I have FA Brandy and FA Whiskey. FA Jamaican Rum and Gin are on order. As a soon to be recovering alcoholic (read "current drunk") I'm wanting some booziness in my vape arsenal.

I've been playing with Boozy fruit mixes and I'm not really getting much booze from 1.5-2% Brandy. It's good but not boozy enough for me. Last night I added ~0.5% whiskey and it completely dominated the mix. FA Whiskey is a damn realistic flavor but I don't want to vape straight whiskey.

About to mix up some Boozy Bilberry with an addition of 1 drop of Whiskey per 10ml to see if that gets the booze flavor up with the Bilberry.

The latest mixes have been
2 or 3% fruit of choice (fuji and bilberry so far, many more to try once the booze base is figured out)
2% Brandy
0.5-1% Oak (didn't notice a lot of change when I upped it to 1%)
going to try 1 drop of Whiskey per 10ml next.

What would you change?

I'm thinking a little Rum might be what I'm looking for. I just got Gin so that my FA liquor cabinet would be fully stocked.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Whiskey changes a LOT over the first few days. I like it fresh - yeah, it has some bounce to it. After a day or two, it's much tamer.
So actually, you might want to mix a bigger bottle, enough to last a few days, and try it each day to see when you like it best.

Rum is sweeter than Whiskey or Brandy. I don't think of it as very boozy, really. I often use it as a sweetener in bakery/coffee vapes.

Gin is up there with Whiskey to me. It makes fantastic cocktails, very realistic, refreshing summery flavors.

Oh - make sure you give all these a shake before measuring. If you find Whiskey boozy, 2% Brandy should also give you a little kick. (comparing both fresh-mixed).

If you have the flavorings, you might like this:

Thanks a lot for weighing in HIC! I didn't think about Whiskey mellowing out after a couple of days. I'll definitely take that into account and mix it a little strong fresh.

I was afraid Rum would be more sweet than boozy. It might still have a place because I want a sweet-ish liqueur kind of flavor. The rum can provide the sweetness. May have to find a good balance between Brandy and Whiskey to get the booze level I'm looking for.

Is 2 to 1 Brandy to Oak a good ratio? How high is too high for those? I felt like I was pushing it when I went to 2.5% Brandy and 1% Oak.

Haha yeah Whiskey definitely has some "bounce" to it. That's one way to describe it. An in your face shot of neat Whiskey is what I was getting last night. Needed a Cola chaser!

"too high" is when your eyebrows rise into your hairline when you vape it. lol. That's totally up to personal preference. I don't drink, but I really enjoy vaping the flavors.

Got FA Cola? Rum and Coke, whiskey and coke - those are both good. Rum and Coke won't change a lot, but a whiskey version sure will change with time (better fresh imo).

Haha I gotcha. Cola is on the way as well. Placed an order last night and snagged 20 more flavors, all FA. :)

Definitely excited to try Rum and coke.

I'll keep playing with brandy and oak. Might try bumping the brandy up past 2% but leave oak at 1%. We'll see how that goes.

If they make it we have it... or it's on the way. I'll check tomorrow for you. Been getting our new bottling /shipping receiving building up and running so my head has literally been in the clouds lately. You need them if I have em?

Edit: I made a dumb assumption that you lived in the US... Do you and do you need flavors or are you a supplier outside the US. New to the forums

just got a craving for a bourbon tobacco. As I whiff all my FA tobbies, I wonder if one could craft a bourbon from mostly tobaccos. Heard a rumor it's been done for coffees...

eyeballing this whiskey recipe for premix, heard his recipes are pretty good ;)

I can do bourbon with a side of domestic light beer. Bulliet and Coors Light is a good combo. Straight up favorites though would be Lunazul Silver or Hennesey. No wonder no one wants to drink with me huh? o_O

That black barrel is intense! I haven't messed around with it lately but it's a great change of pace. I had to drop the Marzipan (can't stand that flavor and it stands out in everything I've tried it in). IIRC I replaced it with Cherry. It threw off the balance of the original a little but it was still quite good. I like a lot of flavor and I can't imagine doubling up on that one.

dammit I'm pretty sure perique and latakia are the only FA tobbies I don't have... I have 11 or 12 of the FA tobbies. Never got into actual pipe tobacco so it hasn't been guiding my shopping... the tobacco descriptions are some pretty good inspiration, thanks @Smoky Blue

Oh yes I did.

@HeadInClouds, in all of your flavor travels, have you ever seen a vape-safe green olive flavor that you can remember? I like my gin martinis up, dry and dirty. I can't find a green olive flavor though.

Just that FA olive-flavored oil. ewww.
Thumbs up on FA Gin - what a great summer flavor.

For those who drink adult beverages at home or in public bars/saloons/nightclubs etc., what flavors do you like to vape? I usually drink beer because I'm cheap and it keeps me in better control from doing anything wacky.
What is a good flavor to vape with beer? I might try a tobacco flavor since that is what I used to have with my beers.

me, i can't stand cheap beer.. cant deal with the smell.. if I am drinking, it better be good. ;)

Oh no, I'm cheap, but I too don't care for cheap beer. I meant as oppose to Dalmore 62 Single Highland Malt Scotch or Tequila Ley .925 with Diamond Encrusted platinum Bottle.
I have spent too much on vaping to go top shelf.

