I'm not into internal battery devices but have many positive comments on the forums about the Innokin Kroma, Geekvape aegis mini, and the voopoo mini. YT is good for getting a look at how user friendly the menu is.

I bought Drag Mini kit for occasional use of the mod, but don't have it yet.
W/code CVD10 = $49.50 over here https://breazy.com/products/drag-mini-117w-tc-starter-kit-voopoo , free shipping @ $50 but 49.50 might work. There's 10 coils that fit the tank.

Another new to the market that looks well done is Eleaf Istick Nowos. Wattage mode only though.

Aspire Typhon has been out a while and I've seen it on sale at a low price.

$70 won't get a carton of cigs, will it? With the mod being easier to chose, getting a kit isn't a necessity. If a kitted tank doesn't look good for you get the mod only and the atomizer separate. I hear HorizonTech Falcon Resin is a great one.

look at the price of coils, BEFORE you buy. see that you are happy with each lasting 1-2 weeks or so. I am sure you would be happy with a mesh coil. I bet that HorizonTech Falcon will kick your teeth in, in a GOOD way.

A nice simple reliable device is the Nautilus 2 atomizer.
Aspire makes the Zelos kit ($60 ?) with the Nautilus 2 atomizer. It uses the Aspire coil that costs about $2 online.
It sounds like what you are looking for. Top-fill, adjustable voltage and adjustable air flow control

I'm pretty happy with eLeaf iPower 80. It's an internal battery mod you can find online for $30-35.

I usually match it up with an eLeaf Melo III or Aspire Cleito tank. Both are in the low $20 range. Coils last a while, and are fairly cheapimages.jpeg

That is what I'd suggest mod-wise - I swear by eLeaf mods in general, and yes, I've had much more expensive mods but always just go back to eLeaf - they simply work and last

Great choice for the atty - I'm sure the mod is okay too though

I have had sticks and mods all I can recommend is get a mod that you can take the battery out the reason is if you get one with a built in battery when it craps out you out of luck with the device. We're if you get a mod with removable batterys say an 18650 type battery when the battery goes bad you just go buy a new battery and not the whole device. But that's just my $.02

I started out with internal battery mods just for the simplicity. All are still in service 4+ years later helping others to quit smoking. While I wouldn't go back to internal batteries I have never regretted my decision to take that route in the beginning. 20-40.00 is still cost efficient if they last 3+ years imo.

I agree with you I started off with those too but after a few months I switched. I think that's we're most beginners and former smokers start.

I switched within a year as well. For a newb internal just takes one more thing off the table to learn. Especially these days with so many options and the decline in customer service in some shops. Still boggles my mind some shops will recommend a beast t8 or t12 to newbs.

The only one I have now a days is the Wismec Active. It has a bluetooth speaker built into it. The speaker works surprisingly well. Decent battery life and it can pull double duty. I've seen people scoff at it on these forums but it's a joy to own. They think a mod should be a mod and lights or something like a speaker is gimmicky.

I like the way the Aegis mini looks. Those Aegis mods look so bulky. The mini is a slimmed down version with a built in battery.

Not to sound the wrong way, but I've been vaping since March and I feel confident in saying that I know more than 90% of the personnel in the many local shops I've visited. I can count on less than one hand the employees there who have ever built or wicked a coil for instance.

Most are pod users who know practically nothing beyond what's popular and what they've heard from who knows where. Not there's anything wrong with pod users, but the point is, that alone doesn't qualify somebody to be recommending products and giving advice.

New vapers are far better off coming to a place like this and at least going to a shop with short list of solid recommendations in hand if they can't wait for an online sale.

Both of these are good bits of advice. Each vaper needs to weigh these views for themselves. I lean more toward @DOAUSMC0331 's view, that however does not invalidate @Letitia9 's view. Both views provide pros and cons about equally. I have owned internal battery mods as well as swappable battery ones. I keep getting swappable battery mods now, mostly mechs. For myself these just seem to work better. Bottom line, it is what each vaper prefers for themselves. Neither choice will be wrong or right, until you (specific you) decide it is so. You might choose though to own some of both. :) That's not wrong or right either.

A nice simple reliable device is the Nautilus 2 atomizer.

This seems to be a decent kit for just a little under $60. Aspire has always seemed to make good gear. Yes, you might pay just a little more but for the quality of the product you get your money's worth. I also suggest Innokin brand mods as good starter, new vaper mods. They make good stuff as well.

If I could handle using a tank now, I might like the Nautilus 2 tanks. Not for me though. I'm used to squonking with no less than 6ml in a sqounk bottle. Capacity is not alone in my choice of not using tanks. Tanks to me mute the flavor if any exists that I can taste. That may be due in part to lacking a sense of smell and only limited sense of taste. In any case, tanks don't suffice for me any more, would be hard pressed to use them again.

