I'm hoping BB users can throw some constructive criticism on a product I designed which has gone down like a lead balloon (sales = 0).
Tried selling on eBay & a British vaping forum.

I always have at least one BB on my coffee table and my OCD of not wanting to scuff the base brought me to design and 3D Print a display stand and went further by adding other holders, obviously I'm biased and love mine but it seems I am the only one.
I have done a dual and single stand.

So I could do with some brutally honest opinions please (I can take it as long as it's constructive) so I can either improve it or abandon it.

The only things I can think are:
It's something nobody 'needs'? (which I think is the main reason).
Too busy?
Plastic looks cheap?

Hopefully this doesn't come across as a sales pitch, I just want market research nothing more.

I like it, and think it looks really nice, but personally wouldn't buy. I am constantly making stands myself, but out of nothing bought. Some work out, some do not, but only thing invested is a bit of time. Not that the price is bad at all (really good imo), I just couldn't justify it.

Wow that's some impressive work! I do love upcycling, I especially like the tree trunk and pallet style :)
Your vape collection is equally impressive and very well organised.

Thanks again for the input, I think consensus falls into the 'something nobody needs' category - lesson learned which is the main thing.

Most of my items I do design for myself and try to sell some to fund more filament and further projects, I do waste a fair bit prototyping as I always try to improve it, especially panels which took a lot of work to get that perfect no panel rattle fit.

The only job (which actually got me into the Billet Box) were condensation plugs from a request, I ended up tweaking those into a version with a cotton slot and 4 different airflow hole sizes, prototyping was a pain on my quest for a perfect press fit but got there in the end and they sold well thankfully and time well spent.

So the Hippovape (wtf?!) VSS RBA for AIO mods arrived today exactly 21 days after it shipped from 3F. Running it in the Grimm Kit and flavor is really good... nowhere near the Xeta but not bad for something cheap.

Wicking and coiling wasn't awful but the deck is frickin TINY! I have a Ni80 29g, 8 wrap, 1.5mm ID coil in it and it comes out to 0.84 ohms. Kinda wish I had 30g for it... you literally cannot for bigger than 1.5mm ID! 29g kanthal may do the trick to get the resistance where I like it.

Airflow was somewhat loose with the 1.2 ohm stock coil. Airflow tightens right up with this little guy. Might try a vertical coil at some point for shits and giggles. Probably have to be 1mm to get it clear of the posts.

Oh, and Firestone Walker can do no wrong. If you see one of their brews, BUY IT. I've probably had a dozen varieties and I've never had one I didn't like.

Yes sir! Picked it up for $4.99!

Well worth the price! Firestone Walker has a booth with four or five taps in the beer garden for Danish Days in Solvang. If I remember correctly (doubtful) I had two danish burgers and one helping from each tap they had. I had to end the evening with a Danish red from Figueroa Mountain brewery - and that explains the fuzzy memory!:vino:

I've probably had somewhere in the neighborhood of a dozen different beers from them and have yet to try one I didn't like! Super consistent

And only about 15 min from my family in Lompoc! I really have to exploit that more often. For some reason we can't get Double Barrel Ale out this way but we seem to get everything else.

I still have a 2019 Parabola and a 2017 Stickee Monkee

@Mykreign what are those drip tips? The name is on the tip of my tongue (no pun intended) but can't remember it.

Do you use those with the standard key or do you need a flush one?

Those are Berserker drip tips. Super comfy, nice small bore. They do require a flush 510 nut though

Yup berserker MTL tips. I just use the standard nut though. It doesn't bother me that they don't sit flush with these. It kinda blends in with the rings on the tips.

Where did you get them from?

They xeta is the only DL build i've done in a billet box. I haven't touched any non billet box gear is probably 4 months.

edit: before the BB, i vaped 3mg at probably 60-100 watts, depending on the atty

i usually vape at 6mg in 0.20-0.30 single coil in entheon rda arround 30-45watt. question is..

if i want the same hit that i got from those setup, what bridges can afford 3mm fused clapton coil at 30-40watt? i already have haku xeta, but i need other to put in spare boro. can vapeshell afford DL setup like that??

I don't think it will. I think the coil will fit but I don't think you'll enjoy it as much as the Xeta bc of the chimney diameter. Be advised though, I only MTL with my BBs haha!

I'm not that good with a camera, especially a phone camera. Nothing I do will give me the shots I want :headbang: so this will have to suffice.
Got my SS internals kit and translucent boros today. I don't know if SXK has changed something or what, but these boros are a dream to work with. Glass slides up and down with ease and smooth as butter. Swapped in the black gasket and it seated to perfection on the first try. Could be just inconsistent manufacturing too.

I wish you guys could see it in person. Nothing fancy, but it looks awesome. Reflections and stuff everywhere in my shots.

And 32g 316L SS. Any suggestions? The other part I don't get at all, is where to start with the temp?

Try to get the resistance up around .2 at least with 316L Space your coils with DNA TC. I have that right from the honchos on the Evolv forums. Any hotspots will throw off the processor. Make sure you have a stable resistance reading.

I'm going from memory here. In Escribe, select which profile you want to work with and give it a name and screen name. I usually pick something like XE-SS if I were doing what you're doing.

Select material SS316L, tick the button for temperature sensing (you might have to do that first), or whatever it calls it and "temperature dominant." Set the wattage for maybe 25 assuming a resistance around .2. Higher, much higher is fine too. Set the wattage for whatever you would set it for for that build if you weren't in TC. A ramp up temp maybe 5 watts higher for .5 seconds will of course boost your ramp up.

Set the temp around 400. Preheat in the middle. Send it to the mod. Once that's done, hold both buttons on the mod for a few seconds until it locks. Then double clicking the buttons on the mod selects your profiles. Make sure the one you just did is selected.

