0.17ohms is kind of pushing it with 15a batteries

You'd be much better off with 25amp to 30amp cells

V = I X R
I = V / R
R = V / I

R is resistance
V is voltage
I is current

You need to know current from the above

so take a fully charged battery 4.2 and divide it by the coil (0.17) ...24 amps

however this is a theoretical max, it’ll never actually be 24 amps, it’ll still be around 22amps to start with a go down as you vape

best to go with 25amp cells like 5150 said

Im using now 0.28 but it has really bad performance. It heat up really slowly ( im using sony vtc6 battery ) so I thought maybe if i use 0.17 it will increase the performance

It will.
If you get a better cell you will be in real good shape at 0.17ohms on a mech.

Absolutely not safe...you'll probably get away with it...but not recommended at all. I've driven home drunk from the bar many times and not crashed my car...but I know that if I continue to do it, someday my luck will run out LOL.

I've been waiting for someone else to say it, but I guess I'll state the obvious. If you don't understand ohms law, as proven by your question, why are you using a mech mod? Do you fully understand the risks?

Good for you for coming on here and asking the question, but it's probably the most basic you should know before firing a mech.

I also concur with the above battery recommendations, VT6'S are great in a regulated mod, not so much in mechs.

I realize I sound like an asshole here, but just don't want to hear about another vaper having a battery blow up on them because of negligence.

I have some P26a's, great 25A 18650 batteries.
If it fits 21700 then 30A Sansung 30T, or for more run time, 25A 40T, or 30A P42A which is probably the best choice.
You'll notice that the amp ratings differ from what the label says because they have been vape tested by Battery Mooch.

Use a regulated 150-200W 2-3 battery mod and you can run that coil as hot as you want.
VTC6's will work fine in the 2 cell regulated mod.
You will also have longer runtime and more consistent vape.

Yeah you loose some cool factor with the regulated mod but vape better and safer.

Download vapetool to your phone. It's a handy little app for coils and calculating amps and such.
