Really weird problem

First, hi! I'm new here, so if I'm posting if the wrong place sorry for that. And English is not my first language so for that also sorry Okay, so I have a weird, at least for me, problem with my joytech exceed. Few days ago I bought new atomizer, because it was definitely broken (and that's also information I got in the store: that battery is good, but I need to replace the upper part of the device). I thought everything is good at the beginning but no, after few inhales the device just stopped working. And then when I'm not using it for few hours, it works for a few minutes again, and then it stops. Like if the atomizer wasn't connected to the battery but I checked everything, cleaned everything, changed coil 2 times (so now 3rd coil the same), doing everything like I'm supposed to (priming the coil etc.). I thought everything is connected too tight so I loosened it, didn't work. Thought it was too loose, tightened it, didn't work. So now I literally have no I idea what to do because I tried everything. And I had few problems with e cigarettes in the past, but never something like that: it works, then it doesn't work, I don't do anything, it works again and here we go again, it drives me crazy oh, and I keep battery charged, it's not the issue, actually charging doesn't help (I thought maybe battery just runs out really quick at first but no, it's not the issue). I really hope you guys can at least tell me what's the culprit of this problem

Hey! I don't know if the device matters that much in this case but maybe at least you know what could be causing this like technically? Because I'm definitely not an expert with that so everything would help

When you say stopped working do you mean wouldn't fire or just shut off completely. What ohm are the coils you're using? Gonna look for the specs and see the resistance range.

Does the screen say anything when it's not working. Check ohms,no atomizer?

Is this the device. No screen, internal battery with a max wattage of 50 watts. The stock replacement coils are a . 4 ohm and a 1.8ohm coil. Both used to probably keep you below 50 watts.
What is the name of the new tank the guy sold you? That's more than likely the issue from of the top of my head. The ohms of the coil may be to low and causing the mod to fire at a higher wattage than the battery can handle. It's a little smaller than a standard size battery.

So need to know the name of the new tank

Yeah, like the iLeaf Pico Squeeze, it may rely on the coil to regulate. Looks very similar.

Some of these small box mods do an auto-detect on the resistance of the coil, and then set watts based on that. OP probably needs to use coils that are close to the resistance of the original coils. Like @MrMeowgi said, mod can't handle those new coils safely.

It could be the internal battery has degraded and sometimes provides sufficient voltage and sometimes doesn't. Whenever you hit it the voltage drops. This is with any mod and lithium ion batteries in general. A load brings a "sag" in the voltage. It can take a minute or even two for it to return to maximum available voltage, even with a brand new battery.

One that's degraded will have less available voltage even when they say they're fully charged and will drop quickly from there. It could be that it works again after a little while because the available voltage has returned just enough for it to fire again and then it won't after it sags again and takes longer than usual for it to rise to a usable level again.

OR... maybe not Just a guess. Not having a screen with error messages makes it tougher to figure out what is going on.

It just doesn't fire, the device is on normally, lights blinking like it's charged. I used 1,2 and 0,5 ohm coils, the ones that come with the device and the ones bought in different place. And unfortunately, this device doesn't have a screen to tell anything only the lights signals to let you know how much power is left in the battery and which mode you're on (DTL or MTL). And btw. Yes, I tried switching modes and also restarting (because it's also an option), didn't help.

It's 100% good tank, sold in an official joytech package that says joytech exceed D19.

Well, what you said makes a lot of sense actually. I don't know the mechanics (I'm a stereotypical woman in that matter, I need tutorials to everything electrical ) but knowing basic physics it could be something like that. Because when I was in store for the new atomizer I showed battery to the guy working there, he checked it with other atomizer (to make sure that the atomizer is the issue) and he said the battery's fine. But it was after around 24h of not using the device at all, so no wonder. If I will left it right now for that time it works as well but vaping 1-2 times a day is not an option, I'm already smoking normal ciggaretes additionally which I haven't done in a long time. It's just frustrating because I thought I'd be good to go after buying a new atomizer but it turns out I should have bought whole new device, it would be cheaper then atomizer and battery separately

First and muy importante, please stop apologizing and humbling yourself. You're asking for help from family here on this forum. We're all human, we all got lives, we've all been new to stuff. We don't need apologies except in rare cases.

joytech exceed D19

This device was released in 2017. At best it's probably 2 years old. It has an internal 18500 battery.

(I think when you say "battery" you mean the whole device minus the tank. When I say "battery" I mean the battery cell inside that provides the power)

It is a practical certainty that the battery inside is nearing the end of it's life for good vaping. Even if that isn't the specific issue, I would get a new device. These batteries make electricity using chemicals. The chemicals degrade over time, even when not in use.

It will be quicker and a much more certain solution to just get a new one. Though nothing is 100% certain with man made devices, the tank is probably fine.

other thing is could be is a dodgy connection point between the Atomizer and the mod...at the base of the atomiser is a “Positive” pin situated inside the “negative” threads you actually screw the atomiser to the mod with...some of these positive pins are adjustable others not

anyway 4 things to rule out here

1. is this pin long enough to touch the positive pin on the mod
2. The pin should be longer than the threads, if it’s not it can cause a short and the mod refuses to fire
3. Check the coil and pin are touching each other
4. Juice or other crap inside the connection area ...the bit you screw in should be clean inside as should the base of the atomiser ...give it a wipe round with a kitchen towel

Re: 3 Typically with pre made coil atomisers when you screw the new coil in it should touch the pin I described above, and push it down, so to test this unscrew the coil push that pin up, then screw the coil back in..,.it should move down as you screw it in hand tight

mods using an internal battery don't last as long as mods that have external batteries, in my experience at least.
I'd look into one that uses separate batteries and *charge them outside of the mod*, like a Nitecore or other brand designated charging device
