Zeus X RTA

After seeing a few board members ( gsmit1 and I think VapeFan) mention the Zeus X I thought I'd look into for myself. I am a big fan of the single coil Zeus ( easily my favorite TAF rta ) but did not try the dual coil version so this short stocky lil guy peaked my interest. Especially since I've recently gotten into dual coil postless deck rtas.

I was going to download some images but my tablet is getting full. ::giggle:

Anyway. Thought it would be fun to discuss the Zeus X and post video reviews as they come out.

@gsmit1 sorry for summoning you but I had seen you ordered one and that inspired me to make this. So, your thoughts good sir? :D

I got mine for 23 dollars and change after shipping which was a big motivator. I saved 10 or 13 bucks ordering it now, though gunmetal was the only color available now, but I don't really care THAT much about colors. If I have a choice I'll pick the color I want, but I won't not order something if the price is right just because they don't have my color. I like gunmetal anyway.

All bets are off on orders from China these days though as I'm still waiting for one from December. Hopefully the Zeus X gets here before I'm eligible for social security. From looking it over, I think it's well designed and should be great for a top airflow rta. I hope I'm right. If it weren't that cheap, I wouldn't have ordered it now.

It's the last of the Zeus series so I hope it's the best for flavor. Not many have air flow going into the top of the concave chamber like this one. I know some do but we don't see it often so I'm wondering how that's going to be. I'd like see shorter post holes, as it is we'll have to have long legs or suspend the coils while tightening.

Even though it's a postless deck, it is a bit more forgiving with the suspended deck. Very interesting

Oh man, say it isn't so. Did not know this was the last of the Zeus series. Might have to pick up another single coil Zeus as well as the dual coil and this one. How did you find out this was the last?

I was so close to snagging one of these earlier tonight. Had it in the cart but I just couldn't do it. Not even for $18. Really don't like how the bell cap doesnt screw down over the deck. Definately want to see more.

Oh shoot!

I didn't even see this or I wouldn't have started the other one.
Lol, it's OK. This isn't that other forum where thread Nazi's threaten you for not using the search first. :giggle:

We can have an admin combine the two to avoid confusion. :)

I'm mighty fond of the single-coil Zeus. Did get one dual, built it and gave it to my son, but it was nice too.

Upsetting to hear no more Zeus RTAs after the X. So I guess at that point it's take-it-or-leave-it on the X, after we've bought up all the OGs. There can't be that many more around; the single is already hard to find.

OBS Engine Nano is quite nice, and easier to build than the Zeus. I'll live. :) Just have to carry spare juice for refills. Rats.

For anyone interested Efun has the Zeus X on sale again for $17.19.
That's where I ordered mine from. (along with another Lotus which was also dirt cheap)

I figure if I ever see it, it should be just in time to celebrate the U.S. tricentennial.

Rixsta has his and pretty pleased with it using dual coils, said he believes that it would perform well with a large single coil build as well.
I might be kidding myself, but I'd like to think at least that I'm getting to the point where I can visually analyze an atomizer and make a pretty close guess as to whether it will do what I want or not. This one looked like a winner so I took a hopefully wise chance on it for 18 bucks.

Just commenting someone had the X and liked.

Oh no, I'm sorry Letitia9.

I must have come off wrong. I was just giving my rationale behind ordering one. I intended no critique or criticism of what you said at all. For some reason, your comment reminded me.

It piqued my interest and i took a chance on it because efun had it for 18 bucks for some introductory offer thing.

It wasn't that I thought they were bad, but I wasn't really drawn to the first two.

Umm idk what this is but it is not the Zeus x that I've seen. No knurling at all, different deck and different airflow

This throws some light on your post in the hand check thread. Yeah, that's the original dual. I'm sure it won't help, but I can imagine a tired warehouse packer (having been one myself years ago) making a mistake like this. Especially if they aren't really into hobbyist vaping, which is probably not a requirement for that job. Glad they are taking care of it for you.

