Mod. I need power and flavor. I wouldn't mind trying a pod device but I haven't yet.

Well, most former smokers say the pod system is more like a cigarette alternative.

I have been vaping for a very long time and I started with Cig-A-Likes which is what I used to quit. But then Cartridges got expensive so I switched to an iStick TC40W and a Nautilus Mini. Cost for a week of vaping went down to less than a pack of cigarettes for one day. I tried the POD System after having a bunch of MOD's and they got expensive for blanks and just did not cut it for me. After 40 Years of smoking nothing is like a cigarette but vaping is a great alternative. Since right now I am Sub Ohming with a large bore drip tip, it is nothing like a cigarette but I enjoy my vaping choice.

Mod.

I only used pods for a month after quitting smoking and then switched to mods.

Mod.

Vapers who try to quit smoking cigarettes thinking a small, low powered pod system is all they need to succeed are most often failing. The small minority who still succeed can't usually do so without heavy suffering from cravings, i.e. they become dual users (smoking cigarettes in between vape sessions) and they have to really struggle to keep vaping. There are always going to be exceptions of course, but this has been my overall/general impression when talking to vapers face to face instead of talking on the internet.

Good Point. I never knew that. Thank you for your sharing.

Seems pod is not your type
I only used a pod for a short time to discontinue cigarettes.

Once I had zero interest in smoking, I wanted to explore flavours other than tobacco and the limited varieties available for pods. That's why I switched to mods. I enjoy the flavours with regular juice, rather than salts, and more flavours are available. I don't vape anything with a tobacco flavour now, and I prefer DL vaping, rather than MTL vaping.

Exactly this a mod and separate atty affords better variety to the mix, can’t underestimate that although I appreciate the barrier and complexity to entry being removed for new vapers ...cigalikes did not work for me personally and I dual used while using them only a proper set up could get me off the stinkies.

and what Jwill said ...especially closed system pods wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole, don’t want to get out of one pocket only to get into another with proprietary systems. Open refillable systems though are handy for travelling but that’s all I’d want to try them for.

Removing the barrier and complexity to entry is essentially just a marketing ploy and a recipe for disaster based on not much more than the enticement that is triggered in the consumer's mind to create a typical buyer response fueled by wishful thinking surrounded by disinformation. There is no such thing as free lunch, and that's why these things don't really help smokers quit, at least in the vast majority of cases they don't.

I use a mod. Mods are for hobbyist and pods are for those that want to quit smoking and not piss away more loot in gear than they did on smokes.

I am a mod guy however, I recently won a Renova Zero refillable pod. It is a really good little device. No leaks and surprisingly good little clouds. I use it in bed (no leak if I fall asleep with it ) or when It is not convenient to blow a cloud. I believe it is a usable tool added to my box.

My LV Orion Pod Mod is used when I am out and about- small and stealthy!

Both. I use dual 18650 mods most of the time, when I'm out in public I use pod systems with high nic nicsalts. Very satisfying and descreet. No reason to limit yourself to just one way of getting your nic fix.

I mean in the sense of pick it up ...push a button and your away ... not all users are wanting the settings to deal with ....pods offer simplicity

Every time I check into the details of a pod system, I always have a nice chuckle at the mah rating and the pod liquid capacity and then go back to vaping on my KangSiDe dual battery U1000 mod with an Amigo 4ml TopFill tank.

That they do and I feel that they are a useful device to get many off of cigs.
Whether controlled by BT or not.

the one 8 use has a 500 mah battery and 2 mill capacity. I get around 300 puffs per charge and a few days off 2mls of eliquid. No worries on either account.

I already know that's what you meant. But my point was that's a miracle solution, and the reality is that real people living in the real world don't very often get to see a miracle solution that actually works... hence my (IMO reasonably accurate enough, as I did admit there are always going to be exceptions) description of "wishful thinking", i.e. push a button and you're away until finally you realize you're not factually away (but your money is).

Don't let Pai Mei notice that you're not really serious. If you do he'll seriously pluck your eye out. :p

I have a couple of early pod systems that I liked well and used for a time.
Eleaf Basic. Nice little rig. Has a magnetic snap down in the mod 14 mm tank with adjustable air flow.

A leader in the world of pod vape.

Well if you are a bit of a low wattage vaper (but not a total cheapskate low wattage vaper), then I can understand perfectly how it could be entirely possible that you might like, for example, the Lost Vape Orion DNA Go pod system. But if you're smoking 2 packs a day having never tried vaping before and after they gave you real advice you walk out of a vape shop with, say, the Innokin EQ pod system and the intention to use just it and nothing else to kick your smoking habit, then, despite it IMO is still a really very decent quality device (for a pod system), you're a brave person, that I'll tell ya...

I quit a 40+ yr 1.5 pad smoking habit on cigalikes...
And did not even plan on quitting. Had given up on quitting years ago.
Quitting was not a horrible problem but staying quit longer than a few months was.
wife Unit got a cigalike kit as a surprise gift for me....
! week later no more cigs.
Moved up to clearos and such within a couple of months.
Nearly 4 years later and still no cigs.
And when I started I just very vaguely knew what electronic cigs were. Very vaguely.

I have no real problem with BT.
I entered into smoking knowing it was addictive and caused deaths and illnesses.
BT kept me in fairly cheap smokes for decades.
Most of the high price of cigs today is taxes. Supposedly collected to pay for health care for smoking related diseases. maybe 10% goes for that the rest is spent on other things by the government.

Not a political statement or a statement of support for BT.
Just my truth.
I will not blame BT for my stupid decision.

BT merely lied and explicitly poisoned the product.
Government was and is perfectly happy getting their percentages the same way, but also by pretending the taxes are for care.

Frankly, most of the monies are spent in paying twits and for twit-ads against smoking. Yer fucked as a smoker.

All that said, you ain't getting anything better from CASSAA and other nitwit organizations

yep vapers are such small minority that we have no political clout.
BT is just doing what most all US company's do. Rent govt officials for their cause.
Not a fan of big tobacco but I do not blame them for my smoking habit. That was all on me.

BT merely lied and explicitly poisoned the product.
And made billions of $$$, which investors shifted into BP to still maximize on profit even after the tobacco control lobby started booming. Obviously connecting all the dots.

How could I blame them for the "produce" I enjoyed in pipes and suffered in cigs? I loved pipe tobacco, just not the prices.

People need more Head-Out-Of-Ass. Own it. I do glare at them for "contaminating" both politics and the product. I glare even more at the government for pretending this was Unexpected or Unusual. Lying pricks.

I don't blame BT for my own mistakes. It's just that the money trail that originates from them is also fueling BP and the anti-vaping crusade that will allow BT to infiltrate the vaping industry with classical trojan horse like strategies.

Well for the US business interests in China for sure.

Will be interesting if things go badly south with China/US relations and they just nationalize all those US companies stuff in China....
It is kind of one of the things that Communists are known for in history.

I love irony.
Retirement plans were heavily invested in BT for a long time.

I like using pods for my nicotine fixation. I use Mods and rda's for my desk at home where I can blow clouds and relax.
