cleaning drip tips ?

I wipe them real good with CPAP mask cleaning wipes. It gets the buildup of easy. I drop them in a cup of hot water from my Kuerig coffee maker along with a disassembled tank at intervals for real cleaning between rebuilds. I run a twisted paper towel through the hole in the drip tip before and after going into the hot water.

I have one that I use 25hrs a week. looked at it yesterday, it had a white crust on it :blech:. so I don't think just rinsing it would work.
and I would rather not clean each one by hand.

but, I may have come up with something easy and thorough . this net thingy I came up with. put em in there, then in the dishwasher.

how do you folks do it ?

If they are really cruddy, soak for a few minutes in vodka or everclear, then ream with a qtip down the center

If you rinse with water every few days, or once a week, they will not get crud built up

Definitely clean the DT as part of attie cleaning when you rewick

I clean my drip tips constantly with a paper towel or tissue and when I change a coil the whole assembly gets a hot water soak. Unless I am in a hurry than a quick hot water rinse and dry.

I just use warm water and dawn, a soft bristled toothbrush when I'm cleaning my atomizer. Sometimes I'll use a damp qtip to get the inside or a damp papertowel on the outside. Only takes a minute.

I load up a handful into the ultrasonic cleaner and run them for a couple cycles. Wipe them down with a paper towel when they come out and they are good to go.

this is it. in the is a Glaz v2, I then added a Reload. the Glaz had dirty coils in it, the ends came out like new. next time I will fire the coils.
the netting, its from one of those poofy things girls use to wash in the bath/shower. just cut it open and take what you need.

until you try it for yourself, you do not know just how well this works.

Hot water soak, Qtips or pipe cleaners for the inside. :)

If I'm in a hurry, sometimes I'll use alcohol wipes to get the gunk off then a quick rinse under the tap. ;)

That's a very cool idea. Just be careful putting acrylic, resin, or any kind of custom made plastic drip tip in the dishwasher. If you use as hot of water as I do, you could crack or melt them. Also, the extreme exposure to very hot water can loosen the glue on tips with a metal core. ;)

I thought that also. but I "think' that mesh would be the first to go. and it is holding up just fine. time will tell. and it didn't bother the DT's that I put in there.

I always have Q-Tips around for this kind of thing when I feel the need to do it. I spray a bit of alcohol on one and run it through the DT. Let it dry thoroughly for a few minutes so it all evaporates, put it back on and enjoy. It's been working for me for both plastic and metal DT's for years now.
