It has been some time since I have mixed anything, I am working on planning how I will set my mixing station up and then I will proceed. In the meantime, I have been brainstorming some ideas and with this I am pretty confident. Keep in mind, I have not done any mixing for awhile so this could use a little tweaking but I am pretty sure you will find this good AS IS. Please enjoy and post any feedback, comments and whatever.

This looks great! Any possible sub's for the butter cream? Only thing I'm missing.

Sent from my KFFOWI using Tapatalk
My first thought would be to drop it out completely and/or then maybe use FA Fresh Cream
Maybe someone else would have a better recommendation.

Looks really good. How is VBIC this high? I've only gone over 1% with it once and found it overpowering at 2%.

I can't offer any advise on the mixing part. I am missing only Butter cream also but it is on my wish list for next order.
I know how that is about planning out your mixing station. I had everything set up in my back spare bedroom and BANG ---in one single day my husband decides he is going to take up the hobby as a beekeeper and take me along with it. I'm not complaining about being a beekeeper but what I didn't like was him filling the room up with all the equipment to do it. Now I have to hunt for everything again because my stuff is scattered all over. :gaah::gaah::gaah::cuss2::cuss2::cuss2::tantrum::tantrum::tantrum::tantrum::tantrum::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::sneaka:Yeah....not too happy about that. Might have to go in there tonight and straighten things out. lol:devil:

4-5% is pretty typical for VBIC, and that's what I've been using it at.
You may just need to steep it longer.
Or your more sensitive to that one.
Hmm... Most recipes I've come across using it have stayed well within 1-2%. I'll have to try this recipe now to see how it comes out! :)

Sounds to me that he's just trying to generate enough honey to make 30 days of a special mead for for you both to enjoy... (Think...a honeymoon !!) :vino:

I can be wrong though.

Your husband is beekeeping. Bees make honey. Mead is made with honey (the best use of honey. IMO)

Honeymoon??

"The word "honeymoon" first appeared in English in the 1500s. The first citation of the word appeared in a 1552 glossary printed in England, called Abcedarium Anglico Latinum.

"Honeymoon" is derived from the ancient Germanic custom of having newly-weds drink mead (the 'drink of love') for a whole moon (month) in order to encourage fertility, and a male child in particular. "
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=honeymoon&defid=3471061

Geez!...Why else would your husband suddenly start beekeeping? :D

Afraid I've got to side with you as you were there first.
Besides that, is he gonna raise them in the spare bedroom? J/K
Beekeeping is an outdoor hobby,(I hope), and mixing is an indoor hobby, simple as that, lol.
Better off in a shed or garage being closer to where the hives are located.
I would suspect that the honey is harvested only once, or twice per year, but mixing is kind-of a daily, or weekly thing, for me anyway.
But then I don't know squat about Beekeeping either.

What Heabob said. 10-15 day steep for best results. Add some CAPs Sweet cream @2% and .5-1% FA vanilla Classic and KAPOWIE!

Ummm......No!

I agree! Heck way back then most folks still believed the world was flat. Certainly such things have no bearing with you.

I'm too old to have children, and even if I wasn't, the doctor has made it possible for me to not worry about that :) "NO Bearing" YEP YEP

Made some of this this morning. Tastes really good after a few hours - really looking forward to how it tastes after a couple of weeks!

Thanks for letting me know how it came out. Please keep me posted as it develops!

I finally managed to get a mixing station set up.
I had a chance to make 120mL of my delicious French Toast, yummalicious!!

Steeping time, I would imagine at least a couple of days at a minimum.

Would be great if you could share this recipe in grams if possible :)
I've never mixed in grams so I have limited knowledge here. However, it is something I'm considering doing so I have to ask - is there not a method whereby you could work this out yourself?

So my 15ml I mixed last week listed all of one night! So I mixed up a large 150ml batch, heated in crock pot for a few hours and gave it a few minutes with the frother. I upped the SB ripe to 4% cause I love SB!

After nearly a week, this is a delicious strawberry ice cream! Really nice! It has replaced the unicorn milk clone I had in my rotation. Really simple, no distractions. Just a nice, clean tasting strawberry ice cream!

Thanks again for sharing!

I used 1.5% cotton candy. Haven't tried it without but I believe it gives it a candy-type flavour that I think is important in an ice cream vape :)
Thank you very much for this feedback! To replace your Unicorn Milk Clone with this makes me happy, thank you!

Thanks for sharing it! It's really good!

It has changed a lot over the last week... Still great! But a lot stronger! I may reduce the sweet SB next time by just 1%.

Again, really a great recipe this!
