I can't remember if he had a DS or a TS now.
definitely the ts :D its a great mod btw. i wanted one forever, but they were out of stock on the black ones for a while, or something else would get my attention/money first. all that waiting ended up working out for the best though, chef gave me a great deal on it, and its #00002, which feels way cooler than i thought it would :teehee:

looks like hell but its vaping great :D
A quick alien stag he says ... I've never even tried to stag. But, I'm also not super comfortable with decores. And I'm wretched at hand spacing. So I've been procrastinating it for some time now lol

Yah man ... get it!! You are making leaps and bounds in the creative department lately. And that stagger is cleeeeaaaan!
Thanks @WPMac !!! I usually get to a point where I start to run out of ideas that are commensurate with my ability and eventually I figure out something new that requires me to learn some new skill. I’ve had a number of ideas that I think I could pull off if I had Raymo clamps. I remember looking at them at one point when they were available and thinking that it wasn’t really necessary but the more I try to improve the more I realize how good of an idea they are lol.:giggle::headbang::drunk::zombie:

it looks/sounds/seems harder than it is. its just a bit longer of a build with all the parts (four total passes of decore and alien wrapping). the only new skill required is hand spacing the first pass. the rest is just like making a normal alien (with a slightly different angle on the second/fuse pass). i was convinced i would never be able to do it, but one day i got it in my head to try it out (it was megs fault <3) and i got close enough that it felt like i could maybe do it, and then i did. give it a try some day

great corrugated stagg @Shredtravolta  i remember a time when you thought you couldnt do that kinda shit

@gsmit1 nice use of wire ends and scraps

Hahaha thanks @mach1ne !!! I remember telling you way back when that I could never picture myself pulling off a good corrugated build. I suppose I have a bad habit of assuming that because I don't initially understand something that it's not something I can do. It took a few attempts to pull off a decent one to be honest. I had to learn what would work and what wouldn't. I said not to many posts ago that I wish I had bought some of the Raymo clamps when they were available. I originally saw them and wondered if they were really something I needed but now as I continue to improve I realize what a good idea they really were. I sure hope that Raymo comes back out with another run cause I'll be the first in line. Anyways thanks for the compliment on the build. I have a couple more corrugated ideas that I think might be cool but eventually I want to go back to the alien stagg, improve on that build, and then go onto some staggered builds that have given me problems and find some solutions.

I don't mind long builds. When I was first learning complex stuff I almost quit a number of times because I couldn't figure out how to progress. Then I had an epiphany one day that I just needed to slow down and take as long as I needed to get it right. My first successful SSFC took me like an hour to fuse. But I did it and I was ecstatic!! Since then I have no expectations about how long a build will take any time I sit down behind the drill.

I have every belief that I can and WILL ... eventually when I decide to grind it out ... do it. I just shy away from it because I'm a stagger-boy at heart. I don't have nearly as much fun using decores. And this is all for fun isn't it? :D

Did some building. 160 pairs of 5 different variations of coils. Now little time of off a drill deserved i think

im the same way, but my life is full of interruptions. its hard for me to switch between a really hard build, and constant msgs from work/room mate talking to me/buddies showing up etc...so i tend to wait until everyone is asleep...but thats another limit in itself (cant be loud, i should be asleep too etc). kind of a frustrating situation lol, so i tend to favor short builds that i can do in an hour or less (including installing/pics/posting here).

thats how i get through most of my first attempts too...i used to take an hour of make a pair of aliens :teehee: its pretty awesome finishing that build, getting a nice pic of it and then realizing that your pic/build is comparable to the pros or whichever builder you look up to

agreed on all points. you will get it when you try it, and it is all for fun (even if it hurts the whole entire time lol)

love it! mad scientist stuff lol

thats a lot of good work @The_hat_trix  how long does it take you to make one pair of aliens at this point?

I know that feeling. Little kids make it almost impossible to build anything to complex. And after they go to bed I spend a few mins with my wife. Then she goes to bed and if I want to build after that I have to take the station out to the kitchen table, where it is completely the wrong height for me. My daily building has dropped down to a couple times a week lately :(

My biggest problem, which I hope to find a solution to soon, is that I don't really have anyplace to build. (long story, but I rent a very small attic room.) I have to sit on my bed with an eyelet screwed into the side of a drawer and sit sideways with the wire across that space. Extremely uncomfortable and very hard to keep a good lead while claptoning.

ohms on this? :D
Oh it's all N80 and there is a bunch of ribbon wire that is actually underneath the staggered wraps, they ended up there by accident of course. I'd have to guess the single coil is about .08, which is fine for me, I tend to like it a little higher most of the time, my normal vapes are always unregulated and are usually around .11-.12. I sometimes make dual coils for others but I myself much prefer a single low resistance coil made all out of N80. Fraliens, SSFC variations, and 40g framed staples are my usual go to vapes. If I do something different it's just for the sake of doing it and if it doesn't ohm to low it sometimes ends up being a nice vape. If I was going to vape dual coils I'd probably make dual 5 core aliens.:D

A hybrid ... how do I explain in words ... multiple builds in 1 coil

Not a great success but a good example of a hybrid.

Sure, I know what ya mean. I was kinda joking because the inner wraps are closed and the outer wraps kinda opened up. It was a silly joke. Here’s a photo of an actual hybrid build I made68084BCD-298C-420B-823E-95C93C87151F.jpeg It’s very simple, no where as nice as yours, but I suppose it qualifies. Hybrid builds are something I should experiment a little more. My last couple posts have been lackluster. Overall I’ve just been trying to post more cause I love all you guys and I always wanna try to get a little mo betta. Btw your hybrid you posted might not have came out perfect but damn, interlocked enigmas WITH the stitch to micro Clapton aliens!?!?! Why don’t you actually try something challenging for once... JK!!:p:cheers:

I'm not usually a SS guy. But, what the hell lets give it a try. Plus I have yet to put a vapable build in the golem. So ... FOR SCIENCE!!
All SS316L, 8 ply .3, 28g, 38g, 3mm ID, 3mm ID, .09 ohm dual coil in the Golem.

Hi fellows builders.
I've tried last night my first parabolic. Kind of hard to me, due to my (lack of) skills. But at least a small piece (4,5 inches) looks nice and is enough to make one coil.

Need to improve in this kind of build. In the beginning the parabolic kept on escaping from his ribbon frames, and other few issues. But, just by building we can go figuring out what to make better, right?

That’s a really amazing build! Right now I’m stuck on one particular build I’m having trouble with, but after I get over that hump I’d like to try some more complex staggers and maybe some new hybrids.

Hi you guys? How you doing.

Need little help here :) (as always, lol)
I'm learning how to razorback. I did my first try yesterday and made a razorback mohawk with my decore , but still don't know cool things to do with razorback, in what to use, etc.

Suggestions, please? :)

@zephyr @WPMac @CrazyChef v2.0 @Shredtravolta @raymo2u @The_hat_trix @mach1ne and everybody else i was unable to mention due to my memory issues
