Hi! I have a friend here who makes my "mom and pop Vapor Shop" ADV..called "OMG" from the flavor concentrate they sell..and she told me which scale she uses..and I can buy the concentrate, and have some bottles that I can mix right into..but..
-I'm wondering if all VG and PG are the same?
-Do all brands taste/look/act the same?
-Is food grade ok..or do I need pharmaceutical grade to be safe?
-I have the scale and vp & pg (1 quart/ea=$19..food grade) in my cart, to order from Amazon Prime..but wanted to clarify these questions 1st.

Thanks for any help you can give! Dez

Also, the prices sound high:

This is fine: Propylene Glycol - Food Grade USP - 1 Quart (32 Oz.)

Glycerin Vegetable - 1 Quart (43 oz.) - Non GMO - Sustainable Palm Based - USP - KOSHER - PURE - Pharmaceutical Grade

For both that would be a good deal if they are food or Pharma grade :)

I get it by the gallon these days - and Amazon Prime is the only way to fly on that
Yes they are food grade..but they r only 16oz each. Doesn't say palm derived either.
Edit: On the duo that was $19 for 1 qt of each.

The VG does say Palm derived, but not eager to split hairs today, lol

You can use food or pharmaceutical grade PG/VG

Palm-based VG is usually considered better than soy (some complain of problems with soy)
Is all VG made from soy unless it says it is Palm based? Do I need to look for some that specifies it is from Palm? Thank you @JuicyLucy !

Oh no, I was talking about the ones that I had found on Amazon not saying that they were Palm derived, not the links that you gave me. The ones I found (edit;) in the duo , that I found on Amazon , did not say they were Palm derived. I should have specified between the duo that I found for $19 and the links that you supplied . The ones you supplied are the ones I'm going to buy . Sorry for the confusion!

Were you able to clear up the size discrepancy?

I didn't notice it until you pointed it out

Yes. I think it was just a typo and should have said 32 oz because the rest of them that are one quart say they are 32 oz. Is there anything else I need to know about buying VG or PG?

@wildgypsy70 , Do I need anything to measure the concentrate with, like a syringe..? since I am ordering the same scale that you use?
(Do you think that you could help me figure out the scale when I get it?)
I'm getting ready to place my Amazon & OMG flavor concentrate orders.. after I hear back. Let me know please.
PS. How much concentrate should I buy, so that I can make (4) 120ml bottles?
(I believe this last time you said you used 25% ..plus I added 20 drops to that.)

Thank you both! Dez

One 120 bottle should do it.....but I would get two, just to be safe.

What I would do with the pg/vg is get some squeeze bottles. Like what diners use for ketchup, mustard, etc.....then you won’t need syringes. You can probably get them at Amazon, too.

Yes, I can walk you through using the scale.:)

Tip about syringes, if you live near any kind of feed store for animals,, they sell lots of syringes in lots of sizes and often in a fitted case/tube thing, around here they run $0.25-$1.00

And some like tractor supply sell vg food grade (because cows are hard to feed meds!)

Because I make 500mls at a time I value my 30+ml turkey syringe,, my husband took it to do something on his truck,, when he came back in the house I ran him off to the store to buy me a new one

What do you mean "1 120ml bottle will do it" ? Will do what?

I have to order a couple more 4oz bullet bottles from nic river for the vg/pg, but am unsure how many little 10ml OMG flavor concentrate bottles to order.. so that I can make 4-5 120ml bottles of eJuice?

Do I need syringes to measure anything.. using the scale you have (& that I'm getting)?

(You can pm me if you like, when you get a minute and then I'll place my orders.) Thanks again for all of your help and time!

I cannot recommend this seller enough for bottles.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/a-1distributing?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754

I would recommend getting extra bottles since you are going to get hooked on mixing and will want to make a few more than 3-4.

If you are looking for the best (IMO) you can get Nic and VG/PG from nude nicotine. Since I have tried them, switched to them fully and have had 0 problems. Its easy and convenient to have a single source (IMO).

Scales are going to make your life so much easier and loads of folks around here use them so you should have no problems getting that down.

Thanks! I really am a strawberry fanatic and have been vaping the same flavor for several years (and just cannot find anything that is as good as this), and the company I used to buy it from sells the flavor concentrate, so I probably won't need many extra bottles.. because I only intend on making the same 1 flavor from the Flavor concentrate.
Edit, I just checked them out and it looks like they only sell gorilla style bottles or unicorn bottles.
I'm really loving the "bullet" bottles I got from nicotine River, if you ever check them out, the bullet bottles are awesome because the entire top twist off so that you can mix right into the big opening of the bottle, and also when you put the top of the bottle back on the tip will twist open and twist closed, so that you don't have to deal with putting the lid on and off and all of that and they are about $0.50 each.

check out the flavor venders for bottles-there are several , nicotineriver,,,com most expensive bottle =$1..

