dovpo topside is malfunctioning badly

This problem has gotten progressively worse. I noticed that the up and down buttons are pushing by themselves. I sit my vape down and notice the wattage go up to 90 or down to 6.. by itself. The screen turns on and everything, almost like my vape has been hacked by aliens.

I noticed there was juice inside the glass also. not much but one drop. I saw a post where a guy had the exact problem and he opened up the vape and cleaned out all the juice. Well I took the front two screws off but did not see anything else to unscrew and nothing would come lose.

does anyone know how to take this mod apart? Needing to perform surgery stat!

You need to take ALL the screws out. Front, top and bottom. But to completely disassemble it, you'll have to desolder the bottom wire for the battery connection. Everything seems to slide out of the top of the mod. Jai Haze tried and stopped short of desoldering. It's the only video I've seen of disassembly of a Topside.

Thanks. I really suck at soldering and don't even have a soldering device. I just spoke to the manufacture and they said they will take a look at it and had my print and fill a form out. When I filled out the form I noticed where they mentioned if they find juice inside, it voids the warranty. I don't think that is particularly fair at all and I think the the juice being inside IS a defect of warranty.

okay here is my top side and those buttons on the bottom are what is malfunctioning, is that where I should spray that stuff? And where can I get it? I have seen duster at electronic stores but don't believe I have seen this. May need to go to lowes or home depot right?

Home Depot is one place I have bought it or an Auto Parts Store. You spray it on electrical contacts and I have never had it damage plastics but YMMV.

Any electrical switch or contact you can get to, or possibly inside the Mod if you can get to the switches.

Hi sound system00. Hope you don't mind my posting a problem since your thread is about the topside.

Just got my third topside today. I took my reload s and battery out to put on the new topside and the coil isn't getting the power it should. I vape that atty on the red topside at 46W but when I put the atty on the new topside and set it to 46W, it takes forever to heat up. It feels like its getting about half of that. Any ideas on what could cause this, while I get ready to send and email to Dovpo, lol?

Additionally, if you really want to extend the life of the chip, spray it down with conformal coating while you have it out and clean. It's basically a clear coat for circuit boards. That will protect it from static, juice, sweat, salt and minor abrasion. I coat all of my DNA chips. Just be careful not to get it into USB sockets.

It won't do anything about low quality Chinese components letting out the magic smoke.

An excellent suggestion. I've used it on computer parts a lot in the past. It cleans really well and evaporates almost instantly leaving no residue. If that's already been said I'm kind of out and about and haven't been able to read all that much.

Wow that’s pretty shady, we have a warranty but if the most likely problem that can happen, happens, warranty is void. Maybe explain to them you didn’t try to fill the screen with juice, you filled the bottle and juice leaked into the electronics. Being it’s a squonk mod that hold a bottle of juice inside it, if juice mitigates it’s way behind the screen that’s kind of a defect, right? It’s a design flaw that should be covered by the warranty. At the very least they should have coated the board with a waterproofing agent. Does their new fancy Topside Carbon have the same problem or did they fix it I wonder. You would think they’d isolate the juice bottle from the electronics and coat the board to waterproof it just in case. I haven’t heard the Carbon having this problem so maybe they addressed it which shows they know it’s a problem and is probably why they address it specifically on the return form. I hope you get a satisfactory resolution to this problem. Please keep us updated on what happens.

I have a similar symptoms with a Topside dual. Pressing the up key causes battery B indicator to drop to 0 and after a couple of times the mod says goodbye. The screen will come on randomly. I'm guessing a weak capacitor but it's possible that it's juice related. I'd like to send it to Dovpo to find out what's wrong with it but if I do I probably won't get it back. If I try to clean it before sending it, Dovpo probably won't even look at it. Saying the screws have marks on them which voids the warranty. Suggestions?

Also, I have a 90w Topside on the way. Would you coat the electronics on that before first use and blow off the warranty? The 90w has vents on the front for an even better chance of juice problems.
