I know this thread has been done before...but since I don't see it on the front page of this sub forum, AND every month new stuff comes out...I figure an updated thread won't hurt.

Two questions:

1) What is the best sub ohm tank for Flavor?

2) What is the best sub ohm RTA for flavor?

Right now, I have 3 sub ohm tanks: Aspire Atlantis, Arctic Horizon, and UWell Crown. All three are decent performers, with their own pros and cons. All three are decent.

I haven't tried any sub ohm RTAs yet. I was a big fan of Kayfuns when they first came out...I have 3 but retired them about 6 months ago (or more).

Im not a cloud chaser, but I'm a HUGE flavor whore. I'm just not satisfied right now.

Bonus question:

How is the Kanger subtank?

I don't know anything about the subtank, never owned one.

For subtanks, I have amassed quite the collection so here are some of my thoughts for best flavor etc:
1. Council of Vapor Vengeance - amazing flavor!! Downside small juice capacity and bottom fill.
2. Council of Vapor Defiant - new tank from them, will have mine by the end of the week am expecting good things - same coil heads as vengeance with the addition of their own ceramic coil. Larger juice capacity and much needed top fill, should be a homerun!
3. Crown's - love them, coils are a bit of a mixed bag.
4. Goliath V2 - Don't build so using prebuilt rocc heads, amazing flavor, bottom fill
4. Aromamizer - Same thing, using prebuilt coils, great flavor
5. Herakles Plus - excellent flavor, great tank overall
6. Arctic V8 & V8 mini - love the flavor, never leaked a drop, coils last forever
7. Mutank - great flavor with the clapton coils
8. Target - so far good flavor from the .9 ccell coil
9. Steam Engine - great with clapton's

Overall I give the best in show awards to the COV tanks, all others have a place in my daily rotations and are very much enjoyable giving great flavor.

Love to hear other's thoughts as well, am always on the lookout for other tanks to try! :)

damn I gotta start building...I keep hearing soooo much about the Griffin!! Would it be a good idea to pick up that coil master all in one kit?

Yeah, Geekvape Griffin is the easiest RTA to build nowadays. Various kind of wires can be used on it.
Ahh yes, the awesome Griffin!

Had these two for a month now and they are the best RTA's I've built and vaped to date..can't wait for the 25mm version to come out! Thanks Geekvape!

I got the exact same set up. Love the griffin. Easily the best RTA.

Best flavor in a subohm tank for me was in the Kanger Subtank Mini but using the RBA (Version 1)
Best flavor in an RTA was in the Goblinv2 (not the mini) using the small tank but I retired it because of the bottom filling.
Now Im waiting for the Tilemahos v2 plus which is said to have amazing flavor and the Billow Nano v2 which should be even better than the regular Billow.
Kayfun v4 is still top notch flavor but has dryhit issues with low builds and thick juice, Im looking forward to the new Kayfun Mini (clone), if the clones are any good I might go for the authentic. The Rose v2 clone I had was incredible too but very tight draw and hard to build.

1. Kayfun v4 / Rose v2
2. Subtank Mini RBA / Goblin v2
3. Billow v2

In general you could say that the smaller the chamber, the better the flavor + more airflow = less flavor
But in the end it obviously depends alot on your build. Im not using claptons and crazy stuff much, so my opinions are based on more "normal" builds.

I still like my Haze for flavor, just has a pure flavor that I haven't had beaten. That said, the Avocado from Geek Vape is excellent providing a denser vape so a richer flavor. Those are both Genesis style RTAs, a bit different. For a normal RTA I got the Griffin and the difference between that and those two for flavor is negligible and just such a convenient tank to use. So for me, purity of flavor: Haze, Avocado, Griffin. Richness of flavor: Griffin, Avocado, Haze. Griffin above in the richness because it can handle builds the Avocado's style just can't keep up with that just come out so thick and delicious.

If I had to have just one, like many others, Griffin no questions, but I'm glad I got the other two.

There's some really great suggestions in the posts above. I'll throw my $.02 in just to add to the mix.

I have an addictive behavior so when I jump in to something, I pretty much grab any and everything I can. I have currently far too many tanks and devices but to pick 3 tanks, I would go w/ (in order of best to third best ), the Herakles Plus (V2 if you want a mini and less airflow), Rafale (I haven't touched my Crown in awhile), and the Arctic V8 (again mini if you want a lower profile).

For the RTAs it's a dead on tie w/ Griffin and Gemini. Gemini really wins it, but I'm attached to my Griffin LoLz. Same price @ around $30 I believe. The thing about the Gemini is its unique bottom to side airflow and also the Herakles Plus top airflow. I personally am also a flavor chaser, so having that extra flow is nice to have if I should ever need it.

Hope this helps

I agree with your list there, only thing I feel compelled to add is that the herk v2 is far worse production finish wise than the herk +. I was stoked to get the v2 but found its top threads very rough making it difficult to screw the top cap back on; adding to that, the top cap itself is not machined uniformly having a fair amount of variance in its thickness from one side to the other. Don't waste money on the v2, opt for the + as it holds more liquid, has great taste, and better machining. Just my opinions of course, and I could have gotten a "dud," however none of my three herk +'s have any issues of this type.