Never buy in bulk until you are sure you like the product. I bought a few cases of 30ml Amber bottles,, it took awhile to give those away. 30mls is what I vape a day,, , turns out I only needed 1 30ml for Nic in use. I have quite a few 60+gorilla bottles I got free with other product orders,,, but my fav bottle came with ejuice that I hated. My point,,, go slow there is no unicorn :)

I'm glad you like them. For the longest time, I looked at them and they didn't look my style. But it's easy to refill smaller bottles from them.

I got my bottles for VG & PG at walmart. You can order condiment bottles online. But they can be found locally, if you're near a similar store. I use zero syringes or pipettes when I mix. Everyting gets dropped strait into the bottle, even little 10ml testers.

Just what you asked, make 4, 120ml bottles of your stuff.

For each 120ML bottle you want to make you need 30ML of flavoring (@25%). So that's like $20 if you buy it 10MLs at a time. For 120MLs of the concentrate it's $28. It's way more cost effective to get the big ones if that's all you want.

Yes, I plan mixing straight into the bottles also. I don't think that I should need syringes. My friend that has been making my juice from a flavor concentrate, told me what scale she EDIT: HAS, and I am buying it on Amazon and VG and PG with free Prime shipping. She makes my e-juice straight into the bottles & I believe I'm going to do the same thing.

HI! You mentioned that some people have problems with soy vg. What kind of problems?

Is all VG from soy- unless it states that it is palm-derived?

I'm just wondering what the best deal is on palm-based vg & pg.. (is all pg the same?), on Amazon Prime? I'd like to find the best deals on palm vg, & PG- in both quart & gallon sizes with Prime.

It's easier to store the quart size in my TEENSY TINY closet, but I'm open to gallon sizes too.
(I would just need to buy a funnel to be able to pour the vg & PG into the big bottles that I would pour from when mixing.)

Unless is says Palm derived, you don't know what it is from. Throwing the taste off badly is the complaint I see about Soy derived VG. I've never used it personally

I use Essential Depot VG which is palm based. You can buy it on Amazon and get it shipped with Prime.
amazon.com/Glycerin-Vegetable-Kosher-USP-Pharmaceutical/dp/B00PSGWHIO

Thanks! I actually have it in my cart on Amazon already! I'm just waiting to check out after I get some questions answered in a conversation on here, about everything that I will need so I can check out all at once. I do think I am going to get a collapsible funnel from Amazon , since our kitchen space is so nonexistent. -I wanted to get some disposable funnels, but they only sold them in larger quantities on Amazon. You know.. someone had actually recommended that brand of palm derived VG here yesterday.. LOL.
I see that it is sold on eBay also.

I am surprised that companies like nicotine River do not have Palm-derived VG. It's too bad because their prices are about half of what Amazon & eBay charge, but you would have to pay shipping with nicotine River, unless you went over $50, which I would not.

I do love my free shipping with Amazon Prime though!

Unless you're getting alot take advantage of your Prime membership. I get the big 2.5 gallon jugs from NR because it's so cheap. I always spend fidty bucks when getting it cuz that's alot of weight.

I thought that for the 1st try- I would use that brand that Amazon has got that a couple of people here have recommended.. Essential Depot.. in a quart size, for both the Palm derived VG, and the PG, and make sure I like it before I commit to a large size of another brand of palm derived VG.

But- I still have not completed my order with nicotine River yet, so I will check out the price for the 2.5 gallon and just see if I added the VG and PG, if it would put me over the shipping limit.

QUESTION FOR ANYONE ELSE HERE WHO USES NICOTINE RIVER PG & PALM-DERIVED VG:
What are your thoughts on it? Yay or nay.. when compared to other Palm-derived VG?

Also, since I have Prime, and very little storage space.. I thought the most I would get at once.. (in theory).. is a gallon of each, because I really have NO PLACE to STORE those big 2.5 gallon jugs- (unless it REALLY paid off, or tasted MUCH MUCH BETTER than what I am used to, or can get from Amazon.)

EDIT- okay, I am a little bit confused about purchasing vg & pg bases, and nicotine.
( I do not want nicotine salts.)

-I put 1 gallon of PG and 1 gallon of palm-derived VG into my cart with nicotine River.

I had always thought that you could buy the concentrated nicotine (like the vape Shops use), which comes in tiny little bottles, and they would add a few drops to your e-juice when you told them what you wanted made as far as a House Blend went.

But- with Nicotine River, it seems that you pick a base you want.. and the nicotine amount is mixed in it- I think..?

This confuses me.
I have enough in my cart to get free shipping, including: a few empty bottles, one gallon each of VG & PG, and the smallest amount available of 50/50 nicotine base- (150ml)- thinking that you would use the separate VG and PG, and then add a certain amount of the nicotine mixture, & flavor concentrate..??

