any idea what licenses you will need to open a vape shop?

Im looking into this myself, and so far i seem to belive now that the FDA considers e juice a tobacco product it falls under the same laws and regulations, this seems to be because nicotice comes from tobacco( and other sources) but the goverment sees it as nicotine and toabacoo = the same thing. you also need a federal tax id number which you can obtain almost instantly with a form online FOR FREE. youll see sites charging almost $200 for instant tax id's but their all free state on other hand im not sure about and thats the point where im at myself. i hope this helps at all

A business license for sales tax.
A tobacco retailers license, if your state requires it.
Insurance.
Employer tax ID number, if you have employees.
Possibly even registering the lab, depending on your state.

You will need the fed employer tax number even if you hire NO employees.. Because you as the owner/operator count as an employee for tax purposes.

You need to check you LOCAL laws; City, County, state and federal they will all likely want some money.

Wrong.

I own a business, and am a sole employee/owner. I do NOT need a EIN number. My "federal tax number" is my S.S. number.

I think in the near future you may need one of these to give to your friendly nieghborhood FDA official...

That is correct. My brother and I own the business 50/50 we applied for and received our LLC. We are free to business online in the US. We also have our EIN. Personal Taxes are easy since it is counted as earned income. However, we only sell mods! No juices, atomizers, just mods and some handmade furniture. That could be why it is relatively simple for us.
