Help! So frustrated!

i just got my second Pico in the mail today and I'm trying to set it up, but I can't get the top off of the tank! I've tried hot water, pliers, those things used to open jars... Nothing works! For those of you that don't know it's a stupid top fill. I'm screwed! Any suggestions will help me from breaking something!

I've seen some suggest to put it in the freezer for a bit to see if it will compress the metals some. I hate stuck top caps!! The jar thing you tried usually does the trick. Sometimes cussing at it, violently helps you feel better for about 14 seconds.

See if you can take it apart from the bottom up, if you can remove the rta cover, then get something up there to lock thru the fill holes and loosen the top off that way.

One of the things I used to have to do with the solid glass tank on my nautilus was tap it with a little force on my desk, the metal parts not the glass of course... usually while giving it the third degree. Along with making me feel better, the tapping seemed to help work loose the threads, just enough to help out. Never hard enough to break the glass on it, just enough to nudge the threads a little. Also plastic wrap, used like the jar openers, helped out sometimes.