These instructions should be pretty close This is all just a launching point. You might want to save the profile on your PC. If this first shot is good for you, you'll have it from then on. If not, you can twiddle with it until it is and then save it.

It seems like a pain, but once you get it set, it's great and the saved profiles keep you from having to start from scratch every time.

DNA boards will get more accurate as you use the build. I can't remember what they call that.

Admittedly, TC in a Billet Box can be even more of a pain if you don't get a stable resistance. It is one great consistent vape when you nail it though. Titanium is awesome. I need to get @Jinx'd some stuff like I told him, but things have been really hectic and I was thrown a financial curve-ball I wasn't expecting too.

Thanks. This all got me in, and set up. I did 3x twisted 32g SS. Got me .72. It's not 100% stable, seems to jump from about .67 to .75. I put it in SS mode, set watts @20 and temp @400. When I fire it, watts go down to and stay at 3-6 while firing? Something I have wrong here? Obviously extremely weak vape at that?

TC is just that... temperature regulated wattage control.

Many freak out that their vape goes weak, rather than consistent through the draw process... on the contrary its actually doing what should be done for the parameters set.

I read some adjusting the temps higher so the draw stays warmer, or adjust the wattage higher so that it throttles at higher wattage... this are just work arounds to try and mimic wattage vaping.

If you're getting a weak vape at 410f and 20w... just know that is about the temp cotton burns...

This is all predicate if you have the mod set up correctly also... if the internal resistance is off by 0.01 it can throw off the temp calc by as much as 10*... same as locking ohms on SS... no need for that. or setting up the temp calc when the coil hasn't come to room temps.

Anyway, long story short... if you have the parameters set to 400f and 20w... did internal resistance, and went to TC at room temp... the device is working as intended.

So if I am using wattage mod at 20 watts with a .8ish build I am continually burning my cotton?

No because TC is throttling your wattage. Lower your wattage or raise you temp to get the vape you want.

I'm asking when I am in wattage mod. I'm reading it to say that is buring? I usually set my mtl stuff up, in wattage mode, to vape between 4 and 4.2 volts.

Yes, but if it does do that, it's because the liquid is being depleted on the cotton. TC can be some trial and error getting it where you want. That's what turns people away from it. However, the way I have my DTL setup in the BB above, my last draw was right around 6 seconds and it was exactly the same from about a half second in, to the end of the pull. And every pull is exactly the same as every other pull until the liquid gets low in the boro. When that happens it gets weaker until I get the "temperature protected" warning. Put more juice in and we're off again. That's what draws people TO it. Perfectly consistent draws with no dry hits at all.

The great thing about DNA devices (YIHI has this too) is that once you find your sweet spot for a build, you just save the profile with all the results of that trial and error for future use.

I know you know all this. What it all comes down to is whether the result is worth the effort for a given individual. I'm pretty sure for you, it's not :) Which of course is fine.

I should add that the wicking obviously plays a major role in this as well.

I'm just gonna put this on the table. Of the common TC compatible wires, 316L is the worst. It has a low TCR curve which makes it the most difficult for even good circuits to track, and which is also why it's usable in wattage too.

If you really want to experience TC at it's best, you need something with a higher TCR curve, like 430 STAINLESS or TITANIUM 1

Until you've experienced top shelf TC with a really good TC material, you haven't really given it a fair shake.

Which is not to say that anybody SHOULD give it a fair shake. If somebody's happy with wattage mode, who am I to say they're not? I'm also not attempting to portray some kind of elitist condescension toward the vast majority who prefer wattage mode. There are REAL advantages there too.

All that said, I do suspect that many who poo poo away TC have not experienced it at it's best.

I liked TC when it mattered to me... even bought my Dani Mini to TC in the Dvarw... used Titanium, used 430, used nasty ass Nife30 shit that Dicodes sends... and here I am vaping in wattage. Why? Not because I couldn't get it set up, its ez as breathing... I just didn't like the taste of TC compatible wire, and experienced no appreciable difference... but the yuck taste I get from Titanium (which many rave about its purity) and Nife... my goodness, get the whirls thinking of it lol

To my defense, I think some may of taken my TC thing wrong, which I do admit some fault too... it was 5am and didnt have coffee and sort of an ass before hand... and say things in a rather of fact way...to which I say, "Why so serious" lol jk

My TL;DR point of my post at 5am was... if you set it up right, its doing its job, nothing more, nothing less ;)

Of course you know I'm going to say that my taste and experience, which are two sides of the same coin in this context, has been the diametric opposite. But that's just it with "taste and experience," in an arena like this. If somebody experiences no appreciable difference and hates the taste, they'd be nuts to continue.

I'm not trying to be a contrarian for the sake of it, but I truly prefer the taste of Titanium to any other wire. Or, for me personally, I should say the non-taste. At least compared to the several different types of wire I've tried, to me it has NO taste. It's a pretty good bet that you and I like some different foods too.

Also, I sincerely was not referring to you individually. Honest. I was speaking in general with regard to numerous conversations I've seen on many websites.

CCKS will have these, but you have to reserve one via Recon1

View attachment 148288

Since you like flippers, this is a full auto and CA legal.

Probably can pick one up there, but table price might be a lil higher... assuming this part, since you can still sign up to reserve one :)
I thought this was some kind of tactical pod vape.

in my experience, tc on any device has a harder time outside of plain round wire.

I was able to get claptons (Single core) to work by peeling back the wrap to expose the core... but it wasn't as consistent as plain.

My favorite on DNAs was 420f @24w in RTAs... 1.5sec preheat 40w 7 punch, utilizing SS430 24g 3mm 6 wrap plain spaced