What made you want to try the X? I was never really interested in the first two, but also have an X one the way. We seem to be having similar experiences.
Part of me was just looking for a black rta to match my finder lol. It just sits right now. I've heard good things about the Zeus line so I figured I'd try this one. I just like the looks, more capacity (bubble glass) and the build deck looks bigger.

Really I just want a black rta that will fit my coils and has a good amount of airflow.

The slow boat needs to hurry up so I can read some genuine feedback about the X from VU members. Still on the fence but remain interested due to the fact that the original Zeus is still my favorite top airflow single coil rta. Row row row that damn boat! :giggle:

Mine is still in china. Shipped the 25th of last month.
The last update for my Lotus was the 27th so I'm guessing it's somewhere on the pacific oceanic or possibly sitting on the west coast in a container that has yet to be unloaded.

I was going to order the Tauren rta but the only place I can find it is China so I'll wait and hope a US warehouse gets some in at some point.

I picked up a Zeus x from a local shop, and am pretty happy with it. I don't have as much experience with rtas as some, but I like the more compact size. I never used juice control on my Rimfire, so I kinda like that it's one less thing I'll accidentally change. I've got it atop an aegis 26650 as my work setup (carpenter), and it's a great compact rig to throw in my tool bags. I really like the small drip tip, and shape of it. It makes it much easier to blow out the work debris lol

That will definitely be the shortest drip tip I've ever used. I'm not sure what I'll think.

It comes with two. The second one is a taller, more "standard" tip. It's kind of translucent yellow (delrin?) one, but it has a taller, more traditional shape.
The yellow one is ULTEM. I'm going to try the short one. The one on the Profile grew on me. It's not that short though.

They do have a different interior shape than any other tips I've used, though. They're more just a funnel inside, instead of having the little lip inside like I'm used to seeing

I have yet to run a side-by-side comparison with same coils, but I'm really digging the flavor on the X. It's different than my Rimfire, but I can't say better per se, kind of deeper if that makes sense

166F62AC-4594-4F86-B41C-38C89DDF4B16.jpeg 80F02690-5C70-40FA-804F-FAFAF67A0EE8.jpeg I built a stainless steel version of the Zues X using dual ss 316L 28g single spaced wire with a 3mm id at 4.4 ohms. I’m using the optional included ultem drip tip. Also wicked with rayon - thinned and fluffed tails long enough to just tuck into channels.

I’m not a huge fan of RTAs especially dual coil ones. I am a happy camper with the Zues single not as crazy about the dual Zeus though. I use a bottom or side airflow RDA or RDTA 90% of the time for the outstanding flavor.

That being said, I find the flavor and vape density is very good. My 1st tank is a DIY Milk Mustard and it’s hitting all the notes pretty much spot on with the airflow at half way to 1/3 open. I’m at 41 watts on a Revenger X using Power Mode.

DJLs said flavor was JUST AS GOOD with a single coil with an id of 4.0 to 4.5 with wicks thinned to fit into wicking channels sufficiently enough.

I enjoy a warm vape with anything from LOTS of air to restricted airflow. This atty has LOTS of af wide open. Closed down to about a 1:4 it gives a somewhat restrictive draw. Using a 510 would limit it even more for people prefer a “tighter” draw. This is right up my alley. It won’t be for people who like very rl hits.

I had no problems with the bottom o ring when taking it apart to wash or when building. It’s been mentioned as popping off easily.

The quality is typical Geekvape and excellent. Geekvape is making me become a RTA lover.

Wish I had thought to take build pics but the tank is almost empty I’ll take some before I refill it.

Edit: after being disappointed with the loss of upper note flavors such as grape and lemon I raised the coils as far up as I could. The improvement in flavor was significant especially at those upper flavor notes.

I raised the coils up more from what is show in pics but wicking is spot on. No dry hits or flooding the coil.
