Hi there - could you just elaborate please. When you say the indented circles were facing down, do you mean down towards the drip tip or down towards the pyrex? Cheers
smooth edge of the rubber seal should be facing towards the glass.

In my city when it is flooding, they use sandbags.
Not sure if it would help in this case but it sure does the job lol

Im back! And have some interesting news to share. So I was in one of my local vape stores recently to stock up on some of my fav juice for a weeklong trip our of town. I mentioned to them the flooding issue im having (same as all the others in this thread), and they started asking me a barage of stupid ?'s until i told them everything i had tried and the one guy told the other guy i think she knows what shes doing. Shes a veteran. Well then they asked me how often i fill my Nautilus tank. And i said usually twice a day, maybe more if im not at work. And they told me i was just vaping way more than the typical vaper. They said a 30ml bottle lasts most people 3-4wks, it lasts me 4-5days !! They said im just vaping so much that im burning up the coils that fast. Im like ARE U SERIOUS? You have GOT to be joking? You WORK in a damn vape store and ur telling ME THAT I vape alot in comparison??? Something jus doesnt seem right here! So, my question for everyone on here is how often do yall fill ur Nautilus tanks? How long does a 15ml or 30ml bottle of juice last you? Id really like to know im not alone in this!

I DIY, and I can easily go through 30mls a day...no you're not alone LOL

I had a problem with leaking for about four months until I just recently switched juices to the one that my local store carries. The guys that work there are super great and have tried all the juices and haven't had any problems in their tanks. I didn't switch coils or anything and I'm using the new juices and have been for several days with no leakage out of the ones that were leaking horribly with the old uses I had. I really think it's because I had cheap juices that weren't up to par. I think maybe you need to look into the juices you're using and see about trying a different vendor. There are lots of reviews on vendors on the websites that could lead you to possible vendors that might be better for juices that won't leak. I had four Nautilis tanks that were leaking and now I have four Nautilis tanks that are not leaking.

@Crymsin thanks for sharing your success story. Unfortunately, however, I dont believe that is my issue. Im already using premium juice in my tank (Suicide Bunnies and Space Jam), and always have. So the juice itself is not the issue. Ive also tried other juice branda and blends(pg/vg). Again, to no avail. Since i last posted, ive turned up the voltage on my istick to 13-15W's. Unfortunately, the 1.8ohm coils from Aspire werent really made to handle all those volts. So im now pretty much replacing coils every 3-4days anyhow so the flooding isnt happening as much as before because the coil isnt in there long enough for that to occur. I know i should switch to a sub-ohm for that high voltage but i just dont care for the way those tanks hit. Im happy with my nautilus. Plus, im not looking to spend more $ on a whole new mod and future coils.

The juices that were leaking were from a company I had been using since I first started vaping over a year ago and everything had gone fine until the last two orders. Something changed in their juices and I'm not sure what. The company refused to address the issue and I found some other juices that leaked too which is why I switched to the ones I knew were working great for the guys at my local store. Not only did I get to try the flavors first but all my leaking is a thing of the past. Even though you're using juices that have worked for you before, you don't know if the company may have made some changes... Maybe even to their suppliers... That might be causing the issues.

Hey there,

I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong section, but I have a problem with my Aspire Nautilus:

it keeps flooding all the time. After closing it up, I get about 3-4 clean drags before it starts gurgling and vapor production goes down to almost nothing. The vapor also starts to really burn in the back of the throat, and loses all the taste. I think its the place where the chimney meets the head, that's where the juice appears to be leaking in. I already bought new upper hardware which arrived just yesterday, and at first it seemed to have solved the issue, but now it's started again. When I shake the Nautilus, I seem to be able to shake tons of juice out the front end, everytime it starts gurgling again.

The only way I can get it to work is by screwing it down uncomfortably tight, so tight that I'm afraid I might strip the threads on the inside of the chimney, where it screws onto the head. I was already getting metal shavings in the juice with the old upper hardware.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, has anyone been able to solve it?
I own an Aspire
Nautilus ,4 Aspire Atlantis's 3 Aspire Triton's Never ever had any issue's with any of them .They work excellent very dependable ! Sorry you're having trouble ! I use DIY e-liquid . Tried and True DIY ,I don't take chances on vendor e-liquid only got burned a few times , so 3.5 years ago I started DIY ,no regrets !

