admittedly it has been a long while since i looked into squonking.
last time it was not a good experience back in the carlos juicebox days.
i did some window shopping and want to get a best suggested combo from those who BF more frequently.
i am leaning towards a topside dual and maybe a profile but i am willing to get others.
what i know i like is regulated but not dna250 pricing. i prefer flavor then clouds
Agree or disagree suggest others budget just dont break a poor mans wallet.

A lot of folks seem very happy with the Topside mods. I've a Basium that is OK, and picked up an SXK Box[er] Squonk that is very comfortable, (and I believe both can be revived with a PWM board if they die). Both use standard silicone bottles.

The DS/TS-style mechanicals are also quite popular, (Zombie Apocalypse preparations). Neither uses std silicone bottles, but I adapted my DS-style to use one.

The Reload-S clone I have is quite nice - can be considered TOP air (intake) to side-airflow (output). Single coil.
I'd like to get my hands on an Asmodus ".Blank" (point-blank) for similar reasons.

Get a silicone refill-bottle: all you need to do is unthread atty, thread on bottle, and suck juice back into the mod - takes about 30-60 seconds.

I didn't get along with the Profile RDA

Are you okay with clones? For flavour as you have said, any of the haku clones will do well for single coil. They can fit chunky builds. Generally won't clamp thinner than 26awg.

I think most people are having a Love-It-or-Hate-It relationship with the Profile. No in-between. I don't have one and don't plan to buy one. Sounds too finicky for me.

There sure seem to be a lot of people who enjoy their Topside squonkers. I am not lucky enough to have one (yet). The best regulated squonker I have is a Desire Cut. Really have found that I get along with mechanical squonkers better than I expected.

Best RSAs I have are all single coil, restricted DL. Reload S clone is nice enough, but to me the Asmodus C4 blows past it like it's standing still. O-Atty V2 clones are really super nice if you can find them, and Wotofo's Elder Dragon is readily available at a super price these days. Odd looking, though, so you may just hate the looks of it, or you may not.

To me, the RSA's need to be as leak-proof as possible. Top/high-air.

I don't care for tanks that pee on my mods, and I don't care to be driving along and discover a squonk has covered the mod and my hand with ejuice, either.

profile gives you options to run on single or dual batt mod so there’s that...but mesh can be a pain in the ass if not set up right (burnt hit from hell)

The topside has had lots of good feedback so far in the forum for a mod, not seen much in the way of bad feedback yet ...plan to buy one myself

Atty wise so many good ones to choose from there’s a really level playing field these days...personally I love the recurves (single or dual) and elder dragon ....they are my go to budgets out of everything at the moment

The C4 is one you have to actually work hard to over-squonk it. There's a video that shows that, but dang if I can remember whose video it is.

Actually, I remember where I saw it. Hang on.

I tend to over squonk, the first Profile I bought had the Frosted Black Translucent cap. You can see the liquid fill and hold it just below the air holes to saturate the wick before it sucks back down.

Another for the topside. IMO, no need for the dual unless you plan on a dual coil rsa, 21700 good battery life and plenty of power for any single coil.
The profile is just one those, you never know till you try, it has put all my coilers on a shelf.

I can't comment on a mod you would be interested in as I only use mechs. But for an RDA (single coils, indoor use duals) the haku venna is flavorful and leak resistant (the clones are fine and budget friendly), and the recurve packs good flavor and is hard to over squonk as well. If you are looking for compact with strong flavor, the GR1 is nice and is hard to leak as long as you use the small airflow inserts.

Second this, for me anyway, a single 2x700 is fine for a single-coil atty, as long as the mod doesn't have flashing lights and other hoo-hah that drain the battery fast.

Skyfall clones are also good. Single coil, AFC inserts for mtl and dtl

I have been curious about the Skyfall myself. Experience with afc inserts in the GR1 wasn't the best, though, so I haven't pulled the trigger on the Skyfall.

thanks everyone who weighted in and i will research the recommendations for sure. clones are indeed ok in my book 1:1 that is anyway.
i am leaning towards the profile for the surface area mainly and while it seems some dont like it i think i might. I am after an easy to build and wick situation that a dripper and driving just can not do safely.

Topside is a decent mod for the money. The single battery lasts me all day just below 30 watts. I don't need dual battery, but if your a high wattage guy, try the dual. Doubt you'll be disappointed. Gotta love the huge juice bottle too.

while i wait for the budget for a dual topside i picked up a profile . currently running as an RDA with ofrf mesh for now i used the included shoe lace cotton using a combo of grimm greens tips and Vaping with vics tips on wicking and using the extra springs under the ceramic deck. so far i am in the loving it camp. i think it will be wonderful once it is on the topside. in the meantime i will tame it in RDA

I will throw this out there but there were a few of us that had issues with the Topside /profile combo. The bend in the feed tube restricts the flow of juice to the cotton and made for a lot of dry hit. The profiles worked a lot better for me on other squonks such as the Desire Cut squonk.

I've noticed (foremost) that squonking atties really, really vary in their damned 510 holes.. Some are impossibly narrow, and others are fat & happy.. It's a damned crapshoot.

Pull the trigger. I'm loving mine. Flavor is very good and easy build. It looks hard to over squonk but i'm using as a dripper. I have the coppervape but oos now. This one is still in stock.

I highly recommend the OFRF Nexmesh and I have had no problem with either the single or dual Topside.

You squeeze harder and longer, you can still do that right? I know you're getting old and broken like the rest of us...:D
There is a difference, I grab a therion and flood it....just have to be mindful of it.

the one thing i found about the profile is the wicking is different for sqounking vs dripping Grimm Video is best for squonk. Vic has one for dipping.

I love Grimm but he is cutting his cotton wrong....If you are determined to cut on an angle for the rda, cut the angle with the longer part away from the coil. and bring the top part down over the bottom. I just trim the cotton to extend beyond the edge of the rda. then spit the cotton in half horizontally, raise the upper half and trim the lower close to the mesh. Drop the top part and trim and tuck...ez pz... works for both squonking and dripping. Grimm has a fear of mesh, he had the same problem with the RTA.

i think i saw a video that basically cut the bottom half near the plate out and used the top half in the deck without using an angle at all. next wicking i may try that

squonking a 6mm wick is interesting

hold the bottle pressed in, while you read a book page

dripping might be easier on this one?
there is a wicking change to squonk similar to the pic aj posted you use a combo of the squeeze and capillary action

The unity is my favorite rta hands down. Got 3 running and ready to go. Great flavor from the mesh. 5ml tank. Can't go wrong
Great flavor for sure, and not hard to wick. Just different.

Somewhere along the way you owe it to yourself to try a 4mm single hung just above the ceramic base in the Profile

Did you ever give it another go DogMan?
When it's wicked well the slightest touch off the bottle sends a sheen of juice across the mesh. Only the topside needs a firmer, and longer squeeze to do the same. Leave the 6mm cotton in the box.

Hope this clear enough...View attachment 139798
yep that was exactly the way i saw... decided to rewick with cotton threads took 6 but came out great... now just waiting for my topside... now i can use the well better to determine juice needs vs taste which was slowly singeing the cotton.

edit: also had an 810 to 510 drip tip adapter and using an old universal helps boost flavor and warmth without closing air flow and get you just a hair closer to the mesh. i am in heaven
