Hello everyone. I'd love to create a thread here that puts together some deep DIY info that really helps everyone in the long run. This information seems to be spread out throughout various threads, recipes, and other stuff, but what really sparked this is @HeadInClouds pink bubble gum thread, so I figured we could all band together and treat each other with some good info. So I will start with a few things I have found from other places:

TFA Dragonfruit - has a high percentage of triethyl citrate which works really well as an emulsifier. Used in small percentages this can really help when you use things like CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl which tends to separate in a mix because it is derived from essential oil. It also complements apple really well and other similar flavors containing Ethyl Butrate and Isoamyl Acetate. That being said, FA Orange is derived from orange oil, so I'm assuming this would work similarly there as well.

I'll add more here as I come across things, any additions would be very welcome.

Here is another little note that I have used on occasion

TFA VANILLA SWIRL - contains a moderate amount of Gamma Nonalactone (found in bourbon whiskey) which in and of itself carries a coconut aroma and taste. While the vanillin and ethyl vanillin in this flavor mostly mask the coconut flavor, when used with coconut (which also contains a large amount of this compound) this will boost your coconut flavor and give you a great milky coconut. Most coconut flavors also contain acetoin, one of the main components in dairy flavors, these play REALLY nicely together.

You really do not need new threads just browse the DIY section because most of it is there. But no rule against starting threads if you like. Have fun and vape on~!
I have browsed the threads for hours on end. It is a ton of "new to DIY what to order" , "steeping e-liquid", and stuff like that. Just trying to get some information all in one place that can help me and everyone else.

Think this thread has lots of potential

FW HAZELNUT - Flavor West and most other hazelnut flavors are comprised mostly of 3 ingredients. vanillin, ethyl maltol, and benzyl alcohol, the latter being used as a flavor enhancer. I have found FW Hazelnut (thanks @wildgypsy70) to be the perfect ingredient to round out milks, when used in small doses. Not only does the benzyl alcohol in the mix enhance the flavor of the milk, but the vanillin fills in the gaps, and the ethyl maltol helps to inherently sweeten the other ingredients without muting their intended flavors. I have also found FW Hazelnut to be a great ingredient in the use of boosting peanut butters, especially TFA PB, as well as an excellent addition to ice creams for many of the same reasons. Use this flavor in bakeries and nutty flavors that need a boost and to smooth out and fill the gaps in dairies and other creams.

This is great. Wonder if works a bit like oak milk and adds some depth.

Nice idea for a thread!

I included the statement above only because I think it needs a caveat - 'used in small doses' ... otherwise, in my experience, it will cause muting if used too heavily.
There is ethyl maltol in the FW Hazelnut, I'm not talking about adding additional ethyl maltol, that will definitely mute flavors in larger doses.

Right, I get that. I was just thinking someone new to DIY reading that might get the wrong impression but perhaps I am just being overly analytical.

I added it. I guess I should be a little more specific when I'm putting stuff in there because at a higher percentage all you will get out of this is Hazelnut, not really the effect that I'm describing.

BUMP. Let's get some more information in here guys. Anything from nuances you discovered in mixing, some deeper information about flavors, some little tricks you might do like adding a drop of saline in X mix to bring out the flavors. Whatever.

WF Brazilian Coffee - this is speculation, but besides being a wonderful coffee flavor, this flavor is speculated to contain TRIACETIN, an emulsifier, that smooths out the rougher edges of this and other coffee flavors. It is the main ingredient in things like TFA Smooth or FA MTS Wizard. Many people find that coffee concentrates in general taste burnt, I believe this was WF way of eliminating that issue. I have noticed when mixed with creams, especially Ice Cream, this flavor tends to mute the buttery, creamy, notes of ice creams and other creams. Be conscious of this when pairing as the final result may be much different than expected.

Thanks, Arden. This is a great idea, imho. Even though I’m just starting out buying flavors, this will really be helpful.

No clue if it has been posted yet, but, if you find your mix to be a little harsh, sometimes a few drops of either white vinegar or apple cider vinegar can take that harsh out. White for the fruits and Apple for the darker mixes like tobaccos. I normally use 1 drop for every 10ml's

Ha I just realized this is the first page, so nope guess it hasn't been posted :) Great idea for a thread @88ArDeN88

To be completely honest, I planned on posting more of this stuff or taking things I found in research from other places and adding it here and have had about 0 time to do it. Please feel free to add anything and everything you think would be helpful.