I had this issue after I got my new BVC replacement coils, checked the code and its original. Suffered a lot and wasted a lot of juice until I did this: wrapped 3 times a metal wire (not sure what thickness, just stripped some jumper wire) around the holes on the atty, and for the past 4-5 hours - not a problem at all with leaking. Since I use one atty for like a month or so, doing that seems to be not an issue - took me 1 min or less. See the photo.

OK, I am giving up, whatever I did gave a temporary fix and now it continues flooding.
I am going to look for another tank, maybe something that I can do custom wiring and wicks...

I did a search online for my Nautilus leaking which lead me here and felt I should respond because I may have found the cause and solution. I read through this thread and it gave me some ideas. One was to screw the coil into the stem that comes down from the globe instead of screwing it into the base. I haven't tried this yet, but what I have found which has solved the problem of my leaking I believe is based on the same thing.

I believe the source of the leaking is at the top of the coil where it makes contact with the globe stem so what I do is just barely screw the coil into the base a couple of turns. This allows the top seal on the coil to make proper contact to the seal in the globe stem. The coil will still screw down into the base farther as you tighten the globe down.

The problem with the design that is causing this, is that you have two seals that need to be seated on both ends of the coil, but this is restricted by how far you can screw the globe down onto the base, and what happens is the globe tightens on the base all the way before the top seal on the coil is seated against the globe stem.
How this could be cured would be to have a larger, mushier seal for the globe where it makes contact with the base. This would allow for more lea way in how far you could tighten the globe in a sealed condition and have the seating of the coil fall within this range.

But for now, the solution at least for me is just don't screw the coil down into the base all the way. Or possibly screw it into the stem instead of the base which I haven't tested yet.

You are setting up wrong. Screw the atomiser into the tank first and then screw the base in. Not too tight only need a bit of "squish" on the silicone, but not too loose as to not making contact with the center pin in which case you will get a check atomiser message.

PS I noticed the same leakage myself the first time I set it up, the atty was screwed into the base the first time I took it apart.

Thanks, I will be trying that next as I am still seeing some minor leaking. Nothing like before, but some occasionally. I screwed it into the base initially because that's what the instructions that come with it tell you to do.

I think the instructions are wrong for the Mini in particular; it can tighten up without the atty screwed firmly into the tank, which makes it leak.

Hey guys. Im relatively new to the vaping scene. But im an expert at things that piss me the f*ck off. And i found what the problem is. At least with my tank. So the flooding problem comes from the coil. You see the little wick holes? If they arent completely below the (main sucky tube thingy) youre essentially sucking up air AND juice. This is difficult to see on the nautilus but easy to see on the mini. So two solutions are possible. Get a coil that has the wicking holes placed a little lower or screw the coil into the bottom part first the look into the glass and only screw in to where the holes DONOT go into the tube thingy. Again on the mini its easy to see but the nautilus may need some fiddling around with. I hope this help some of you guys.

I recently bought the original aspire nautilus because i was looking for a good atomizer for someone who does mouth to lung
and it (almost) works, i got flavour, i got great throat hit.. and i got a lot of gurgles and leaking :|
i tried to fix it, the only thing i left to try is to put a rubber ring in the coil tube like someone on youtube suggest, but i can't decide if it worth to probably damage the drip tip (by removing the rubber ring from there) and put it in the tube.

fact is: this nautilus is a defective piece of hardware

and what i can't stand, is people here trying to pose as "vaping gurus" that tell other users that problem is not the piece of junk atomizer (yes, if it leaks is a piece of garbage!), but the user that "can't make it work, so it's stupid"
Are you people serious? we wasted money on something that will inject ourself with nicotine juice, so yes, if we want to cry in a forum, we have the fucking right to do so.
Stop being smartasses about vaping, it's so fucking lame, you're lucky to get a non defective atom. or don't care about the leak, but acknowledge the fact that A LOT of other users have troubles with it, and it's not because we're retards or not informed.

Dude, i just asked for help in the post above, can you read?
Aniway, following the advice in the aspire forum i put 2 extra o-rings on top of the coil, and dismembered two new coil s in the process, i'll let you know if this worked.
Didnt knew i had to mcgyver the shit out of the aspire leakilus, i guess thats what i get for being a cry baby? :)

You didn't ask for anything. You bitched about the tank. You bitched about the members of this forum.

