I'm curious. What's the difference?

V4 is 21700 batteries which would be great except for -
Chews the fuck out of battery wrappers and an obscenely tense spring that you cannot service due to it being press fitted in.

You mean the battery contract spring/s? Or the button spring?

I keep hearing the new HOG is a v3 version.
there is a hellhound edition v3.2 that might be a more recent release than the v4. i wouldnt be surprised if they went back to releasing v3 special editions if the v4 is as bad as people make it out to be. i skipped it because i didnt like the feel or look of it, and i read more complaints than praise for it. that site @r055co linked to has the classic black v3 on sale right now. imo thats a no-brainer

i kinda wish i didnt just see that hellhound version. i promised myself 'no more hogs', and i broke that promise when the trinity came out. damn this forum and its enablers :grumpy:

I dont know if this really qualifies as super high end, but it is super high quality and enjoyable. Just got this baby in today and already in love with everything except that drip tip.

That tip is only good for real hot builds. I much prefer the dragon tip. Flavor is better with it and it feels better in the mouth.
Myself I really like the Kennedy Slam Cap, flavor is noticeably better and doesn't hold the heat like the metal.

Oh I classify Kennedy as High End, the quality and performance is there for sure. With all the High End gear I have my Kennedy's are my most used.

I'm really digging the new Ruby.
Very nice. I want another Kennedy.
Just do it ;)

I like the idea of the HOG, but read too many negative reviews on it. Is there similar to that that has a better build quality/consistency? IE, a multi-battery mod that is para-series?

There are a few

https://dragonsdenvapor.com/Tower-Mods-Box-Mod-by-Tower-Mods-Philippines-tower.htm

https://www.theserialvapist.com/product/nookie-v4-fully-mechanical-mod-by-vape-breed-ph/

MCM also makes kits that turn a few of their Mod's into paraseries

I like the idea of reviews, but read too many negative comments from real users who actually vape on an item before trying to discuss. That said, I own five HOGs, and, IMO booster kits are missing the whole point of going for paraseries... they look as stupid as they are stupid (which, TBH, is pretty stupid).

The exact opposite holds true... the shorter the distance between your coils and your lips, the hotter the vape gets. Use purely common sense

I have a stub dog tip and it provides a cooler vape than the dragon tip. It also mutes flavor. My lips touch the top cap with both. Go fuck yourself.

I have 6 Stub Dogg drip tips in ultem, 2 of 'em in brass, and 2 of 'em in copper. I also have 11 Kennedy RDAs, 8 of which came with the Dragon drip tip (that's 7 Dragon drip tips in stainless steel and one in copper). You are just a child.

I'll get one of the new Ruby's some day, but all of my buying is put on hold for a while. Tore my rotator cuff and going to have surgery soon. Means I'll be out of work for a while and money will be non existent. I'll just have to live through all of you for a while.

OK I have to comment on this and yeah I'll more than likely get shit for it but here it goes.

Yes I know shit loads of discussions about this and even Mooch has stated that the difference is the contacts not the rest of the mod. But I do have to say that I disagree. I have around (lost count long ago) around 80 or maybe even 100+ Mod's, shit I stopped counting when I got around 70 or so (yes it's a hobby so fuck off). Every single Aluminum, Copper and of course pure Silver Mod's hit shit load better than Brass or SS, I can tell a very noticeable difference. My pure Silver 2JNT Pilak's nothing comes close! Anyway here it goes, I love my Kennedy Vindicators and Ruby's, they're awesome. My SS Vindicator came with a full copper switch and it hit very well, no hot button's just great performance. My SS Vindicator came with a full Copper switch, hit very well and very pleased with it. I then got a SS Ruby 21 with the switch is SS with a full Copper contact, well on a regular basis I would get a hot button no matter how well I kept it clean. After deep cleaning I would use Deoxit Gold or even the MG Chemicals Silver Conductive Grease and still get hot buttons. My Samsung 30T's when they got down to around 4V - 3.9V I would start getting hot buttons. Well I took my full Copper switch from my SS Vindicator and also my Copper Vindicator and then DAMN! She hits much better with no hot button, not even close so I ordered a Copper Housing button (cheaper than the complete Switch).

Moral of the story? Yes even the body makes a difference, personally I believe it's this. It's "all" of the contacts, everything from the contact of the contact to the switch housing, switch to the mod, the mod to the RDA, the 510 pin to the posts, the posts to the wire, etc. Every contact (anything threaded) breaks shit down. I do know my Rig V2 Mod's with Silver Contacts (minimal contacts) hit very well but my pure Silver Pilak's along with my Hari V1 and Dos hit like a fucking freight train (everything is pure silver), nothing comes close, not by a long shot.

OK end of rant ;)
</rant>

My current Ruby 21 and one hell of a performer no hot button since I swapped the SS housing to full Copper ;)

Agree one thing I have noticed is mix and match of metals in the switch and delivery of current to the coil make a difference when it comes to the onset of hot fire buttons and maintenance, keeping things the same seems to help prolong use before it happens (as one part of the design feature) ..but then not many attys out there are silver or have copper contact pins to suit (some exist but very few are readily available)

Was really interested to see experience in the field with the ruby where atty is integrated so removes the above problem ...interesting to hear about hot button as stock

The contacts are a huge player along with the body of the switch itself. All I can say is this. Any and all connections make a difference. My rig Mod's hit very well. A lot of this is due to the fact they are one piece and I have pure Silver contacts. Anytime I have a Mod that is broke down unless the contacts are Copper, Aluminum, Silver it's shit.

even Mooch has stated that the difference is the contacts not the rest of the mod.
He didn't just state it. He designed a reliable test setup, which is an important part of what the guy factually does for a living, and, next, he used that setup in order to present unrefuted evidence of the fact his statement is perfectly correct (see: "Minding Your Mechs" episodes on YouTube).

Measured at 30 amps (the equivalent of about 110 watts), the total power loss of the copper Broadside Admiral was only 0.21 watts, versus 0.24 watts for the brass version of the mod. What this means is the difference in power output for copper versus brass turned out to be smaller than 0.03 percent so people who read this thread can compare that with your colorful exclamation of "nothing comes close!" after which they can come up with their own sensible conclusions about whether, vaping at around 110 watts, a difference of just 0.03 watts is big enough that they can feel it by vaping. (And BTW, anyone who has looked at the electric conductivity numbers for silver, copper, and brass knows that the difference between silver and copper is actually even much smaller when compared to the difference between copper and brass, so... here we go again, like usual........)

I take it Caramdouchebag slithered away from the mirror once again, I just have that Stool Sample on my ignore list ;)

Anyway yeah since I swapped the full copper switch from my SS Vindicator over to my SS Ruby hot button is no more and she hit's better.
