I am not much of a wood man (haha), but that might change now. I love box mods. But just haven't liked any that were wood. But yours is badass. I have seen a few production wood boxes but your prototype box puts them all to shame! Nice job.. Keep it up and people will be lining up to buy them.
I agree, this could be the next badass wood mod everyone wants their paws on.

Thanks for the interest.
I have a couple local beta testers actually that have been working with me to get to where I am now (version 12).
However I am in need of well known YouTube vape gear reviewers that would like a free sample for purposes of review.
I should have a few together by the end of August for that purpose with remainder of first run to follow shortly after.
Some more information and a question or two for ya.
I plan on having a picture of each one on the webstore so that people can choose the actual wood grain pattern/ serial number they like, and can see the actual item they would be receiving.
I noticed that the variance even within a certain wood type is huge, and feel this is the best way.

I also plan on doing 'one only' versions for certain serials ( example: serial 0021 will have a wood stain jack and ace of spades below the clear finish (still would see the wood grain through stain much like the colored examples I posted earlier)).
I will only do one of any particular design ever and it will specific to that serial number alone.
I was walking with my daughter and that was her idea (have to give credit where it's due).
These would take longer to produce so would sell for a higher price but would be handcrafted finishes and truly 'one of a kind' items.

Do you like that idea?

LMAO!
Anything is possible for enough time, and enough money my friend ;)

I think "one of a Kinds" are a good idea, and alot of people like having things personalized. You could change the serial slightly to reflect that its is "one of a Kind" by adding an "S" after the Serial or something to show it is more unique.

Very Nice. Wondering if you did the logo your self, or had them sent that way? I have been wondering how to change mine.

Logo was done by YiHi from an image I sent them
You will need to purchase 120 or more chips to have a custom logo software created
Currently I am spending today flashing all the chips to the new software and upgrading battery and atomizer wiring to 16ga to handle the 60watts per yihi's recommendation.

Pay attention then.
Coupon code : vapingunderground
All lower case and all one word.
Good for the first 100 people that use it at my web store for 10% off
( web store not open yet but coupon code in place).
:)
Couple other things too.
Designing my boxes to fit in a usps flat rate box that can ship to any CONUS location for less than $6
Also talked to my cnc mill guy yesterday and his price came in $10 less per piece than I had planned on.
That comes directly off the final price to the consumer, and not into my pocket.
My goal is to produce a high quality item for less than other similar items currently on the market.
Anywhere I can save the consumer on things like shipping or cut my production costs without compromising quality I am all over it.

Site is currently under construction
It will be live when I have product to display (aiming for the end of August).
Currently figuring out time and material cost per item (doing the first run).
I won't have a solid price until I know for certain actual production cost.
Patience please.
Know that I am working as fast as I can

Like how much cheaper than the others are you thinking like 100-200 or more like 300 cause a well built wood box mod that's cheap enough you wont have to add the purchase to your yearly budget.. Would take off like wild fire

Again, I don't have a solid number yet so will not quote one until I do.
I would love to offer these in the $100-$200 price range but with a chip at its core that retails for ~$70 I simply cannot produce them for that price range.
I am doing my best to keep final cost down, and believe I can meet or beat the prices of similar items on the market as well as provide more options in the device than a DNA 30 or simple VV based device.
It is a high end item intended for experienced vapers who want ease of use, ergonomic design, beautiful looks, and all the options the sx350 can provide with the latest YiHi 5-60 watt/ .15 -3 ohm update.

What it looks like on a few test pieces>>>
IMG_3607.JPG
I have 20 of the 120 chips upgraded to 16ga wire for the 510, and battery connections per YiHi's suggestion to run safely with the 60 watt upgrade.
That file will fire down to .15 ohm which in bypass mode on a fully charged battery is ~117 watts @ 28 amps.
VTC4 or VTC5 only with this mod.
I have been playing around with a version 11 prototype (current production is version 13), and found the SX350 simply works better with low ohm coils.
It has a built in safety feature that will cycle the wattage from 50+ to 10 when the battery doesn't have enough juice to power a higher ohm coil at the set wattage (50-60 watts is where I notice this).
I currently have a .2 ohm dual coil set up in a RDA on the prototype, and was able to vape at 50 watts down to 3.58volts on the battery before it started to cycle (about 3 hours of vape time).
If I connect it to an external power supply (I have a 6600mAh portable phone charger battery pack I carry in my pocket connected via USB to the mod) I can vape it all day at 50+ watts without a battery change, and keep the benefits of a smaller device in my hand.
Not bad.
I highly recommend if you want to vape consistently at 50+ watts you wrap a .15- .2 ohm coil(s) for this chip, and software for better battery life, and characteristics.
Aiming for mid September release of the first batch.

Outside corners rough rounded (mill) for a part of the first batch.
Mainly posted this to give an idea of the variation in wood grains, and the reason each item will be a Seperate listing on the site to give people the option to choose what they like.

thought about making one that houses dual 18650's or a single 26650? seems to be the way most mod makers are going..

I like the small form factor of a single 18650. I made a dual 18650 SX350 that i only use at home because it is rather bulky for out and about. But it never hurts to have options. Looking forward to the release Nicoroshi.

Exactly like Oggy said above.
I prototyped a dual 18650 design but didn't like the 'brick' feel to it.
Was doing my best to keep it about the size of a pack of analogs (something most ex-smokers are familiar with), and this design is just a tad thicker but almost exact in height, and width.
I was a bit concerned about battery life but after just vaping the snot out of one of the version 11 prototypes at 50+ watts (torture test really chain vaping it every time I pick it up. I went through ~50 ml of juice in about 4 days) I found the battery life to actually hold up quite well.
I do need a battery change about halfway through the day or more recently I connect it to a 6600 mAh power pack between vaping sessions to keep the battery fully charged.
With the 1 amp charger it charges up quite fast, and with the sliding back panel battery changes are a less than a minute tool less operation.
In the end I am willing to carry an extra battery or power pack to retain the small form factor of the PV.

On another note I have been kicking around the design ideas for a 26650 VW bottom feeder :)

One thing at a time though

Boy, I sure do like the sound of that. I have been wanting to grab a bf mod for a little while but haven't found any yet that I like enough to purchase. 26650 and VW could do the trick, especially if made of wood too. Would love to see what design you come up with.

Design still in the tuning stages for that one havok333 but progressing. :)

Look what just showed up in my shop (and yes, I will make mods out of it. Probably on the second run)>>>

Wasn't cheap but just too wicked to pass up when I saw it.

Cool man - and I do like the small form factor of them - Just curious if you had plans for the future - i think the single 26650 would be huge in demand if you came out with one well before all the big chinese manufactures.. good luck in your builds.. I will be looking forward to the finished product and the price tag

What breed of dog?
Curiously enough I am looking for the next 'best friend' to hang with me in the shop.
Must not be scared of power tools and like a bed of wood chips.
Absolutely beautiful. Add (for me) a rechargeable li-po pack and I have 2 grandchildren and a dog I'll gladly trade you :)

NICE JOB!

Not much room for a bottle in that box for a BF is there?
