What Do We Like For Dual-18650 Mods These Days?

Currently have a Sigelei Kaos Z and a Smoktech Mag P3. Love the Mag P3, but it's kind of large and heavy. The Kaos Z is ok, but the display is unreadable in bright light. Would kind of like to find something more the size and weight of the Kaos Z, but with a readable display.

Suggestions?

This my favorite Rebel Vapes with a DNA 75c or DNA 250c

Thanks for the follow-up, @MannyScoot, but better than $150 I'm afraid is out of the question :(

I'm thinking something more along the lines of maybe a Geek Vape Aegis X or so.

My buddy in Louisiana just got an Aegis x and he loves it......He got the Zeus edition that came with a tank and coils.

That Vandy Vape Swell looks like just what I'm looking for.

Right now my Legend and Nova box mods are daily drivers. I do use various rda-rdta's and my trusty og Crown to keep a variety going. My previous daily was an Ipv8, which is currently auto-firing. I also use 3 battery mods often as well. My wife's daily is a COV Tempest courtesy of our own @ms.trixie and her amazing pricing on her gear.

Update, for those who may have missed it: Vandy Vape Swell: A Nice Mod That's A Temp. Control Fail

So I guess I'm still kind of looking. I think I may look into Smok's smaller dual-18650 mods. Assuming they use the same chip as in the Mag P3, at least then I'll know TC is done right.
Just grab the Wismec Reuleaux RX 2 Dual, and install the firmware that I linked to in my previous reply.

One of the things I'm looking for is smaller/lighter. Something that can take 21700s is probably not what I'm looking for.

I think I may give a Vaporesso Gen Mod a try. I'd been looking closely at that one when the SMOK Mag P3 snared my attention. Don't know why I didn't think of it this time around.

In the meantime: I've reached out to Tony B to see if he has any comments on the Swell's TC limitation. I'll let y'all know in the thread I referenced above what, if anything, I hear back.

This time around I decided to give the Wismec Sinuous Ravage230 230W TC a try. This time I checked Vaping360 for their more in-depth technical review before pulling the trigger :) I'll let y'all know.

The RX 2 Dual is a dual 18650 mod, same as the Vaporesso GEN. The GEN is made of aluminum, very lightweight and durable─although not IP67 so not waterproof, but barely weighs heavier than the single 18650 Geekvape Aegis solo after the batterie(s) are installed, lol─and the bumpy silicone layer keeps if from attracting sweat/grease so it really does feel nice and comfortable at all times. I'm not sure they fixed the TC problems in the firmware with the GEN, there have been many reports from buyers of this mod all saying TC is useless on this mod... it works well in power mode, though, and TBH power mode is all you really need because TC is just a waste IMNSHO. Even, if using an expensive DNA mod it still doesn't vape better so what's the whole point of going for TC? Something to note about the GEN is that the overheat protection, that prevents the mod itself from overheating, is fairly sensitive so not suitable for going outside at times when the weather gets very hot. The reason why I recommend the RX 2 Dual is because it is still a small mod despite it isn't as lightweight as the GEN, but anyway not that heavy, and, with the firmware that I linked to, you can use the (also free-to-download) NFE Tools software on a Windows PC, which gives you the ability to customize your own power curves, as doing that can speed up the rampup time of the coils for noticeably improved flavor performance. Other mods that have a similar feature (the so-called "preheat" feature) either don't allow it to be fully customized so they only give you a selection of fixed presets, or the customization requires you to manually re-adjust the entire set of parameters [that make up the preheat function] each time when you change the wattage on the mod up or down so it is tedious to the point of no one using it as a result from that. Whereas with ArcticFox it is auto-adjusting itself on-the-fly so it automatically scales with your wattage setting you set on the mod. Nothing compares.

Good one, I'll pick one up as a backup for my backup but I'm still looking for a lighter mod for a change of pace. Is the Gnome a must have? I have too many different coils
No, the Gnome tank is nothing special, but I think you'll be hard pressed to find just the mod without the tank. At around $40 for the kit you basically get the Gnome thrown in for free anyway.

You may regard TC as a waste, but I like it. Surprised to hear the Vaporesso Gen Mod had trouble with TC. TC was one of the things at which the reviewers claimed it excelled.

In any event it may be moot, as I decided to go a different way this time.

Good to know, I'll probably buy a couple boxes of coils anyway

The Gen does look nice and the light weight makes it really appealing. I don't use TC but if a mod has a feature that doesn't work I probably wouldn't buy it.
