I have the deflector shields on standby.

As far as the water goes I am up on a ridge, might get some water in under a basement door is all.
Now wind, lighting and such is a problem if the deflector shields fail.
And all the mowing I did today was for others, mine still needs mowing.

Lucy mowing is a status thing around here.
the more you have to mow and the fancier your lawn mower....
Probably keeps things a bit more peaceful though as many rednecks are tied up mowing instead of getting into mischief or hold my beer and watch this moments.

Looked like @Huckleberried got hit pretty hard with a storm this morning.
I did? Man I was OUT last night, so tired. Rough week. Though, I took my pooch out in the YARD to do her bidness when I did get up. I could tell it rained, but it was pretty nice out. Not even humid, which was surprising. Yard looked nice, so getting it mowed before yesterday's storm was perfect timing.

I'm like you, Cromwell. I kinda like watching storms. The destruction sucks, but I like watching them.

No lawn work today but out early to pick up a ton of bricks. Loading, unloading and hand trucking into the back yard was a chore then I replaced the row of scalloped bricks next to the flower bed near the garage. Now to figure out what I will do with the remainder.

Although mowing can inspire hold my beer moments. Consider the guy that souped his riding mower up with a jet engine. He's on about his fifth lap coming around the planet now. Eventually, he'll run out of fuel. Quick, lets get a pool on that he ends up in the water somewhere.

Our mowers didn't show up yesterday as is their usual day to mow. My dog took me outside yesterday evening and by sniffing the air and looking at me like I was strange, made it clear it had rained some, possibly would again. He was looking as if to say, "don't you smell the rain pup?" Rat bastard is always picking on me.

Some of us are happy to have less bling along with less or no debt.
I know kind of anti-american, but....

Same boat.

Because of all the rain I need to trim the 25 foot bush between us and the neighbors. The Landscapers are hearing complaints and they usually trim in July but this will be the second cut for me and I will do the backyard for the 4th of July BBQ. 2 days of busting my ass ahead~!

So when I started trimming I found that what I had cut off the back of the bushes already grew from all the rain so when I went to cut our side the schoolyard side was higher. So into the schoolyard with the extension ladder and I went to town. Started using lopping shears for some of the thick branches and wound up with the Sawzall because some of that shit was 4 inch branches. Should be good for a while now. Broke my ass for over 8 hours straight and only ate a bagel all day. Too freaking hot to think about food. Cut tomorrow before the storms come thru. Had a nice Calamari Marinara over Linguini with a House Salad for dinner. Couple of glasses of wine and relaxing now while the sprinklers are running.

I mowed. yesterday I sprayed the creeping Charley. sadly, todays rain washed that off. I need many days of no rain for the killer to work.

my garden is doing really well. should have maters in a few weeks.

I sprayed the creeping Charley.

The stuff I use as long as it dries before it rains you don't have to worry. This is what I use

Creeping Charlie is my Lawn Pet Peeve. I have spent years eradicating it but the landscapers blow the shit around so I find it around the edges all the time. One spot treatment and it dies off in less than a week. As long as it was dry before it rains it is done for.

It is a concentrate so you need to follow the directions I have made it a little stronger but not recommended. 2 gallons usually lasts the season but this year I am already on the second fill. All the rain and wind has spread all shit the landscapers bring in on their trucks. Sucks but you can't stop it. I spray on the neighbors weeds all the time when it get near the property line I do it. One neighbor saw me and said feel free to keep going as far as I like~!

I use the tank you mix the concentrate in. And Broadcast spreader for the Granulated stuff. That is the 4 Step Program from Scotts. Plus the other Scotts products for Diseases and Grubs.

Storming here today, multiple inches of rain and lots of thunder.
So I declared it bedding wash day :) And piddle in basement Mad Scientist electronics laboratory.

Yesterday was lawn mowing day mowed 3 places and mowed a 8 ft wide path around a 20 acre farm thru fields with grass and such as high as the Troybuilt Bronco. Many weeds taller. Need to sharpen the blades now I suspect.

Sharpened and balanced the rider blades.
More storms here this afternoon.
Kinda reminding me of Florida with the afternoon thunderstorms.

I really don't think that July has any positive aspects.

Go home, July. You're not good.