The V8 mini however is perfect just like its big brother, both which I consider excellent.

I love my Griffins but also have the Billow V2 Nano and it is good too but the build deck is not as easy as the Griffin and space is limited. Both are great for flavor.

I'd put the Griffin & the Crius as 1 & 2. I preordered a Hastur from Cthulu, so we'll see how that one sizes up. As far as RDAs, for flavor, the Tugboat v3 is tops in my book, followed by the Aeolus Lite. After that it's pretty much a clusterf*ck of drippers. I'm waiting on a Sapor currently

It's coming soon if you have a Griffin and feel the need for some top airflow.

I have the Crown and the TFV4 and they are great tanks. I also have an ArticV8 which I find ok but the tank that I am really liking at the moment is the Tobeco Super Tank. I got one and liked it so much I picked up 2 more and a KS one that holds 7ml. I vape them at 55 watts and they deliver great flavor IMHO.

Personally I like my Smok TFV4 using the triple coil head. The rebuildable works good, but if you don't get tje cotton just right it leaks.

What's the general thinking about the OBS Crius V3? I've been looking at that one for a while now. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Hank already said it, but yeah, the Crius V3 was great for it's time giving the velocity deck but really no reason to grab it now with the Griffin/Gemini available for such affordable prices ($25-30), honestly the only concern is finding them in stock somewhere, but last I saw eBay had a decent supply of griffins at $30 w/ free shipping.

This is just my opinion but i like the Ohmega BFT, its a 30mm rebuildable tank but the flavor is just like an RDA. very easy to build velocity style deck too.
its a lot cheaper than the well known leaky VCMT lol. only con i have with the BFT is there is no adjustable airflow, but the airflow is very open already. def worth checking out!

The geek vape griffin is awesome for a rta but for tanks I haven't seen anyone mention the triton 2. Personally it's my fave tank with the .2ohm playboy coils, flavor is right up there with every dripper I have

mutank is still my top choice, at least a reasonably priced one. I love building on it, even not beig a velocity(which is available), it has the raised center pin and allows all the massive juice channels to connect. i don't have a "ton" of tanks, but im actively rotating six RBA tanks between wife and I and mutank is king.

what's that? maybe you don't like to build coils? although i find that notion strange it's okay, because the mutank has some killer factory coils. the youde zyphyrus V2 is a generally respactable flavor tank, and it's deserved, but let's compare the youde dual coil to the indulgence.......

If youre looking for an RTA for flavor, nothing Ive used, be it subtank, RTA, RDA, anything, has come close to the flavor I get from the Alleria RTA. It just produces vapor dripping with flavor. Its almost too much flavor. But definitely worth checking out for a flavor tank.

I get that and my mouth is watering:zombie:well, actually y'all made me drool! But the problem I'm having is those darn airflow channels you can drive a truck thru! Can you really choke it down for MTL?

I just tried it, turning the airflow all the way down, and with the airflow almost all the way closed and just the tiniest little sliver of a hole still open Im getting what I assume is a decent mouth to lung style airflow. The coils in it are far too low to actually fire it and try hitting it like that, but just hitting it without firing it seems restrictive enough to mouth to lung it.

Thank you @Mythical_OD , I thought so! with the airflow closed like that you could MTL but that would be one helluv'a hot vape. Maybe in TC mode it could work! I just found the Alleria on e-bay for$27, now I'm waiting for the seller to let me know if it is the v2 with the rounded knurling. He said it in the description, but he posted the v1 pics with the squared knurls.

Word. I have both versions, and the original still functions perfectly, its just the sharp edges everywhere that kind of turned me off a bit. Either one vapes really good, its just the edges that are any kind of issue.

Thank you @Duke, I saw that. It was on the Boreas, she was wondering if the air flow position in the Alleria and the fact that you have to split the wick tails might not collaborate and result in leaking. In any case, I will find that out the hard way, I just ordered the Alleria.

Its hard to beat the Goblin mini flavor-wise....the downfall is the juice capacity.

@inspects, I tend to agree with you, but as my dad used to say, when 5 people tell you you're drunk, you better go to bed. All these people say the Alleria is da' bomb...so I'll find out in about 3 days and get back to y'all.

SMOK TFV4 is awesome. I have three. Flavor and vapor production are the best I have experienced for a sub tank with prebuilt coils. I have not tried the rebuildable .

I have looked into the TFV4 and almost bought one. It was between that and the Uwell Crown. I went with the crown because at the time I was buying juice at my local B&M. Although I was always curious about the octuple coil. That just sounds insane LOL

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

It does sound insane. The tri coil is all I have tried so far and it's awesome. After these go I'm going to try the TF-T4 quad Clapton coil. I haven't tried the crown but man I love my TFV4.