Is your nautilus leaking or flooding? Does it leak while not being used like the juice comes out while it sits over night? Or does it get too much juice in the coil when you use it(flooding)?

Hi guys, vaping for a month now... 3rd mod and tank now. Nautilus being my favourite.... when it works... so reading the posts here i felt compelled to sign up.... having many issues with my tank flooding.... yes seems my seal on top housing underneath drip was upside down..... smooth side needs to be facing up and everything screwed together tightly... and yeh now no need to suck on the damn thing.... seems the vacuum is now effective.... oh yeh dont necessarily feel the need for the bvc atomisers... im getting best results from a triton mini NI200 - it works great with the nautilus... very juicy flavours.... but yeh i like trying every option... have an ebay store so plenty of spare change in my r&d budget when i obsessively work out a new interest... vaping being the latest.... i gotta say vaping has saved my life.... i can breathe again... so it has become important for me to get the best out of an ecig as i really dont want to go back to smoking.... having asphyxiated and passed out for 5 minutes recently enough.... glad i took a chance with vapes.... first time in 20 years i dont have 50 smokes in my lungs daily.

Brand new member who got here looking for solutions for my relatively new Aspire Nautilus. Yes, I have experienced leak and gurgle. I used a Protank 2 for a couple of years without issue but my wife always had leaking and gurgling issues. Now it seems to be my turn. I have googled this issue a lot and get conflicting "solutions" even in this one thread. One says store it right side up always. Another says store upside down when you go to bed etc. Here is what seems to be working for me. (1) tore it all apart and cleaned it. (2) put the coil in the base very tight. (3) started vaping like I did with my Protank 2 where I almost let it do all of the work and I pull very little. (4) Use the biggest air hole. The only thing I think I will try different is next fill, I am going to check the direction of the upper seal and then I will screw the coil into the tank first instead of to the base first. So far things are working pretty well but I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I would have love to find others who came here, griped a bit, then never came back to see if it was fixed after trying things or if they gave up and went a different way. I understand this is an old thread but it does not seem old to those of us who just started experience these issues. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who has contributed positively with suggestions even if I have not tried them all yet.

Welcome to the forum.

I don't think many are using the nautilus now. Getting good coils was starting to be a pain so I switched to a RTA. The old original coils worked great for a couple years but they changed them. The tank is still a good tank. The new coils have been fucked up. I still use my nautilus mini for my nightly tobacco vape with no problems but I have a bunch of old original coils that I stocked up on over a year ago before the shit coils came out. I don't have any issue with them.

Hey guys, I just ordered an aspire nautilus 5ml for my mom, wash it out, hooked it up and immediately it started to gurgle, after a few puffs I checked the inside of the base and it was flooded, so I cleaned it out, again flooded. I ordered it from fasttech, everything else I ordered from there was genuine (crown coils, aromamizer, mods). One thing happened while disassembling, the top o-ring was on the glass tank, so I took it off and put it inside the top cap, really pushed it all the way down below the threading, is it not supposed to be there? should it sit just on the glass tank? I tried 5W, 10W, small and big airhole, as soon as I assemble it just floods. Now every time I try to vape on it, the juice just come up at the drip tip. What else can I try ? the coil itself looks like this

yea..I tried everything, only thing left is to smash into pieces. Turned out the coils were much better in the box of the nautilus than the authentic replacement 5piece/box, those are straight burnt first hit while flooded...biggest garbage of all time, not even close, used it for 5puffs in total.

i replace mine with 1.8 ohm claption coil for trition mini. works better than the pre installed one on nautilus

I found after much messing around that putting about 3 or 4 wraps of teflon thread tape ( the white stuff plumbers use) around the top thread of the coil - where it goes into the chimney fixes leaks and gurgling. Thin the tape down to the tread width first. This works! its a design fault the juice capillaries up and into the chimney......Hope it helps.

Nice. That's a good idea.

Order some Kabuki clones from Fasttech and throw the damn Nautilus away. Problem solved.

Triton Mini tanks vape great, if you can find them. No leaking. Use Nauti or Triton Mini coils.
