Are you using the precoiled Youde wire? If so, I had to stop using mine, because it does very very hot.

As Juicy Lucy said, they're totally different draws, although I do DL on both, and I like that I can run the Merlin at 40 watts or 60 watts and get a different vape!
it is 28/32 SS Clapton wire from advance vape supply I have had no issues in the Boreas just the Merlin like I posted earlier I can vape this to around 100W in the Boreas

I have both and they are completely, very, very different attys

The Merlin is more MTL, the Boreas DL, though you can coil either to do the opposite.
Probably why I cant vape past 30W taking a big dL vape probably is making it heat up not enough air flow to keep the coil cool
I may drill out the air port

That's perfectly normal. Single coil RTAs generally don't need anywhere near as much power as dual coil tanks to get good flavor. I'm running a .50Ω SS fused Clapton from AVS in my Merlin. It runs well in power mode at around 23w, but it's perfect for me in SS TC set to 35 watts and 360-400º. As long as you're getting good flavor from your build it doesn't matter if your mod is set to 20 or 80 watts.

If you want to push the watts, try lifting the coil higher off the airflow channel. You may get a little more air and get to throw a few more watts at it. Just keep in mind that this is a flavor tank, not a cloud tank. Just adjust the watts until it gives you the flavor and warmth you enjoy. It shouldn't need a lot.

The AVS SS Clapton wire will work beautifully in temp control if you make a spaced coil.

My problem is not the flavor it is the heat if I go below 20watts I get no vapor 30w it is way to hot same in temp mode I either get little cape or mouth burning

My first Merlin arrived, and it is beautifull.....first build gave me a few dry hits as I put to much cotton in front of the juice hole....once I fixed that no issues what so ever,. Must be one of the easiest RTA's to wick once you realise that....not a drop of leakage...very easy to build.
And for those that think you need big ass coil in it.....you sure don't, I tried it with a tiny 2mm 1.5 ohm coil, and it works perfectly, no leakage.

I tried it on the Xvostick and Ystick, but alas that indeed is a no go, it has found it place on the Dicodes Dani Box for now. Will try it on the Smoant knight once it gets in.
Even though it won't work with my favorite mods I did also order me a black one, as it is really that good and easy.

Another thing I noticed: the color scheme/indentations on the top/bottom part match the Nautilus X perfectly :)

That's odd the merlin did not fit in your xvo. Fits fine in my xvo clones

I knew if I worked hard enough I would find something bad about the Merlin
I seem to wind up finding any faults with any tank I own
it has to do with the black Merlin

with the black glass installed you cant see the juice control holes in the dark to adjust the juice control :giggle:

Other than that the two I own one stainless and one black seem to be perfect once wicked right
Ive begun carrying one or the other as my work and travel tanks

.2 ohm notch on a Dos, about 80 watts, 90VG Diy, chain vaping wicking keeps up, flavor is fantastic, this juice never tasted so good, airflow wide open restrictor boxed. Have quite a number of other single coil atties, this thing has made 99% of them obsolete. another SS, and a black one on the way.

Cotton is fairly tight in the notch otherwise it under-saturates, tails thinned about 1/3, puffed & fluffed, fanned on the deck, anything going down the holes is consequential. No leaks/flooding, perfect vape

Suppose I'll toss this on a regulated box to see where it goes, but it really is nice on the Dos.

Maybe you need to get one of those 510 threaded flashlight heads so you can see

Understand now what you were saying and agree it will be an issue when using the xvo. It's useable when using the knight but I would not recomend the black version. The smoked glass makes it very hard to see where the juice control is positioned. Hopefully the clear glass will be sold somewhere so I can replace my smoked glass version

It "fit" in my prostick, but was basically unusable because with the lip around the 510 it was difficult to ensure it was screwed in all the way, the AFC was almost impossible to adjust, and the way it sat (adjustable, I know) the juice flow was hidden.