Would suggest you probably know more than 97% of them.

No. Come on tell us how you really feel about us. *chuckles*

That's why I suggest you know more than 97% of them. You realize there's other places to look stuff up & know where to ask, how to ask. That how-to guide was written up for computer hackers but it applies to most other areas of life just as well. If I asked you for example, "does my coil need changed", how would you know? I didn't tell you what gear I'm using, or why I think the coil needs changed. You don't have enough data/information to provide a solution/answer.

See? You're already ahead of the game. Look how sharp you are, huh? ;) :)

Just stumbled on this and I hoped that someone would tell Karma that the Nautilus 2 has serious design flaws... it's been out for some time now. There are much better tanks out there, such as the Zenith. Take a look at the Kroma A kit from Innokin. That might be the package you're looking for. Just my two cents. And hey, there are some great honest reviewers on YT!

Sure it will! I think they're about $65-ish per carton...

Maybe in some Hick Towns down South where all the New York'ers go to buy smokes. $100 Plus a carton in New York! On Long Island that is, in NYC it is $130 a pack no break for buying cartons that ended years ago.

I thought it was Federal/State Taxes that made it so high priced? Or do you get a break buying direct? How do they sell them at 30% of what they say they are forced to sell them for here?

Here in GA, the tobacco tax is fairly low, which keeps the price substantially lower than in other parts of the US, but there are a lot of places with still lower prices. It just depends on how much the local state wants to gouge.

Illinois taxed themselves out of drove of customers down south. Most of us were less than 2 hours drive from 2 states that were much cheaper for tobacco. Dad or I would go once a month and stock up for ourselves, family, and friends. Saved over 100.00 each trip.

We went to Missouri and Kentucky. One raised their taxes and we just went to the other. When mom and dad went to Ohio they'd buy a case or two on the trip back.

The mods I have with internal batteries are all Joyetech eVic VTwos. I have three of them. I would definitely buy one of those eLeaf iSticks, though, think they have a 4000mAh internal battery, which would last me several days between charges. All eLeaf mods I have bought have lasted well.

Think with that mod you'd probably want to stay with a 22mm or narrower tank. So many these days are wider than 22, so just something to keep in mind.

Would wager that the Aegis Mini is worthwhile, too. Love Geekvape gear, I surely do.

I have a Nautilus 2, running the 0.7 ohm Nauti coils, but I'm not crazy about it. And as far as Aspire mods go? Won't ever buy another one. I've had a Pegasus Mini, a regular Pegasus, and a Skystar, and none of them lasted worth a damn.

For a newbie right now, I'd hit eBay and see if I could find an Aspire Triton Mini, and get the 1.2 ohm Triton Mini coils for it. Great small tank, doesn't leak, good flavor, so-so vapor since it is MTL. Costs about $25, that is if you can find one. Run it at 20W or less.

For sub-ohm tanks, my son swears by his Vaporesso Cascade. He is now using mesh coils, they are less expensive and last longer than the regular coils. You'd need a bigger mod for the Cascade, though. With just a few exceptions, I have moved to rebuildables myself.

There are many reasons that tanks might throw off dry hits and burnt flavor, some of those reasons attributable to operator error. Never ever ever vape the tank dry, and when setting wattage, stay within or lower than the recommended range according to the resistance of your coils. Also get some advice, based on the coil and wattage you're using, what your pg/vg mix should be for the juice you vape. It makes a big difference, some of it is so thick it won't wick properly.

Oh and a final word? Don't buy Smok. My two cents.

Seems to me that VA/NC/SC/GA have always had lower prices on cigs than any other states. I always thought it was because tobacco is grown all over the place down here. Seems like I heard or read at one time that, during transport, taxes have to be paid to every state through which the cigarettes pass on their way to the final destination. I have no idea if that's true or not, but it does seem like the farther you go from this part of the country, the more they cost.

Probably 60% of the tobacco that used to be planted in my area (VA) is no longer being planted. Fields are either not worked, or they are planted in soybeans or corn. There was a Federal government "buyout" some years ago, some farmers who had grown tobacco were actually paid not to plant it. The mother of a coworker of mine received a pretty decent chunk of money out of that program.

I remember when I promised myself that I'd quit if cigs ever got to $1 a pack. I didn't. When I started smoking, though, they were about 35 cents a pack.

GA doesn't grow any tobacco... we just have sane lawmakers who keep the tobacco taxes considerably lower than those addicted-to-taxes states like NY and CA. And Illinois, apparently.

