So does anyone here have any problem getting blueberry flavors to stand out? I have 3 right now that I can use and they all seem to be easily muted by other flavors and they don't really pop. The 3 I have are Wild Blueberry (TFA), Blueberry Extra (TFA), and Bilberry (FA).

Anyone else have issues with these flavors or maybe do they take a while to come in with steeping? Is this something with blueberry in general?

Yeah I really just got the Bilberry to maybe accent the other blueberry flavors a bit. I haven't used it at more that 1% in combination with them really. It seems kind of perfume-like otherwise.

Have you tried mixing all three together, just mix a little of each, a couple a time. I do that a lot with different brands.

Can you give us an example with a recipe that you're having problems with? If you're using too much flavor, it could cause that issue.
Blueberry is a hard one. Many come off perfume-y. However, you have two of my favorites right there in the Blueberry Wild and Bilberry. Bilberry is my fav but the extra is great as well. I use low percentages on both though and they stand out fine in my personal recipes.

Yeah I've worked with it like that a little bit and it seems to help.

Here's one example of something I was messing around with..

Wild Blueberry (TFA) - 6%
Blueberry Extra (TFA) - 4%
Bilberry (FA) - 1%
DX Bavarian Cream (TFA) - 5%
Sweet Cream (TFA) - 2%
Marshmallow (TFA) - 3%

With this, I mean I can tell the blueberry is there but it just seems muted to me. I think what I need to do is go back to basics; i.e. - start with the blueberry mix only, and get it like I want. Then add the creamy elements slowly from there.

Yes, start with the Blueberry's the way you like it then so add the cream. Personally I do not like the Bavarian Cream, try it without it first. Start with one flavor at a time. To give blueberry a little more depth, maybe a a drop of cranberry or cherry.

Blueberry's I have used need a higher % usually around 6 to 7% sometime when you have higher amounts as you have described can reverse the strength now don't ask me why but it does. The creams you have should not mask the flavor although the bavarian cream at 3% is plenty and that cream will not shine till after 12 days of steeping then becomes stronger with better flavor.

Roger that. It's been steeping for about 14 days now. It's not too bad, just not what I had hoped for.

I tried Capella blueberry, but there is a perfume undertone imo, even after weeks of steep.
I received Flavour West blueberry, it smells ok, the mix is not done yet.
I'm reluctant to FA bilberry (sour) but a touch could be interesting.

a couple drops of coconut can enhance your blueberry flavor too, not sure why but it does

The "happy dance" (see the DVD of Wllmc to learn it) is a minimum required in the process of making a (tough) blueberry recipe.
