“Was it safe? Was it properly rebuilt? Should it have been sold?” he said.
But when asked who needs to be held responsible, Goldberg said it's too early to determine.
“We don't have enough information yet to point fingers at anyone,” he said.
In the meantime, Goldberg said, it's about increasing awareness of potential dangers, which some experts have attributed to batteries."
Highlight 1) Rebuildable mod in pocket - Probably user error
Highlights 2 & 3) "We don't know who to blame" - Probably user error
What do I think happened?
Either A)
The mod had no firing lock (like the Manhattan) and fired in his pocket burning his hand and nutsack
or B)
The user didn't bother to lock the mod before sticking it in his pocket Then It fired in his pocket burning his hand and nutsack
Hence the lawyer stating “We don't have enough information yet to point fingers at anyone,” because the finger needs to be pointed at the user.
Lawyers don't show their hand before all bets have been placed and this one just did - 5150