There's a newer Nautilus than the 2 pictured. The 2S. 2S has a couple more coil and air flow options than 2 , + the ability to MTL or a more DTL.
Zelos Kit has Nautilus 2 tank. Zelos Kit 2.0 has 2S tank.
Both kits have the same mod.
Triton Mini coils fit all Nautilus tanks.

Hmm, could be, I guess, but it's awfully hot here, I wouldn't think tobacco would do too well... but maybe certain particular types might. There's an awful lot of agriculture of all types, so anything's possible I guess. It's just not a really "major" crop here.

No, why would it be? Nothing here but rain; the ONLY place that's likely to see any snow/ice is the EXTREME NE corner, up in the Smokies.

Look up what I have used as my last battery, and bought it again as the one I'm using now, which is the Innokin MVP4.

It has a wattage of 6 - 100 and is internal battery with pass-through charging / vaping, so that you can charge it while you vape.
It can take a few different tanks with a 510 adapter that comes with it in the kit.. and I think maybe when you just buy the battery also. (Either way the adapter is only $5 at your local vape store. )

I got mine last year for $75 at a store down the street, and after I looked up one this year I bought it for $55 with free shipping by using the website "vapecrawler".

The vapecrawler website tells you the cheapest place to find anything related to vaping if you use the search box. Note, you may have to reword your search term sometimes.. and then select the country you want it to ship from in green.. and turn the others Black by tapping them, and to sort it from the lowest price at the top- if you go to the downward-pointing arrow and make it green (and the rest of the options for filtering in Black), it will list the cheapest price in the country you selected at the top of the page and gets more expensive as you go down the page.

The battery on this lasts a VERY long time, & it has a 5000mah battery, I do believe- you may need to check that.
It also has an extra big USB port- so if you have a phone charger cord.. you can charge your phone/etc off of it.

The MVP 3 Pro I believe, or the regular MVP 3, had an internal cord hooked up to it and tucked up underneath the bottom , so that you could automatically charge a phone without needing a cord.. but it only had 3000mah I believe.. which usually ran out on me about an hour before I needed it to so I decided to upgrade to more battery life. It comes in some cool colors and the wraps that you can buy for it that fits the MVP3 will also fit the MVP3 Pro and the MVP4. Innokin is the maker for these.

For aesthetics and function the Smoant Naboo kit works excellent. Yes, you have to put two batteries in it but the coils last forever. I still have the original coils in the tank although I'm running a Faris setup on it presently. Coils are about two months old on the Naboo tank and still ok to run.

It's a great looking mod, mine is the rainbow color and the tank is just as beautiful. No issues and fast ramp up time. Screensaver, three different screens to pick and choose to include the music one, time, etc. You can upload your own screensaver but I haven't. The screen is like the old touchscreen phones, not really touch but hepatic (??). For function, easy on coil usage, low to high ohms, decent battery life and looks it's my goto mod.

I have two Voopoo mods and one is terrible (won't work without shocking me) and the other is having issues with paint chipping (common issue with this brand).

Ah there we go, someone posting about an MVP. :)

I had one of the original MVP 2 series for about three years before it finally had a physical defect. The 510 connector got fouled up. It came unseated in the unit & could not hold atomizers any more. The battery still held a charge and the extra usb output still worked. My wife called dibs on using it as a spare battery pack for her phone, or tablet. I did not mind her doing that one bit. Then, she saw one of those nifty HALO battery packs & had to has it. *chuckles*

All in the point scored these mods is they're durable as all get out. Battery life in them is right smart as well. Would I suggest an MVP for a new vaper? Yes I would. They are affordable for the use you can get out of them. They are also real simple to look at and see an intuitive menu system, simple to learn to use. Innokin needs to catch up though and make us a good regulated squonker.

I've never had an MVP, I always thought they were a bit too "boxy"... and having the 510 smack in the middle just looked odd to me. But Innokin is definitely a winner! Had 4 iTaste vv3's, starting with my very first "real" vape (as opposed to a cigalike), and that very first one still works, nearly 5 yrs later, though one of the others gave up the ghost. Got about 6 or 7 Coolfire IVs, and they're also topnotch mods, though again, one of them isn't usable anymore, since it's very unreliable; may misfire, may turn itself off unexpectedly, etc. But Innokin is tops! Outstanding products for very sensible prices.

If you're still looking I work for a shop in San Antonio Texas and have been vaping for 5 years. If you would like some personalized help feel free to PM me. Whether you purchase from us or somewhere else does not matter to me, I'm just here to make sure you stay vaping and away from the stinkies. That is my job, I'm not in sales, I work tech support for this shop. (How many shops have dedicated tech support?).