Depends on the beer - out here we're into aggressive, hop-forward ales, which is a lot of what I drink. I find various fruits to be the best complimentary vape. With darker, maltier beers I'm more likely to go with some sort of bakery or cereal flavor. I haven't really experimented with tobaccos yet, though I have a few in my arsenal and may eventually mix something up to try.

If you're into yellow, fizzy beer I have no idea what to vape with that - there's probably no saving yourself from the attendant notes of sadness and failure that overwhelm all the domestic macro brews...

olives.. mmm... aren't they packed in vinegar.. like....

pickles http://wizardlabs.us/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=296

Now SB... that's just crazy talk. Everyone knows that pickle juice goes with tequila and olive juice goes in martinis. :D

Just toss some of that brine in.

I thought you were joking. Now I'm starting to wonder since I just remembered seeing liquor bottles in the back room of a local B+M. They were up next to the flavorings and corresponded with liquor flavored juices they sell. You shouldn't just go putting olive juice in e-liquid should you? Too many unknowns in there I would think.

Agreed, ew on the FA Olive Oil. What do you put with FA Gin HIC? The FW Martini tastes like vermouth which I like in microscopic amounts in my Martinis. I usually use 2-3 drops per large martini.

I just began my foray into tobacco mixing yesterday so I'll let you know how that works out in a week or two. I could see a nice tobacco vape working well with a cold beer. I like bright fruity mixes with beer usually. Like OBDave said, it kind of depends on the beer. I tend to go the opposite direction he does though. Brighter/sharper beers are paired with sweeter or savory vapes and maltier or heavier beers get paired with brighter fruitier vapes. Assuming I plan it out at all... Sometimes it's just whichever atty I grab. I tried boozy vapes while drinking and that didn't work out real well.

One mix that works for me while out drinking is my little brothers ADV.
4% WL Menthol
2% FA peppermint
6 drops per 10ml Koolada

It serves double duty as a palette cleanser and breath mint. :) Again, depends on what you're drinking though. Wouldn't want that in the middle of a Porter, but maybe afterward.

I just wanted to make sure. I was slightly horrified at the thought of a B+M putting liquor in e-juice. That's almost as crazy as brine no?

Citrus! And all the flavors you find in gin cocktails. For starters: http://www.drinksmixer.com/cat/2031/
It's so brisk, fresh, and crisp - a really awesome mixer, so to speak.

Oh dear.

YES. I'm going to go stare at my citrus flavors for awhile now. I hate that my limes appear to be bad, that was my first idea. I thought about a little FA cola for the fizz and some lime for a gin and tonic vibe. I don't like the drink but the vape might be good. I'll give it a whirl when I get new FA limes.

Oh dear. <- Different inflection than above. ;)

No shit?! I know I shouldn't get it. But I probably will. Along with some TFA Pickle. I'll have to send wllmc a sample once I mix it.

I will avoid this idea, though I had pondered the idea.
In all fairness none of my boozy mixes are really awesome yet either. Maybe the right boozy vape paired w the right beer could work but I think the other suggestions so far have a better chance. IMHO. Taste is so subjective. Only one way to find out!

It is on order my lady. I think my first stabs with it will be margarita (duh) and tequila sunrise. Haven't tried an orange juice flavoring yet but I have FA Orange and FA Mandarin. They could combine somehow and suffice. That will be research well applied since I also want to try a Mimosa. Got this TFA Champagne that has only been opened and smelled a couple times. Read that it was good with grape but after trying 7 different grapes I've lost hope on grape for a little while.

A margarita will obviously involve tequila, lime, lemon and orange (in diminishing order) but It'll need some salt. I've toyed with saline in fruit mixes but you can't actually get a salty flavor with it can you? Wrong kind of salt, correct?

ETA - I didn't spring for TFA Pickle yet. I'm getting brave but not that brave.

Now that would be a question best answered by @HeadInClouds, the only "salty" vape flavoring I've ever had was bacon - hardly an ingredient for a margarita. Lol!

dip your drip tip between vapes - lol

Either "salty" is impossible in a vape, or I'm personally incapable of tasting it. I've tried supposedly-salty flavors, but it doesn't taste salty to me in a vape.

(I finally found a 'sour' I can taste - TFA Sweet-tart - so maybe I'll eventually find a 'salt', too.)

Here's a kaktus marg: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-presidential-prickly-pear-margarita.22788/ (Feel free to ignore my negative remarks about FW Tequila there if you like that flavoring)

Haha you are absolutely right. I have had a BLT Bloody Mary that was the best BM I will ever have. Not ready to even think about that as a vape though.

LMAO. Good idea there @HeadInClouds ! No need to add salt to the juice.

Interesting that you haven't tasted a salty vape yet. I tried a salty caramel at a B+M but have no idea what was in it. The salt flavor was there though. For me, at least. Thanks a lot for the link! Heading over there now. Every time I think I've seen all of your recipes I see another one... <- Happens to me twice a day for 4 months now.

Your Presidential Margarita recipe post answered a couple of questions for me (how to make triple sec vs grand marnier, when to use Bergamot etc). I bow before thee HIC. Thank you so much.

Believe it or not, I tried a liquid from High Desert called "Bubba's Pig Sap," which was described as a caramel apple topped with bacon. It's so good it prompted me to order bacon flavoring - lol! I haven't tried making my own yet, but it's on the list! ;)

I love bacon as much as anyone but I'm not sure I would know what to do with it in a vapor recipe. Maybe as a side dish in a 3 course vape breakfast w my future biscuits and gravy and a fruit mix?
