Same here, Crom. And they start again in September.
Hope the power stays on tonight, it sure looks rough in your area.I guess the weather fucker-uppers decided it will go more northerly than they thought yesterday. I am trying to use The Force and hold it off with a mental shield (sometimes it does work, believe it or not) and make the worst of it slide by us to the south. I don't mind a snow shower, but this blizzard shit is just too much. Both Lannie and I (and most of the animals) are on the edge of going crazy with this insane weather. It is damn well time for SPRING now (right fucking now!!!).
A funny thing happened on the way to the forum...Hope the power stays on tonight, it sure looks rough in your area.
Rich...I could see that spot on radar too, although I was looking at older doppler this evening. I said to myself, damn, it looks like a hole, or it's snowing like a SOB over love acreas. I guess it was the hole.A funny thing happened on the way to the forum...
This morning, after Lannie rolled my ass out of bed, she said she had been checking the computer weather and the RADAR picture showed it was snowing all around us, but there seemed to be a hole right over the top of us. The wind picked up here shortly after noon, but no snow until about 3 PM (horizontal snow) and now, as of 8:30 PM, it seems to have stopped. The wind is still going, but the only white shit in that wind is what it is picking up off the ground and redistributing (as nasty drifts). Now maybe that will change after I go to bed, but at the moment, the blizzard that was supposed to be happening all day and until tomorrow morning only lasted 5 hours.
We do have something very unusual, however. There is a strange truck driver sleeping on my couch. He pulled up during the meanest portion of the snow and wind and stopped just outside our place because he could no longer see the highway. Tomorrow morning, I hope we can see him on his way without the need for tow trucks.
Hey, didn't I tell you I was putting up a shield? Why else would it be snowing all the way around us but not ON us? And it took 8 hours to finally break through. I was just upstairs to check on it and the snow is still stopped, but the weather guys say it is still going on and won't stop until 7 AM tomorrow. My Mojo is strong.Rich...I could see that spot on radar too, although I was looking at older doppler this evening. I think they used to call it "mind over matter"....not sure if they still call it that tho......Hey, didn't I tell you I was putting up a shield? At least it seem to have been caught early.Stokes Healthcare Inc. Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Pilocarpine 0.1% Ophthalmic Solution Due to a High Level of Preservative
Stokes Healthcare Inc. is voluntarily recalling 1 lot of 81 units of Pilocarpine 0.1% Ophthalmic Solution, to the consumer and veterinarian office levels. The ophthalmic solution has been found to contain a higher level of the preservative benzalkonium chloride than is typical.
I'm sure they still do, although no doubt there are a bunch of other descriptions too. I don't even try most of the time because it uses a great deal of energy to focus, build the [mental] shields, etc., so I only try this if the potential storm might be life-threatening. Given all the other problems here at the moment, I perceived this one to be a large threat and put my heart into it. It seems to have worked... OR... or I'm just another one of those freakin' wackos.I think they used to call it "mind over matter"....not sure if they still call it that tho......
Probably just a mishaps while someone was drinking or high on the job....that compounding is tough work.Stokes Healthcare Inc. Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Pilocarpine 0.1% Ophthalmic Solution Due to a High Level of Preservative

Doesn't the SIL collect SS?Umm because I am married to her sister and it is not ALL my money. Wife unit draws decent SS as well.
And maybe I am a bit stupit? And not as mean as I should be?
She collects minimal SS as in SS disability.Doesn't the SIL collect SS?
Damn, your not the frugal vapist? you claim.......
Perhaps frugal buying vape stuff, but anything else is a Go.......
True.... SS disability ain't jackshit....well it's good you helped out. Nothing worse than a toof-ache....She collects minimal SS as in SS disability.
Never paid in a lot as she could not properly hold down a regular job and did freelance work mostly.
My needs are small and I have the vape stuff I want now.
I was a vape seeker but have found my way now
Aside from a couple of white Squeezes I have felt no urge to buy any vape stuff this year.
Keep watching Todd and some review vape stuff and nothing yanks my chain.
Just satisfied with what I have.
As I said last night, the snow stopped earlier than the forecast implied, but the wind didn't. I cannot even tell you how much snow we got (5"? 8"? 12"?) because with the wind doing 40mph gusting to about 60 yesterday, any snow that fell over our property didn't touch ground until Nebraska. There are, however, some new 10-12-foot high drifts that probably fell in North Dakota and landed in my yard. That truck driver fella who slept on our couch last night left after coffee this morning (it was not snowing, but we still had 35-40 mph wind) and his boss called me 10 minutes later to tell me he was stuck and would I let him come back here for a few hours. He only made it 1/2 miles down the highway before he ran into a 5-foot high drift that went all the way across the highway, so he had to back up his rig to our driveway. We put boots on his feet and dragged him out to the barns to help with morning chores, then fed him breakfast and BS'd until we finally saw a snow plow coming down the road. He managed to get out then - or at least we never heard from him again. Nice guy. I do not know how he spells his name (Juvie?) but it was pronounced Who-Vee. Anyway, the wind never died down today, so I couldn't use bob to clear out the drifts. There was absolutely no indication that I had ever made any paths to the barns, but to clear them in this wind would be wasted effort. Hopefully the wind will be lighter tomorrow.Looking good, Rich....!
I see you made it out alive.......
SSD is still based on your prior contribution, so if you had a high wage before becoming disabled, the pay will be higher (equivalent to what you would make if it were regular retirement). I was designated 100% disabled 19 years ago and collected the same pay "as if" I was retiring.SS disability ain't jackshit
That's interesting. I was under the impression the rate was lower for disability, although I never really looked. Good to hear your getting your fair share, before all the money's GONE......SSD is still based on your prior contribution, so if you had a high wage before becoming disabled, the pay will be higher (equivalent to what you would make if it were regular retirement). Damn, what a living nightmare. Glad it's over with. Hopefully till next year too....!As I said last night, the snow stopped earlier than the forecast implied, but the wind didn't. Define "fair share." Had I (or you or anyone else with a modicum of common sense) been allowed to invest the money that the government confiscated from us over all those years instead of allowing them to stick it in the general fund and use it stupidly, I would have a nest egg valued at over a million dollars and would be paying myself a lot more than the monthly stipend the Feds dole out. That's interesting. Like I said, before the money is GONE....consider yourself LUCKY...!Define "fair share." Well off to a funeral tomorrow. Same funeral I went to last Saturday.
Wow, two funerals, same dead person? Lucky Cromwell...
yep it is sometimes morbid to listen to ones spouse and go when there is no funeral and then go again when there is.That's one I don't get - can see holding two services under a few circumstances, but going twice seems morbid
yep it is sometimes morbid to listen to ones spouse and go when there is no funeral and then go again when there is.
And this is not the first time it has been done to me.
And another time we went to the wrong town/funeral home.
Yup....hows is going Rich...Don...?Funny, all these posts and I didn't get a single e-mail alert. Anyone still here?
All the normally dry creeks washes are running water here too.....haven't seen that in ages. Not bad. Tired. We went to our land in East Texas for a few days. Since our son was away at Sea Base we let our daughter bring a friend. Rained on the day we got there but decent weather the rest of the week. Lot of water in the creek so we got in a good creek walk. Sadly we had to come home. We like it there. we mostly disconnect and do family things.
There was a lot more water than we are used to seeing. When we go out in August it'll likely be mostly dry again. All the normally dry creeks washes are running water here too.....haven't seen that in ages.
