you want in a VG base.

Ok thanks guys. I just made a 100ML RY4 in VG and used 5% Flavor. So it's 5ML Flavor and 95ML VG with 6mg Nicotine.

As I know I have to let it steep for 1 month.

I hope it will be fine.

and keep in mind if you do find it TOO strong .. just add some more vg to adjust

Why are you averse to VG as a carrier, Jimi D?
I don't use any heat when I mix, nor shake vigorously. Another thing I was thinking. Best to order direct, but I just want to try small samples first. How do we know if the ecig vendors are mixing them properly.

Thank you, sir! If you decide to give 'em a try regardless, ECX has ample-sized bottles for $2.99 (as NorthWest VG Flavors) but no damned Bread Pudding,