Can someone please explain how, if you want to use sometimes but not all of the time, that you are to go about buying and using the liquids?

If you want to use nicotine in your e-juice, do you buy only the nicotine base, in the total quantity that would make up the total amount of your e-juice, (except for the flavor concentrate), and not buy any separate VG or PG?
-Would you only use the pre-mixed nicotine base liquid, and then add flavor? How do you know how much to buy of which bases, so that you can adjust the nicotine percentage in your e-juice.. or make e juice with no nicotine at all?

Can someone please explain?
Thank you!

Your post is a little confusing. Most of us use 100mg nicotine in either PG or VG base. We know how much to add by using a e liquid calculator. I get nic in PG. Its a thinner solution and blends into the mix easier.

Edit: I HAVE NEVER MIXED DIY BEFORE..AND REALLY NEED TO GET MY NICOTINE RIVER ORDER PLACED..

(I HAVE BUILT THE ORDER ALREADY..BUT DON'T WANT TO PAY UNTIL I KNOW IT IS CORRECT)..

SO PLEASE.. CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIGURE OUT IF THIS IS HOW TO MIX MY EJUICE?

BC I CAN'T PLACE THE ORDERS UNTIL SOMEONE TELLS ME THAT MY EXAMPLE BELOW IS CORRECT, (OR NOT)- PLEASE..

For my EXAMPLE..if you want to make; 100ml of ejuice, at 2% nic, and 25% flavor concentrate..(off of the top of my head)..

Is this right?-
You would start with 2mg (of 100mg/ml) nic mixture, (which is in a 50/50 vg/pg base.. since that's my normal mix, & I only plan on making my 1 ejuice for a long time),
And then, ADD 25mg of flavor concentrate..
(for a running total of 27mg of liquid in the bottle so far.)
Since 100ml minus 27ml=73ml left..
I would then ADD 73ml of 1/2 vg & 1/2 pg, to complete the ejuice.. RIGHT?

IF ANYONE CAN PLEASE ADVISE ASAP..?

-ALSO, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT WEBSITES/APPS/ ETC., OF HANDY DIY'er TOOLS TO HELP..that would be WONDERFUL!

Go to ELR and set up an account.

Go to “Create Recipe” on the top left(I think).

Give your recipe a name.

Enter all pertinent information. PG/VG/nic and how much you want to make.

Enter flavoring at what percentage you want.

Hit save. Your recipe will be there exactly as you entered it.

This is what you'd need for 100ml of your recipe. 25% flavor and 50/50 nic.
Screenshot_2019-01-28-15-38-55-1.png

I'd suggest getting your nic in PG base. 50/50 is less common and you might get old nic. PG nic sells faster and is repaced faster with fresh nic. That's just my theory. My first order was 50/50 from a different company. It was garbage. Pepper city, I didn't use it after tasting how crappy it was. Just a freindly little warning that may not even be warranted.

Thanks! I just (while I was waiting), downloaded the app and entered the recipe except for 120ml instead of 100mg..and fumbled my way through- guessed that where it asks "strength" that it means nic %, and it seems that that is what it meant..& it gave me exact recipe in ml. Hopefully I can get @wildgypsy70 on FB messenger , or on the phone , and she can help me with quick instructions on how to use the scale.

So.. I just placed my order with Amazon and with Nicotine River.

FYI - Nicotine River has a PROCESSING DELAY, so all orders being submitted right now, will not ship out for approximately 5-7 days.

I am bummed.. because also.. the e-juice that was made for me in a rush, as a favor, buy a friend on here - and mailed today.. is NOT expected to deliver until Thursday- even though it SHOULD ARRIVE WEDNESDAY.. per USPS, as it was shipped priority.
I am TOTALLY going to run out way BEFORE it gets here. BUMMER!!

Their whole opperation has been erratic since after Christmas. They skipped Black Friday and had one big sale. I think they'd be caught up by now though. Some people had no delays. Some had to wait a week for their order to go out. I waited 16 days for my order to go in the mail via ground. So it took a long time but eventually got here. I think the people who had to wait the longest (Durring that sale) were the ones who ordered Chemnovatic nic. They depleted all they had in a couple days and had to get more (or cut more down). I was just happy to get fresh clean nic. I know it's ridiculous, but when you do DIY a while, you know not to order from NR when you're in a hurry.

That's good to know, thanks for telling me about the wait time with them! I ordered that kind of nicotine from them, and I got it in PG 100%, as recommended.

I was surprised when I opened my email today though, because I just placed my order yesterday and the email said my order was shipping out already -even though they had originally said their processing time was 5-7 business days.
I guess I got lucky.
