This reminds me of when they tried to ban AR15 rifles and there were panic buys and all the ammo got bought up...
Goes in cycles, remember recently when .22LR rimfire ammo was in super short supply? A bunch of monied fucks bought up production runs and started a panic to drive the cost up.

VG and PG will be legal. Food Industry and soap/cosmetics companies use them.

and food flavorings ( what we have been inhaling all along) will still be sold for flavoring food and candy

It's VG/PG not PG/VG

I think you got it all wrong.
Trying to convince the FDA that vaping is healthier then smoking? Really?
You think that they don't know that already, just like they know and known for many years that smoking kills, but did nothing to ban it.
It's not about health, it's all about corruption and greed.
You should have found a way to convince your politicians that vaping would be more profitable for them.
Oh wait, big tobacco and big pharma already did just that.

Once we're all done venting in the aftershock of the published regs, I hope we can rally to support the legal challenges that are going to be our best bet. We no longer have proposed regulations to wring our hands over - what is published can and will be challenged in court. This can be overturned!

I just worry that I can't get vg or pg. You can probably get pg but without vg it is a no go.
No worries about PG/VG at all, they are used to make soap along with numerous other things and can not be prohibited. Nicotine is the common denominator here. Everything else can be sourced legally including components for mods, attys, flavors, etc...

Lol. I told my buddy who is big into vaping about the FDA regs being dropped finally, and the first thing he said was "Well I guess Im gonna be buying a lot of flavored anal lube". I was like...wtf? Then he explained, if you take the nicotine out of the eliquid, you can sell it as flavored lube (barring any push back about that) and the end user can add nicotine themselves. Im skeptical.

how hard can it be to start a nic extraction lab. hell there are two labs I know of that extract WTAs from tobacco, and I get the idea that it is much harder to do than extrcting the nic.
I suspect it's more difficult to make "pure" nicotine than WTA. WTA is basically "impure" nicotine -- the mixture of alkaloids (about 95% of which is nicotine) that are what's found in tobacco. The big nicotine extractors then refine this further to eliminate the minor alkaloids.

Yea it depends on what your end goal is for the extraction. Anyone can throw some cured tobacco leafs into a bucket of alcohol or other solvent and call the result a nicotine liquid. But if you want pure, clean, USP grade nicotine liquid, then you need a lab, lab equipment and at least a basic knowledge of organic chemistry.

Off topic, but I dig the avatar. Made me think I was at the gear page for a second.

Start hoarding while its legal..
I started hoarding nic base two weeks of quitting smoking back in December of 2013. I never thought I *could* quit, but since vaping got me off cigs without even *intending* to quit, I quickly decided there was no way I'd ever let the goobermint take this miracle away from me. However, I didn't get serious about hoarding until April of 2014 when the proposed dooming regs were first published.

The FDA can kiss my ass.

But yeah, if you're reading this and you haven't started hoarding yet, now would be a good time. :)

I have an idea. It might seem wacky but bear with me.

I currently make eliquids for vaping in our store. But that will soon be illegal. So I've decided to change focus - I will start making liquids that people can use to make their own nicotine gum (aka 'gum juice'). One of my 'gum juices' will be called 'Pink Cloud Gum Juice' and will be 80% vegetable glycerin (a mild sweetness that does not contribute to tooth decay), propylene glycol (helps the gum retain moistness), flavorings and various levels of nicotine (depending on how strong you want to make your gum).

(Note - any similarities between my new 'Pink Cloud' gum juice and my best-selling 'Pink Cloud' eliquid is purely coincidental.;))

They have not played fair. They will not play fair. They have no interest in playing fair. Legal challenge? They make the laws. As they see convenient.

They need to be shamed. All of them. Exposed. Embarrased.

Spent an hour today searching and cross referencing the Panama Papers database to see if any of the players have offshore holdings.

It would be nice to compile a list of all the involved parties. FDA, Tobacco, Pharma, the "Save the Children" shills and their associated lobbyists, and the political rat reciepients of their bribery.

There has to be a good amount of dirt to find. Domestic Abuse, fraud etc. Neighbours should be interviewed. Ex spouses, former business associates they have fucked over...

Stuff that journalists can't resist. We are dealing with evil people that know full well what they are doing is self serving and evil, not innocent misinformed, well intentioned, public welfare oriented "Do Gooders". There will be dirt.

I do not think it likely this will be resolved in the courts. They own those too. Lets try shining some light on these roaches.

Don't be so sure. Fed. Judge Leon ruled against the FDA back in 2010, when we fought to have these ruled as a tobacco product , so they couldn't be immediately banned at that time.

Well they have a lot of free spots in prisons now, previously taken by weed "criminals" and they need to fill them with someone :D

Does anyone know for sure what FDA means by "commercially marketed"? Does it require for the product to be actually purchased by someone? Or is it enough if it has been produced, advertised and available for purchase?
