Poke Cake

The raspberry sweet mixed with the fa raspberry makes a perfect raspberry candy flavor, exactly like you'd get in raspberry jello. I tried it with just fa raspberry, and it wasn't right, but then threw in the TFA raspberry sweet. It turned out perfect. Sometimes there are no subs. ;-)

But, if I were going for strawberry, I'd use mixed with both TFA strawberries.

Raspberry is real strong! I love beaver glands. I think if you kept the base you could use different fruits in your cake...correct me if I am wrong cramptholomew, but I'm guessing the tfa raspberry sweet gives it a sweeter taste as compared with fa fruits? The poke cake I made w/o the tfa whip cream and tfa sweet raspberry isn't sweet...more of a berry poke cake w/o the sugar or whipped cream, but I like it. I like the combination of cake batter, creams, and lime.

Yep, I think this will be a good base to try with the other fruits too.
Cake Batter & VC are good ones for sure...
You could probably get away with using Marshmallow instead of Whipped Cream if you have any.
I don't think it really has much flavor, just adds some body and sweetness IMO.

Funny, as I was vaping this yesterday while drinking my Coffee with Cream, Stevia, and Heath Coffee flavoring, the vape became real good.
Coffee was quite sweet, so yes, I suspect it needs more sweetness for me.

I do have both TFA Strawberry & Strawberry Ripe, but will start with lower amounts next time.
Don't know if TFA has a Sweet Strawberry tho, but the regular one is kinda sour.
Surprised you don't use FA Strawberry in this.
Also have CAP Sweet Strawberry & Strawberries and Cream.
Experimenting is half the fun tho...

I forgot about the Caps Sweet Strawberry. I don't have it, so it's not on my radar (keep meaning to pick some up). I'd probably go so far as to pick up some strawberry jello, and see which flavor(s) fit the bill.

IME, CAP Sweet Strawberry mixes very well with TFA Strawberry Ripe to create a more complete Strawberry taste. Also if your not a fan of custards like myself, or don't want the dense flavor that comes with custards, you can sub in CAP French Vanilla instead of CAP Vanilla Custard for a very simular flavor without the custard.

Good idea, and I've got both CAP Vanillas v1 & v2 cause I'm a Vanilla Hound.
I also use CAP NY Cheesecake sometimes but it does have it's own flavor.
And I think it has the "D word" in it, but, I still use it anyway as it's just too good to pass up.

Heabob, what's your favorite vanilla or combination so far? -D

I add this combo to just about all my fruit recipes.

TFA Vanilla Swirl 3%
CAP French Vanilla (v1) 2%
TFA Sweet Cream 1-2%
(I used TFA French Vanilla mostly before but now I think I like the CAP better but the V2 tastes different to me).

Just started using FW Madagascar Vanilla in a few things and I like the taste from the bottle, it's sweeter than most others.
Got some Hangsen Vanilla Ice Cream but I've not used it yet, drip taste it's only average.

Some ppl say Vanillas require a long steep time, like some Tobaccos.
I tried steeping a few for a month, but no Cigar.
Gotta have a good recipe to start with I suppose.
Stand alone Vanillas I just can't get much taste, probably need 20% in flavorings lol.
Still working on it tho, albeit reluctantly...

Thanks Heabob! FYI IMO nv French vanilla is not good!

Mixing this up now, seems like a lot of flavor so I think this one will be fun. I learned I don't dislike VC2 thanks to a month steep of the White Coconut cake...

I've got Strawberry FA, and sweet/ripe TFA. Probably try a version with those once I check this out in a few weeks steep. Till then, thanks!

Never even heard of a poke cake. I had a neglected upbringing, I guess! I have all the ingredients to make the e-liquid recipe, but I gotta make me one of these actual poke cakes to eat. It looks like the best dessert EVER. Can't wait for both! :):):)

Every year, my wife makes "poke cake" on July 4th. It's a white vanilla cake, poked with holes, and raspberry Jello poured in it. Then it's chilled in the fridge, and topped with whipped cream. This is that cake. Exactly.

5% Capella cake batter
5% Capella vanilla custard
2% FA raspberry
2% FA fresh cream
2% TFA raspberry sweet
2% TFA Whipped Cream
1% FA apple pie
1% FA lime cold pressed
Well at least you are only subjected to it once a year.....jello?

:inlove:I just had my first poke cake EVER today- This one is white cake, strawberry Jello with whipped topping & strawberries. Holes were poked with a wooden spoon handle. This has got to be in the top five of desserts I have had in my entire lifetime! Thanks MUCH to the OP for introducing me to this kickass dessert! Loving it! {poke cake e-liquid recipe is steeping, too} :) WP_20180530_13_10_59_Pro.jpg

Next, try one with caramel syrup and condensed milk (mixed together), poured over it, topped with whipped cream (store bought or homemade) then sprinkle with broken up pieces of butterfingers, or heath bars. Cake flavor of your choosing... yellow or chocolate are both tasty.

Looking at the flavors, this doesn't seem like it'll have that thick cake mouthfeel. Can anyone atest to that?

Just mixed this reducing the whole recipe by 25% flavor total.

I decided to use OP’s suggestion of adding TFA Raspberry Sweet @ .50% with TFA Strawberry ripe @ 1.5% so my flavor total is 14%. Suggested steep is overnight but I just dripped some to try & it’s real good! Can’t wait to try again tomorrow :)
