i came up with this coffee myself. for what it is, i think its pretty good. i will be making a bigger bottle of it.
and i am sure that someone that knows what they are doing could make it much better.

lol, now that's the way to commit!

You got me wanting a coffee vape so I'm going to try this but I'll have to sub the CAP Cappuccino for FA ... think I might augment it with a little caramel too. I'm thinking this will go nicely with the carrot cake I have going in my other device.

Thanks for sharing!

So let us know how it comes out. Everyone’s been posting Salted Caramel Macchiato recipes, or vaping Barista Brew SCM, so it would fit right in.

I mixed this SCM today, except I don't have the FW Salted Caramel yet, so it's really just CM, since I used FA Caramel instead.

I think this is going to work well for me, but I hesitate to recommend it at these percentages to others who really love strong coffee. If I were that person, I'd use a plain espresso flavor in place of the WF Brazilian Coffee.

This is a sweet, milky/creamy caramel coffee with no bakery or maple or butter like CWC would have. It is definitely more of a beverage flavor than CWC.

ETA: Add 1% of TFA Kettle Corn to simulate salt.

Also did a first mix of this Spice Cake, which I wanted to share with @wildgypsy70 if it turned out well. First taste on the back of my hand is fantastic. Spice cake with cream cheese and notes of lemon, frosting-y and buttery. Once again the powdered sugar has brought out the golden crust. No nut flavor in this one, which I normally would have added, but wanted something a little lighter this time.

I posted this in the "What are you vaping" thread (thinking I was in the DMT thread, so forgive the double post but some may not see it over there and since several are interested in SCM, I'll double post. I've made a couple attempts at SCM, and came up with a pretty decent coffee vape, some cream, slightly sweet, a little caramel, but the caramel is not coming out like I'd like, neither is the salt. It's definitely missing something that SCM has. I've got some VT Salted Caramel and VT Hard Crack Toffee. Nick Evans used the toffee at 3% and that may help. But he also used Chef's Choice Salted Caramel, maybe there's enough difference there.

I just realized I have some Hangsen Caramel Toffee. I wonder if that would help. Need something to bring out the FW Salted Caramel. Or maybe I'm using too much at 8%. Any thoughts?

Anyway here's my best shot so far, pretty good with a 17 day steep:

I wondered if saline solution could be added since it’s salty, but maybe not! lol

I have used saline in the past but didn't find it particularly useful ... unless, for some reason, you like gunked up coils, lol. I do have a Salted Caramel flavor but I haven't used it yet. I might give it a try later as I have my initial tester already steeping at present.

Hot damn, this looks great! And.....I have all the flavors! I’ll mix it up and check it out.....it could be a good base for the carrot cake that I’m still working on(v10 in the works as we speak).

Salt is a tough one. This looks pretty good! Maybe add some butterscotch to bolster the caramel? Caramel/butterscotch compliment each other nicely. The toffee might do the same thing! If the HS is what you’ve got, give it a shot. Maybe start around 1% and go from there.

I am really stingy with caramel in recipes because in my experience, it gets stronger and will take over a mix after about two weeks. Using the 1.5% of FA Caramel and the 1% of Dulce de Leche in my recipe, I find the caramel prominent enough and I know it will continue to develop. You may indeed have used too much of the FW Salted Caramel. No criticism intended - it's a process. :)

Also, if the FW Salted Caramel is not salty enough, I have no other ideas unless a light touch of Kettle Corn or popcorn will help. I've researched "salt" in eliquid several times and have come up with no concrete, proven methods to add a salty flavor that is realistic, especially one as prominent as the sea salt that's used on Salted Macchiato.

Actually I remember someone adding saline solution in the past but it was a special kind I don’t remember exactly which kind. It might’ve been the individually sealed ones.

I was trying to figure out a way to get the salty taste. I wonder if it worked. Are there any salty flavors, though? Thanks for not treating me like this was totally crazy.

The closest is FLV Beer Nuts. Unfortunately.....salt does not exist. We can get close, but not really......it sucks.

I doubt very seriously that you're slacking. You just put a lot more work into each recipe than I do. I move on from the ones I can't fix pretty easily. :)
Lol! Maybe. Also could be that I’m slacking! :giggle: I’ve got about 30 in development right now.....none of them seem right. Sigh.....

I recently took a shot at a peanut butter and jelly recipe. It was horrible. So then I tried again, and it was horrible too. Both of them looked great on paper, and I put every brain cell I could muster toward the effort, but I swear I believe that I just don't like peanut butter vapes! Tried two different brands of peanut butter in the different mixes too. Dunno, but I'm not even going there again. It was just gross.

I posted twice on it also. After I posted in the 'What Flavor" thread, I came here and saw the conversation, so yeah, I did the same thing essentially.

I know how you feel! It’s soooo frustrating to think somethings gonna work and it doesn’t! Argh! Peanut butter is a tough one, too. Gotta layer, add coconut or sun seed to get the creamy thing down.....but not as bad as chocolate.

I'm just now vaping a taste of this. God I wish there was a way to keep it EXACTLY LIKE IT IS. It is seriously delish, at least imo.

I hope you like it.

ETA: Lemon is pretty prominent, which I adore, but might need to rename this thing Lemon Spice if it hangs in there. I'm thinking it will settle some.

But does Beer Nuts mix with everything? lol Gosh, there’s so many flavors I’ve got to test! I’m the one who’s slacking around here. I’ve just been moseying along mixing one shots! :ack:
Lol! Nothing wrong with that! So.....disclaimer....I haven’t tried the Beer Nuts trick. I’ve just heard about it. It may or may not work. I’m gonna go check out ELR and read up. I know you use it really low so the nut thing doesn’t come into play.

so it looks like you use it low.....like 0.2% and lower. Mostly people are using it with nut mixes. It could work with caramels, I think.

Thanks, certainly no offense taken, I'm learning and your helping. I appreciate it.

I'll try backing off the FW Salted and try a little HS. Wonder how Barista Brew is getting such a salt flavor, it's definitely there, or at least I think it is. Might be something else.

So you throw out ones you don’t like? I mixed something I really don’t like and I just have it hanging around now. I prolly should’ve just emptied and washed the bottle!

Even the ones I'm not crazy over will usually be vapable. I just mark them on my list to not mix again without reworking them, or I just don't mix them again at all.

Sometimes over a couple of weeks I can tweak a recipe as I'm vaping it, and will end up with something that works. I keep up with the changes I make in ELR so I can always replicate what works.

The peanut butter and jelly is one of the few I've mixed that I just won't be able to vape. It hasn't yet been dumped, but will be soon.

So do you taste salt in Quincy? Remember we talked about potato chips and chocolate chip cookies? Salty and sweet, and that's what was in my mind when I put Quincy together, and I really think there's some salt there. If there is, it's from the Kettle Corn.

I'm a better baker than I am a cook. Love gingerbread, spice cake, pumpkin bread, with cream cheese and walnuts and plenty of spice and lemon. Don't bake as much as I used to - hubbs and I are fat enough already, but yeah, I've been at it for a long time. :)

I was one of those moms who lived on a very tight budget with a houseful of kids, so I had to get creative with food. It has helped me tremendously with mixing - but you'll notice I use a lot of flavors. I buy basics and put recipes together like I would have if I were baking from scratch.

I remember! I do taste a touch of salt in there....kettle corn does have that thing going on.
If they could figure out salt......whole new world!
