The stuff you pour on cooked cow?

Not a fan. It overwhelms the flavor of anything you put it on. So you end up eating steak-flavored A1. Same idea with Sriracha and Tabasco... the flavors are too intense and specific.
Nailed it^
I do not care for sauces on meats. Spices and herbs sprinkled gingerly on meat is ok.

Some people, like my wife, prefer the meat drown in BBQ sauce. To me it's a waste of meat.

I don't eat Catsup on potatoes either.
Well, this sparked more discussion than anticipated. I'm sure there are others I'm not hitting (sorry 'bout that) but the correct answer is:

There's nothing wrong with steak sauce, but if you need it there's something wrong with the way you cooked your steak.

On eggs, that's all it's good for. And fuck the Chalula shit
Cholula is one of my staple mild salsas, along with Tabasco...though they both have their place and don't go with everything. It's great when you don't want a half-bottle of spiceless salsa like Crystal...
I understand where you are coming from, but you ARE in the land of fruits and nuts. Be VERY careful how you advertise your rental. Renters have more rights then you do, and some asshole could call the law in on you.

You can't control when they come and go, but you can put a clause about noise and being disruptive after certain hours.
Now I'm told. I have some Section 8 tenants I took in who refuse to stop flushing baby wipes and tampons into a septic system...consulted my lawyer today and I can't kick the fuckers out OR charge them for septic pumping. These dickwads have now removed my 40 units from the affordable housing market because I'm not making that mistake again...if the government is paying your rent and you wonder why no one will rent to you, shitbags like the ones I'm dealing with are why.

Okay, there's something wrong with your steak. Still, the point remains that if you need sauce it's because you're doing it wrong.

I think we agree.

I'm saying there's nothing wrong with a modest selection of meat... as a seasoning/sauce delivery system. Get creative, inventive... go nuts.

But a choice selection should stand on its own... and be enjoyed as such.

Choose.

As hard as it must be to get banned from VU... I guess there are some who just gotta prove that it CAN be done. :D

Andria
Shit, I'm still here, that should say enough! :D
A couple ladymods are trying to turn VU into their own private social club.

I have lost some respect for em cause rules should apply to everybody equally.
But the rules only apply to folks they don't like... evidently.

The ECF stank grows stronger and stronger....
Must one have respect to lose it?

Maybe.
I guess we'll have to take your word since you don't allow members to see what you accuse them of.
Is the Warnings tab hidden from members so you can convict without debate?

What's that smell dear? The stink of dishonesty... 'Threats" my ass.
Whiskey... ECF hero.

View attachment 54086

Anybody here can check their own page to see if that WARNINGS tab is visible.
It is hidden from you. You can be accused and convicted without even knowing it.

Right Tina? ...Exactly.
Wow, digging back to a year ago when you went on a personal attack tirade against a well-respected member to make a point? First, isn't using info that dated a little disingenuous? Second, do you realize that, given the rules that were in place when I resigned, those warning points would have been the equivalent of a lifetime ban? You're still here, though, as welcome as the rest of us to stir the pot, though it seems for reasons unknown...people with a long tenure here like yourself will remember that I was once part of the behind-the-scenes crew that kept this site functioning, and thus I can say with authority that a lot of irksome shit is allowed to fly here, even when the mostly-volunteer staff is taking heat needlessly. If anyone is facing discipline (and life doesn't get more pathetic than being publicly "disciplined" on a chat forum), it's pretty damned well-deserved.

I may have some ideological rifts with the staff that prevent me from volunteering here, but I stand 100% behind their approach to moderation - this is one of the most lenient forums on the web, and if you're really drawing parallels to ECF, where I'd be banned for having let loose half of what's been said in this post, perhaps it's time to seek out somewhere like 4chan to spend your time...

Shark, I've been one of your biggest fans and one of your biggest haters during your time here, even though I generally haven't said much about either opinion - I just hope you've dropped/will drop your shit.

Finally caught up on this thread - now to go make a few random posts elsewhere and disappear for a week....

That's right... run off like a little bitch.

-fuck... ex-mod... not such a giant tool that he's burned all his bridges... probably still has friends on the mod staff... fuck, shouldn't have said that... should not have said that... :(

OK. I would like to add this...
If you're doing it wrong, and you use A1, you're doing it wronger. Refer back to my statement about sauces that are too specific and overwhelming.

Technically, there is nothing wrong with A1 as a substance. You just have to use something else if you want to hide meat mistakes. Jus, perhaps?

Technically, there IS something wrong with retail BBQ sauce and retail ketchup. The homemade versions can be fantastic.

I used to use a1 on steaks, because my dad has a way of making all grilled meat into jerky

My favorite steak ever is cooked with herbed butter stuffed in the middle. Mmmmm
TAKING NOTES

one you screw up and have a hocky puck on a plate, the only hope for making it edible is sauce, sauce and more sauce
- or giving it to the dog and starting over

I'm trying to convince the men to let me cook the steaks this weekend, so at least they end up edible instead of rubber. So far I'm not winning, need to play the daddy's girl card

Or, how about: don't tell other people what tastes good to them, and maybe they won't tell you what tastes good to YOU. Because no matter how great the NY Strip or filet mignon.... I'm gonna put a little worcestershire sauce on it. Period. Sure, it's good by itself. But I like it better WITH, than without.

OMG, I have a friend who is a property manager for a big corp. that owns scads of Section 8 apartments. Septic pipe broke, some ended up in the foundation. Then mold took over. Made the whole building uninhabitable. I don't DO poop. But he writes the P.O.'s, and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. So I sent a crew over with a vac truck, sprayers filled with bleach, hazmat suits, full face respirators and a fresh air truck, the works.

It was the MIDDLE of winter. I noticed that almost ALL of the units on the upper floors had their windows WIDE open. I asked him, WTF? He said that the building uses boilers, and don't really regulate the heat per unit well, so it all rises. And the residents don't care, or the property owners, because the Gubbermint pays the heat bill. Ya GOTTA be kidding me...

FUCK that. No way I'd EVER be in the section 8 game.

Even here, in Podunk nowhere, section 8 is all crap housing because of the majority that live in it. Scumbags, druggies, and welfare sweat hogs. I realize that is a pretty derogatory way of putting it, but it is factual. Even slumlords, won't play those games.

I wouldn't feel bad at all, about refusing section 8's.

Oh hell yeah, the things those poor guys saw in that foundation, and the threat to them. Apparently, the rush of waste freed up stuff that had been stuck in those pipes. Needles galore. They were ALL issued Metatarsal boots and told to NOT vac up anything that might have blood borne pathogens. HELL with that. That would be another quote altogether.
