Bonza V1.5 Help

Recently got a Bonza V1.5 and the first time I tried it I didn’t get a lot of flavor from it so I set it aside and tried it again tonight. I rewicked it using a bit more cotton and I push the coils up just a bit, while the flavor is better it’s still not quite where I think it should be. I’m comparing flavor to a Dead Rabbit rta so I know they’re different but the flavor is so much more present in the DR.

I'll said change your coils, but I figured something out about vaping in my 3yrs is really subjective. I stopped buying every new atty that came out like a year ago and stick to the ones I enjoy the most and it works my wallet love it and I can buy tons of juice and coils

I mainly bought the kit for the tube mech but figure everyone says the Bonza is a great rda and I figured it was worth giving a shot. I’ve only been vaping as a hobbyist for 7m so while I am totally happy with the way my 3 Dead Rabbit addy’s perform I feel I should explore a bit more. I’ll try swapping the coils out tomorrow and see if that helps, these come out to .43 which is right in my wheelhouse and I have used the wire in other rda’s with great success.

1. Install the coils.
2. Bring the coils out as close to the airflow as you can without hitting the barrel.
3. Dry burn the coils at a lower wattage. Make sure the coils are firing evenly from the middle out.
4. Set the height of the coils so the airflow is hitting the coils on the lower side almost the bottom of the coil around 5 o'clock.
5. Wick the coils. The wicking should have some resistance when pulling through the coil but not enough to move the coils.
6. Trim the coil so the tails just touch the deck.
7. Drip juice on the coils and lightly pulse. Repeat that until you can see the wick getting saturated.
8. Saturate the rest of the wick.
9. Fire the coils and check the vapor production.
10. Install the top cap.
11. Vape on it.

IN MY OPINION, you can get good flavor from any RDA if it's setup correctly with good coils and proper wicking.

I dont know that rda but just by looking at the wick...looks way to long...when i wick i make the tails barely touch the deck and i also comb the ends a bit, less cotton for the juice to absorb...but thats just me.

This is about what I was going to say. I don't have my 1.5 yet, but on the first version I always had the cotton touching the bottom of the well but no more than just a gentle bend toward the middle. You definitely want a wide space under the coil with no cotton in it.

I have a few really old pieces I bought for like 5 and six bucks in the clearance bin at the local shop and say, the Heracles RTA2 for instance is awesome. 6 bucks.

You're gonna get the flavor you're looking for outta that RDA.

Needed a little escape so I took a third shot at it and had some success! Flavor is way better and the stepped airflow really dialed it in. I tried this Cherry Lime Cola juice (as a tribute) and for the first time it wasn’t unbearably harsh so I’m calling it a win.

Next time try making the legs a little longer and pulling the coils a little higher with your jig. I say that because they look pretty low in relation to the airflow holes. Actually these might even be long enough to do that anyway. Maybe.

A couple other things just to consider. This atty loves twisted builds and claptons and if you use coils that narrow you MIGHT want to try just using the clamps to get them more centered which then would definitely mean longer legs and pulling them higher.

Just some thoughts for what they're worth. I'm thinking from the perspective of the first version Bonza, but the relevant aspects of the new one should apply I would think.

Ok, here's what it is. I'll bet money that this will bring the Bonza 1.5 to life for you and I'm seeing this with other atomoizers in my growing, but still comparatively small collection as well.

I got my Bonza mech tube kit today and of course that comes with this atty.

Leave a mm or maybe 2 between the center post and pull the coils up so that when you look in through the airflow holes you can see the bottom of them. Of course you can set this by putting the cap next to the deck too. This should also leave some breathing room between the airflow and the coils too. I think alot of folks are installing their coils too close to the airflow and too low in the deck at least some of the time with some attys.

I put some apple cider doughnut juice in this thing and there's an entirely different spiced element to this flavor that I never tasted before just now.

No exaggeration. Scrumpdilyicious.

When you get a chance, try that and let me know the result if you would please.

I got the Bonza running smooth a couple days ago and it’s giving off some awesome flavor! I put a .47 round wire build in it and it just took off and I just tried it on the Noisy Cricket and damn! Definitely gives the Dead Rabbits a run for their money. Thanks for all your help!

Saying the Bonza is better than the Dead Rabbit isn't saying much. Just about every RDA is better than the Dead Rabbit.

The Dead Rabbit has been my go to for the 8m I’ve been vaping.

Glad to hear it. :)
I was alternating between my Bonza and my stainless drop for quite a while there.

Sam the vaping Bogan says to drop the coils even with the top of the well edge I'm waiting on one I'll check back once it arrives.

Yeah I saw that, but it didn't work out that way for me. It's just a recommendation too. I can't imagine him saying anything other than:

"Hey, it that gives you the vape you want, I'm just glad you're enjoying it in any case."

Yes, please do tell us your experience with yours. :)

Sure looks killer.

Thanks. I like it a whole lot. With a 30T I don't need anything that might hit any harder. The switch is a bit crunchy for the first 10 or 15 pushes, which worried me at first, but it smooths out fine.

Do you have the first Bonza?

Does your button wiggle loose after a day of using it?

Not wiggle, but if I don't use a tool to tighten it down, I give it a super slight twist every so often to keep it tight. I don't want to crank down on the battery.

No i didn't like the clamp system on the first one I'm very mechanically inclined just didn't want to roll the dice on it.

Have you tried 1 less wrap on each coil? and after that try dropping it just a hair, I've found that every rda is different so i try different things to find the sweet spot for that particular rda based on what I'm doing, it's very subjective, you could also just try dropping the coil you have in there a little and add some more heat, just throwing some options out there

I also have the dead rabbit 3 actually, don't give up on it yet, it's funny i did the same thing with the dead rabbit at first I put it aside for about 3 months and ended up getting 2 more after playing around with different builds, height of the coil and distance between the airflow and the coils and such I now have two of these one with a 0.09 staged build in it and a .07 ss alien in the other

So on my bonza I have found that using an SS fused clapton was best for flavor. It heated up quick and really got cooking. I like my profiile rda much better, but I do still use my bonza for testing juice and coil setups and stuff. I also found using it in a single coil setup gave me better flavor, dual coil gave me better clouds. I don't like a hot vape so i rarely go over like 100w (and even that is high for me).