Let's see, let see!
Let us know how you like the Smoant Knight too!

here it is, got my tiny 2mm 1.5ohm micro coil in my Merlin, tootling away :):

4udr2t.jpg

Just have it for about an hour, but I really like it, a bit heavy but I don't mind that (264g with battery, about the same as the Dicodes No6 with a 26650). Very comfortable to hold, easy to operate and nice and compact, and cheap to boot. Feels very solid.
And like @mgmrick says: pairs up very nicely with the Merlin, think I am gonna order me a second one for when my black Merlin arrives.

I'm seeing a pattern here of you failing to take responsibility for your addiction and blaming others

So, you still need more mods I understand?!?
Well, not so much that I need them, but yeah, I need them, and I need to be able to look my wife in the eye and tell her that someone else made me buy 'em.
Not really, she's actually pretty cool with me using a portion of my former smoke budget to buy vape gear. Though she is starting to question why I need any more.

My black merlin ships tomorrow from ft along with a bachelor nano and i am curious to see how they will hold up against gem v2, especially merlin since i hear so many good things about it.

IME - My Merlin build outcompetes my Gem. Which bummed me out a lot, lol.

Still ADORE my Gem - I have no complaints and am confident it will last me many, many years. But the Merlin's flavor is a little better and has way more airflow options. I was shocked that I liked the Merlin better

The gem is certainly a non forgiving but highly rewarding atomizer its still my top flavour chasing tank among the twenty or so i had or have. My only con is its low throat hit while i usually do 3 - 4 nic on the gem i go 7 - 8 to get the same throat hit.

They do it via alibaba but the only issue is that the minimum order is 5 units, but they work out before shipping at $13.
And if the mods don't mind I could post a link for you :)

You'd also have to add the cost of sending $ via Western Union, as I see that is the only payment option

You can pay by PayPal which was what I did, I asked Ally who dealt with my purchase if I could you this option and she said yes no problem at all. :)
And mine is being delivered by DHL :)

Post that shit if they're verified authentic. For the Boreas and other Augvape tanks too if you are aware of such deals. I was planning on buying 3 or 4 more Boreas and a couple of Merlin from STS, but at the price per unit I'll spend the same amount for dozens of tanks. :)

This is what I received back when I asked if these are authentic

Yes. This is Augvape, you are ordering the Merlin directly from the manufacture. We only make authentic product, not the clones. If you have other questions, please feel free to contact me.

And for correspondence I can only say it was excellent, very quick with any query's that I had.
Hopefully they will stay in business and then I will certainly be ordering more gear from them. :)
Mine are scheduled to be with me in the UK by next week, and since I only ordered this week I say that's fantastic service. :)

Just got the Merlin and it is a sexy tank, the best looking for me of all the Augvape tanks. Vapes real nice but when you screw it on a mod while holding from the top is that how the juice control is supposed to be adjusted? Mine just continually spins on the top if I keep on turning as it turns the juice flow control, have to unscrew the tank from the bottom to take it off.

Doesn't really bother me but I can see how it might be a pain to take off on something like the Tesla Stealth Mod.

Now I got all 3 Augvape RTA's and thinking about getting a 2nd Boreas in black, that tank kicks ass.

The top isn't supposed to just spin. The noctch ring on the bottom above the air control ring is supposed to be the juice channel control

I love the Boreas too - am up to five for my doomsday stash, lol. It's very different tank from Merlin - but I do love both of them.

I'm not usually a fangurl type, but I grown to LOVE Augvape RTAs

How much was it with the shipping? So $13 times 5 = $65 plus shipping = ? Thanks!

The bottom ring is so tight it barely moves and I have to hold on to the top of the tank or else it moves as well. Pretty much when I turn the top of the tank the juice control turns with it as it is super tight.

I think I read about one of the assemblers using the wrong oring, I guess that's my problem then? It still works fine and I am not having any problems besides that. Would it be a good idea to get a replacement from eciggity or is there a fix for this?
